💡 What:
Replaced synchronous
fs.readdirSynccalls with an asynchronous, concurrent approach usingfs.promises.readdirinside anasyncloop wrapper andPromise.allmapping.🎯 Why:
The previous implementation used synchronous file I/O operations (
listModelFiles->fs.readdirSync) inside afor...ofloop over multiple directories when building the repository manifest. Doing this blocks the Node.js event loop on a per-directory basis, scaling poorly. Updating it to fire requests concurrently leverages asynchronous I/O and heavily optimizes generation times for a large number of directories.📊 Measured Improvement:
Baseline vs new implementation was measured with a dummy benchmark script creating 150 directories each with a
metadata.yamland 11.bnglfiles.1276 ms781 msThis represents a ~40% reduction in manifest generation time for typical I/O workloads.
