[Task] New Grpah-UI(hubble) backend module issues #694
Compile and verify the new Hubble frontend + backend modules based on PR #632, resolve runtime issues, and ensure the new graph backend is accessible. (based on the code → 1.7.0)
Background
PR #632 introduced changes to the Hubble codebase. This task aims to validate those changes by building and running the updated system.
Tasks
1. Build Verification
Compile the new Hubble frontend & BE module (refer README/doc)
2. Runtime Issue Resolution
Identify existing runtime bugs in the backend
Fix minor bugs that prevent normal operation
Verify all fixes with appropriate testing (Better, at least with the doc)
3. End-to-End Validation
Start the backend service successfully
Access the new graph backend through the frontend
Confirm the full functionality of the integrated system (GraphServer + GraphLoader)
Success Criteria
✅ Both frontend and backend compile without errors
✅ Backend starts and runs without critical errors
✅ Frontend can successfully connect to and interact with the backend
✅ New graph backend is fully accessible and operational
To build and validate the new Hubble frontend and backend modules after PR #632, follow the updated onboarding documentation for prerequisites and build steps: use Java 11, Maven, Node.js 18.20.8, and Python 3 for the environment, then build dependencies (hugegraph-client, hugegraph-loader) before compiling Hubble itself. The backend service runs on localhost:36320 by default, and uses Spring Boot, MyBatis, H2, and other updated dependencies—check your environment for any version conflicts or missing packages. Testing is integrated via Maven and frontend tests use yarn testsource.
Recent backend refactoring (PR #632 and #685) introduced breaking changes, new API endpoints, and internationalization support, so review configuration files and ensure frontend-backend connectivity matches the new patterns. Error messages and validation logic for graph connections, schema, and jobs have been updated—refer to the i18n messages for troubleshooting backend accessibility issues source.
If you encounter blockers, check for environment mismatches, outdated configuration, or missing dependencies. The onboarding docs and .serena/memories/ directory provide detailed troubleshooting and workflow guidance source.
