UI - Improve Duration Chart #54786

Closed

Description

@pierrejeambrun

As mentioned in #50184 (comment), the duration chart needs some improving:

  • Rework the labels so they do not take that much space from the actual graph.
  • Remove animation during auto refresh.

    Hi @Thanush-03, sure! Here's the main file you'll be working on: airflow-core/src/airflow/ui/src/components/DurationChart.tsx

    • Rework the labels: You can change X-Axis(e.g., from "YYYY-MM-DD, hh:mm:ss" to "MMM DD, HH:mm").
    • Remove animation during auto refresh: You can check Chart.js documentation for animation setting.

    Hope this helps you get started!

    @pwdsudinym-ui We are unassigning you from this issue as part of our updated assignment policy.

    This is not meant to discourage your contribution — quite the opposite! You are still very welcome to work on this issue and submit a PR for it. Simply comment that you are working on it and open a PR when ready.

    We found that formal assignments were not working well, as they often prevented others from contributing when the assignee was not actively working on the issue.
