Feature request: Intel Arc B390 / Panther Lake iGPU support on Windows (64 GB shared RAM) #515
Please consider support for the Intel Arc B390 integrated GPU (Core Ultra X9 388H / Panther Lake) on Windows, using a SYCL/Level Zero or Vulkan backend.
I found the earlier Intel Arc request in #299 and the ongoing SYCL port in #423. This request is specifically for the B390 integrated GPU with shared system memory on Windows, rather than the Arc Pro B70 discrete GPU on Ubuntu used to validate that port.
LM Studio's installed llama.cpp Vulkan runtime (2.29.1) also lists the B390 as an available device. These were device-enumeration checks only, not successful Strata inference tests; I have not installed or benchmarked Strata on this machine.
Requested support
A native Windows installation/build path for Intel B390, potentially extending the SYCL work in INTEL B70 32gb support #423.
Detection and allocation planning for integrated/shared-memory GPUs: CPU RAM and GPU memory share the same physical pool and should not be counted as independent capacities.
Conservative model/context recommendations for a 64 GB system, with clear errors when a requested allocation cannot fit.
An experimental text-only path would already be useful; image input and performance parity with discrete GPUs are not prerequisites.
Is B390 / Panther Lake support feasible through the existing SYCL port, and what additional device information or kernel checks would be needed to evaluate it?
Intel Arc support is in 0.1.39 as an experimental engine: #423's SYCL port, built from source on Linux with Intel oneAPI. Start with ./setup.sh --backend sycl; docs/INTEL_ARC.md has the build and what is tested. There is no ready-made Intel engine yet.
For the B390 specifically, it isn't there yet. Windows has no setup path for the Intel engine, and the planning for a GPU that shares system RAM does not exist yet (the port assumes a discrete card with its own VRAM). If you try the Linux build on the B390, the output of sycl-ls and the engine's log would help us see how far it gets.

Thanks for the thorough request! Intel Arc support is coming very soon. Closing this one; the release notes will say when it's in.
