@SonofKrypton suggested adding an event log entry about who is coming to the convention and how far off it is. I think having everyone respond on the same day is a confusing and unrealistic mess that makes it harder to track what each empire said, compared to having the responses spread out over a couple of weeks or so. There may be other ideas for handling these as well, and I by no means think we've hit on the perfect solutions, but I think adjusting how empires respond could seriously improve this event.
