Screenshots: Network admin dashboard widgets (7 identical duplicates) #70

Description

@superdav42

For #64.

Problem

The network admin dashboard documentation describes individual widgets — First Steps, Right Now, Summary, Activity Stream, News, etc. — but all 7 supposedly-different screenshots are the same full dashboard shot (MD5 1dce0a089f4adf8faaeb182e00e11f5d, 125 540 B each).

static/img/admin/network-dashboard-activity-stream.png same hash
static/img/admin/network-dashboard-first-steps.png same hash
static/img/admin/network-dashboard-full.png same hash
static/img/admin/network-dashboard-news.png same hash
static/img/admin/network-dashboard-right-now.png same hash
static/img/admin/network-dashboard-summary.png same hash
static/img/installation/network-dashboard.png same hash

The full-page version (static/img/admin/network-dashboard-full-page.png, 154 809 B, different hash) is a distinct image and probably fine.

Affected docs:

  • docs/user-guide/administration/dashboard-overview.md
  • docs/user-guide/administration/understanding-the-dashboard.md
  • docs/user-guide/getting-started/installing-ultimate-multisite.md

Captures required

Open http://wordpress.local:8080/wp-admin/network/ (My Sites → Network Admin → Dashboard) and crop to each widget individually.

# Widget Filename What to show
1 First Steps static/img/admin/network-dashboard-first-steps.png The Ultimate Multisite — First Steps card with its three numbered steps (Initial Setup / Payment Method / First Customer)
2 Summary static/img/admin/network-dashboard-summary.png The Ultimate Multisite — Summary card showing Signups today / MRR / Today's gross revenue
3 Activity Stream static/img/admin/network-dashboard-activity-stream.png The Activity Stream card with at least 3 recent events visible
4 Right Now static/img/admin/network-dashboard-right-now.png The WP-native Right Now card (Sites, Users)
5 News static/img/admin/network-dashboard-news.png The WordPress Events and News card
6 (overview) static/img/admin/network-dashboard-full.png A composite shot of all four UM widgets visible together. Keep the existing network-dashboard-full-page.png separate — that’s the longer full-scroll version.
7 (installation) static/img/installation/network-dashboard.png Same as #6 but immediately after first-activate, so First Steps is at 0% done. Used by the install guide.

Each card-only shot should be a tight crop, width 600-800 px (well under the 1568 max). Optimise with pngquant.

Note: the underlying source window can still be 1280×800 — just crop after.

Doc edit

No markdown edits are needed if you keep the filenames. Optionally split dashboard-overview.md and understanding-the-dashboard.md so each widget callout uses its dedicated shot (they already reference the dedicated names, so swapping the files is enough).

Also fix the duplicate um-dashboard-bottom.png / um-dashboard-stats.png pair (MD5 b9c1d601bb…) — those are tracked separately in #X (UM analytics dashboard issue, to be created).

Done when

  • All 7 dashboard widget shots are visually distinct.
  • md5sum static/img/admin/network-dashboard-*.png static/img/installation/network-dashboard.png shows unique hashes.
  • All three referencing docs render with the right widget per callout.
  • PR opened with Resolves for this issue and Ref #64.
