Fixes the two clippy::collapsible_match errors in nodespace-core on main. They came from 10eced28, and bun run rust:lint and quality:fix fail on main because of them. The changes are behaviour-preserving, with no #[allow]:

  • packages/core/src/db/sqlite_store/structure.rs (CHILDREN_EXCEPT arm): now a match guard if !except.contains(target). A duplicate target falls through to _ => {}, a no-op as before. children_except and parent_of are distinct consts, so no other arm can match.
  • packages/core/src/services/node_service/crud.rs (merge_schema_definition): no guard here, because stored.remove(key) has a side effect, so a guard would change which arm runs. It is now if let Some(value) = written.remove(key) { if value.is_null() { remove-if-stored, push to cleared } else { insert } }. A Null for an unstored key still does nothing.

A third error, in packages/agent/src/pty/plain_text.rs, surfaced once these compiled. packages/agent needs its owner's sign-off, so that fix moved to #3574. After this PR, rust:lint is clean except for that one site.

Checks:

  • cargo clippy -p nodespace-core --all-targets -D warnings is clean.
  • nextest for nodespace-core passes (structure, schema and merge_schema filters: 511 passed).
  • bun run test:changed passes.
  • check-pro-boundary is clean.

Review: APPROVE, with behaviour equivalence proved for each site; see the PR comments.

The merge gate gap that let these land is #3563.

Review (pragmatic-code-reviewer, medium depth, behaviour equivalence)

Verdict: approve. No blockers, no #[allow].

  1. structure.rs (CHILDREN_EXCEPT): a duplicate target now fails the guard and falls to _ => {}. children_except and parent_of are distinct consts, so nothing else can match. Equivalent.
  2. crud.rs (merge_schema_definition): written.remove(key) is still called once per key. is_null() matches the same values as Some(Value::Null). stored.remove and the cleared push stay on the null path only, and the non-null path still inserts. Equivalent.
  3. plain_text.rs: when the buffer is empty the guard fails and the char falls past 'C' | 'G' (disjoint set) to _ => {}. State::Text is returned either way. Equivalent.

Clippy on the new shapes: guards are the form collapsible_match recommends. The nested if in site 2 has an else, so neither collapsible_match nor collapsible_if applies.

Nit: a comment that a duplicate target falls through to _ and is ignored would help. Optional.

Address review

No blockers to address.

  • The reviewer's optional clippy run: already covered. bun run rust:lint and bun run quality:fix pass on this head with -D warnings -D clippy::unused-async.
  • Nit (comment on fall-through): not taken. The guard form is what clippy prescribes, and the lint-only diff stays minimal.

Collapse nested ifs into match guards (structure.rs, plain_text.rs) and
restructure the side-effecting remove in merge_schema_definition (crud.rs)
with no behaviour change.

The plain_text.rs lint fix needs the packages/agent owner's sign-off, so it
moves to its own change. This PR keeps the two nodespace-core fixes.
