Reuse the onboarding scanner and importer for directory-scoped selection, bounded transcript previews, and duplicate-safe attachment. Preserve native continuation without sending a prompt on import. ApprovabilityVerdict: Not approved Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — This PR introduces a substantial end-to-end Claude session import workflow spanning transcript scanning, WebSocket APIs, authorization, thread persistence, and a new web UI. It also changes existing transcript parsing and has unresolved cross-project and interrupted-import correctness risks. Not approved because:

105-105: 🩺 Stability & Availability | 🔵 Trivial | 🏗️ Heavy liftOne global permit serializes interactive attach behind bulk import.
importLocknow guards bothattachAgentSession(line 212) andimportRecentAgentThreads(line 219). The permit is process-wide, so it is not scoped to a project or a session. A bulk import for an unrelated project holds the permit while it walks every configured home and reads up toMAX_IMPORT_BYTESof transcripts. A user who clicks "Attach & open" during that window waits for the whole bulk import to finish. The lock is what makes concurrent attaches idempotent, so keep the mutual exclusion but narrow its key. A
Map<string, Semaphore>keyed by${input.projectId}for bulk import and byimportedThreadId(input)for attach preserves the duplicate-safe invariant and stops unrelated work from blocking the interactive path.Note that lock ordering is consistent today:
importLockis always acquired before the scanner'simportReadLock, so this change does not introduce a deadlock risk. Keep that order if you key the lock.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

1786-1802: 🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winCache scoped transcript discovery across cursor requests.
listrunsscopedTranscriptsbefore slicing 40 entries. Each call repeats Claude-home discovery and transcript metadata reads, with budgets of up to 5,000 transcripts and 20,000 filesystem operations per source. Paging through a large home can therefore repeat this I/O and add interactive latency. Cache the scoped list by workspace identity and resolved homes for a short TTL, then reuse it for cursor requests. Keepinspectfor returned entries because it re-stats files and validates their identity; expire the list so new sessions become visible promptly.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Preserve project ownership and provider aliases when opening or repairing an imported session. Batch candidate ownership reads and retain stable list snapshots across pagination and retries. Make filesystem-error fixtures deterministic, preserve the selected session across refreshes, and share the native session ID validator. Keep the common import permit because separate project and thread-ID locks would not exclude same-home aliases. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>

Thanks for the PR. We're not taking changes to the orchestration and provider layers right now: that part of the server is being rewritten for V2, and merging into the current code would either conflict with or be thrown away by that work. Closing for now. If this is still an issue once V2 lands, please reopen (or open a fresh PR against the new code) and we'll take a proper look. |
Session import is currently part of onboarding, where it imports recent conversations in bulk. This adds individual Claude Code session import to the new-thread screen for an existing project.
The server resolves transcript locations rather than accepting file paths from the client. Discovery and preview reads are bounded. Selected-session locators are cached and revalidated so each preview page does not rescan every project. Previews do not fetch remote media or rich-link content.
This keeps the existing bounded text-history import rather than creating a complete transcript archive. Search covers the listed summaries, with an action to load older sessions. The new entry point is for web and desktop; it does not redesign native mobile onboarding.
Verification
TMPDIR=/private/tmp. This includes same-home aliases, separate account homes, oversized setup records, unreadable child directories, cached locator revalidation, preview paging, concurrent attachment, interrupted-import recovery, and the existing resume-on-next-send regression.git diff --checkpass. Targeted lint exits successfully, with two asynchronous-effect warnings in the new dialog and existing warnings in touched files. The canonical
TMPDIRavoids an existing upstream scanner test failure caused by macOS/varversus/private/varpath normalization. That failure was reproduced against untouched upstream code.Screenshots
