new session clears current prompt input

Description

sometimes i am in a session and i decide i want some prompt ive typed to run in a new session. i <C-x> n to new session and my prompt is cleared and I cry

please preserve the prompt when creating a new session

Steps to reproduce

1. have existing session
2. type prompt
3. try to start new session with prompt
4. prompt disappears
