in the low-precision initialization flow so it occurs only after
CustomAllReduceHelper.initialize_lowprecision_buffers succeeds. Preserve retry
behavior after initialization fails, and add a test that verifies a subsequent
call retries initialization rather than reusing a failed cache entry.

…s threads get_allreduce_workspace() and the low-precision variant cached their IPC workspaces in threading.local(). Allocation runs a TP-wide tp_allgather, so all ranks must agree on whether to allocate. RpcWorker builds rank 0 on an RPC executor thread and the other ranks on their main thread. In a reused MPI pool, rank 1's main thread hits its cache from an earlier LLM and skips the collective, while rank 0's fresh thread enters it. Both ranks then deadlock in mismatched collectives (tp_allgather vs the weight-loader coordinate_error allgather), and setup_engine never returns. Keep the caches process-wide, guarded by a per-mapping lock, so the allocate-or-reuse decision is the same on every rank regardless of thread. 56-57: 🩺 Stability & Availability | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winTest concurrent first use of the low-precision cache.
The low-precision test only checks sequential reuse with initialization stubbed. Add a test that blocks
initialize_lowprecision_buffers, starts a second caller with the same mapping, and asserts that the second caller waits and that allocation and initialization occur once.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Remove the remaining 6 waive entries on release/1.3 whose NVBugs are closed. PRs NVIDIA#20585, NVIDIA#20590, NVIDIA#20592 and NVIDIA#20632 handle the other closed-bug entries. - 6428092, 6432826: pipeline-parallel TorchSampler IndexError, fixed by NVIDIA#16163, which is on release/1.3. - 6435097, 6432818: closed as fixed by NVIDIA#16163, but their B200 / GB300 waivers were added later from runs on those GPUs; only QA lists run these tests there. - 6695515, 6812288: closed as not reproducible. The 6428092 entry waives the whole `-m "gpu2"` selection of test_llm_multi_gpu_pytorch.py, which also holds test_llm_rpc_tp2, test_llm_rpc_streaming_tp2 and test_llm_return_logprobs_streaming_tp2. main waives those three under 6859934 because it does not have the fix in NVIDIA#19847 yet; release/1.3 has it. …e/1.3 Remove the two release/1.3 waive entries for closed NVBugs 6428092 and 6432826, a pipeline-parallel TorchSampler IndexError fixed by NVIDIA#16163, which is on release/1.3. These are the only closed-bug entries left whose tests run in pre-merge CI on the waived platform (DGX_H100 2-GPU stages). The other closed-bug entries (6435097, 6432818, 6695515, 6812288) only run in post-merge stages on other GPUs or in QA lists, so they stay waived until QA verifies them on the waived platform. Dev Engineer Review
The reported cache and locking implementation is not present in the supplied diff. The diff shows import-formatting changes only in
ops.py. The checkout status does not show the reported test file as a changed file, although the file is present in the workspace.QA Engineer Review
The workspace contains a CPU-only test file with four tests. It covers fusion-workspace reuse across threads, low-precision workspace reuse, single allocation during concurrent first use, and distinct workspaces for distinct mappings. Test-list membership and test execution results are not established. Coverage verdict: needs follow-up.
Per-File QA Perspective
tensorrt_llm/_torch/distributed/ops.py: The visible diff reformats imports and shows no behavior change to verify.tests/unittest/_torch/distributed/test_allreduce_workspace_cache.py: The workspace file covers cross-thread reuse, concurrent allocation, and mapping isolation. Its changed-file status and membership in an applicable test list are not established.
