Stacked on #1414. This branch is built on remove/xml-request-parser, so until #1414 merges, the diff also shows its commit (217bcf2). Review only the top commit, 17f9d68. Docs only; there are no code changes.

Why

V2 apps receive CLAUDE.md as the amber--docs agent skill, distributed by shards-alpha through ai_docs. Its "External Dependencies" list named Grant, the CLI and Asset Pipeline, but not Micrate, Gemma or the coming parsing library. An agent working in a V2 app therefore had no ecosystem map for migrations, attachments or XML.

What changes

  • CLAUDE.md "External Dependencies" now covers three more shards, plus one link:
    • Micrate: SQL migrations behind amber database migrate, rollback and status.
    • Gemma: attachments, labeled an ecosystem preview.
    • Mica: a pure-Crystal parsing library, in development and not yet released.
      • It reads and verifies untrusted input exactly as published standards define it.
      • Today it is XML 1.0 and Namespaces 1.0: a streaming reader, a DOM, a builder and XPath 1.0. It uses no C library and does no network or disk access while parsing.
      • It is the planned XML parser for ParserRegistry.register_body_parser. Other formats are planned, not built, and Amber does not depend on it.
    • The site's crew page link.
  • docs/guides/schema-api.md: the sentence on XML returning as an opt-in parser now names Mica and says it has no release yet.

Verification

crystal-alpha build --no-codegen src/amber.cr on this branch reports 0 errors and 0 warnings. No Crystal source changed.

Amber V2 parses request bodies as JSON and form data (plus the bounded
CBOR and COSE schema formats). The XML parser added in the schema params
work required Crystal's `xml` module, which made every V2 application link
libxml2 and let any client send a document for libxml2 to parse.

- Remove Amber::Schema::Parser::XMLParser, its example, README, and specs.
- Answer application/xml, text/xml, and any +xml request body with
415 Unsupported Media Type, including when a schema declares the type,
and stop sniffing `<`-prefixed bodies as XML in standalone parsing.
- Add ParserRegistry.register_body_parser so an application can opt in to
a body format such as XML with one call at boot. XML support returns
later as an opt-in parser built on a pure-Crystal XML library.
- Document the breaking change in CHANGELOG, the migration guide, and the
  schema guide.
CLAUDE.md ships to applications as the amber--docs agent skill. Its
external-dependency list now covers Micrate and Gemma and introduces Mica,
the pure-Crystal parsing library in development that is the planned XML
parser for ParserRegistry.register_body_parser. The schema guide names
Mica where it describes XML returning as an opt-in parser.
