What & why

Nightly documentation-sync run for the window 2026-09-14T01:07Z → 2026-09-15T03:07Z.

#371 added three hosted services — ExecutionStatsRollupService, DashboardAggregateWarmup and WorkflowDefinitionFactsWarmup — and neither background-service inventory mentions any of them. Both inventories present themselves as covering what runs in the background, so a reader looking for what starts after boot, or for the switch that turns the precomputation off, found nothing.

Per doc change and the PR that caused it:

Doc Change Driven by
docs/claude-reference.md Three rows in the background-services table with their gating; the intro now names Program.cs as the registration site for them and adds opt-out to the gating legend #371
src/nodepilot-docs-ui/content/de/configuration/retention.md ExecutionStatsRollupService + DashboardAggregateWarmup under "Andere Background-Services"; Stats:Rollup:Enabled in the stats key table; a note on what the buckets do and do not cover #371
src/nodepilot-docs-ui/content/en/configuration/retention.md Same, English tree #371

How

Gating, sweep intervals, start delays and defaults were read off the services themselves (Stats:Rollup:Enabled and Dashboard:Warmup:Enabled both default to true; the rollup is leader-gated, the warm-up is process-local). Nothing here anticipates unmerged work — every claim is true on main at 24022ee.

WorkflowDefinitionFactsWarmup is listed only in docs/claude-reference.md: it has no switch and no operational knob, so it stays out of the operator-facing site.

Two notes for a human, tracked in #375:

  • The background-services tables still omit six long-standing hosted services (AuthSessionCleanupService, DatabaseAvailabilityProbe, DirectorySynchronizationService, ExternalAuthorizationStalenessService, ThreadPoolTuningService, SignalRExecutionNotifier). That predates Precompute dashboard statistics into hourly buckets #371, and whether those tables are meant to be exhaustive or a curated subset is not a call this sync should make — hence the softened "Die Hosted-Services" instead of "Alle Hosted-Services" rather than a wholesale fill-in.
  • Stats:Rollup:Enabled is documented but is not one of the two keys the Stats admin-settings section owns.

Testing

Docs only — no code paths touched. Markdown changes are additive rows and prose in files both language trees already carry, so the docs-site language-parity guard and DocumentationCountsTests see no new files and no changed counts.

  • Docs updated (docs-ui content/de/ and content/en/)
  • Branched off main; no direct commits to main
  • Backend/frontend suites — not run; nothing executable changed

Generated by Claude Code

#371 added three hosted services that no service inventory mentions:
ExecutionStatsRollupService, DashboardAggregateWarmup and
WorkflowDefinitionFactsWarmup. Both inventories claim to cover the
background services, so a reader looking for what runs after startup —
or for the switch that turns the precomputation off — found nothing.

- docs/claude-reference.md: three rows in the background-services table
with their gating, and the intro now names Program.cs as their
  registration site.
- content/{de,en}/configuration/retention.md: the two services an
operator can switch, plus Stats:Rollup:Enabled in the stats key table
and a note on what the buckets do and do not cover.

Gating, intervals and defaults read off the services themselves.
