MCP supports progress messages https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/2025-03-26/basic/utilities/progress. Separate from the ui in #2101 It would be nice to get these notifications through the SDK/server.

The #2101 issue was closed after implementation (UI progress notifications), but your request appears to be specifically about exposing the MCP progress events through the SDK/server APIs for programmatic access, which is what #11771 is addressing as part of the TUI rewrite effort.
