Describe the improvement

a nice feature to have is to click on a tray-icon and the window disappears.

it's good if it opens up (otherwise it's a true nightmare if one left-click doesn't do anything) but it can be better if the window disappears with one left-mousebutton-click.

i really like this setting:

now i can click on the tray-icon and the most important tab opens right away: available updates. thank you!

Describe how this improvement could help users

they neither need alt+f4 nor click the close-window button, for a quick update check.

i use it a lot with OBS and the new whatsapp for windows, also qbittorrent, left-menu context menu of steam, MIRANDA NG OF COURSE!!!, teamviewer, ...

sadly telegram for windows desktop, everything by voidtools, ditto-cp (but at least you can click somewhere else and it disappears), rustdesk, anydesk, jdownloader, ... sadly doesn't support it or even worse, nothing happens with a left one-mousebutton click.

This was already a thing in the past, and people complained that when they double-clicked the window hid again. I will check how can we do this so it doesn't bother people

except on anydesk and jdownloader, there is no need to double-click on a tray-icon.

a possible solution would be settings with

    • open unigetUI with one click on tray-icon (current situation)
    • open unigetUI with double click on tray-icon (i don't like that)
    • open and close unigetUI with one click on tray-icon.

if you implement a solution, please tell me about it. thank you.

edit: telegram works with one-left-click on windows 10/11
edit2: jdownloader works with left-doubleclick which is also very nice.

thank you guys for fulfilling my wish. since 2026.3.3.0 i can use UniGetUI (unigetUI) on windows server 2022 too!

i got flabbergasted by all the updates popping up in unigetUI which used to be empty for quite a time.

now only 2 things are left with python not being able to get major updates installed only minor updates which is the fault of winget (although there could be a way to solve this through some code changes in unigetUI): sometimes unigetUI takes more than half of my screen and i have to resize it everytime, and the seond is the one click on tray-icon can minimize the window too. #4442
