Summary

With no model named, localm gui, localm serve, scheduled jobs and the MCP server picked the first registered model whose type was not unknown, embedding or tts. After localm setup-music that was ACE-Step's text encoder, so the GUI started by failing to load it as a chat model and named it in the chat page.

The default pick now also skips every component type (mmproj, diffusion-unet, text-encoder, vae, lora, upscaler, controlnet, textual-inversion). A model of one of those types still runs where its own route takes it by name.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

The startup, scheduled-job and MCP default chat model skips every type in NON_CHAT_TYPES as well as unknown and embedding, so a text encoder that setup-music registers is never loaded as the chat model.
