The "move to trash" feature has never worked for me. The delete always did, but now it's gone, forcing me to manually open the finder window, navigate to the file and delete it via the OS or cmd line. I've even tried setting file permissions to 777. Being able to actually delete files was a big reason I switched from sublime text.
@xealgo Could you please reopen this issue on the Tree View repository (that's the package which provides this functionality)? Or even better -- consider adding a comment to atom/tree-view#173 which is related.
@izuzak hey sorry, I did several google searches for this before posting, but I didn't really dig into the existing issues. I read the thread explaining the reason why just now. I posted this rather impulsively.
@xealgo No worries, and thanks for clarifying -- I didn't realize this was perhaps a different issue (I just thought that you didn't like moving things to trash for some reason 😅). The Samba angle might be relevant here. Can you confirm that moving to trash works as expected for files which you're not accessing via Samba?
Yeah, I just now opened a local folder in Atom and was able to move a file to the trash without an issue. I had also reported a bug a while back about Atom not responding when regaining focus, whenever a project via samba was opened..that however seems to have been fixed since.
