Summary

  • create hydrated bare repositories, publication workspaces, and buffered Git subprocess output beneath BUZZ_GIT_REPO_PATH
  • document that the configured path is ephemeral per-pod scratch rather than persistent Git state
  • apply persistence.git.size as the emptyDir.sizeLimit when Git persistence is disabled
  • add a focused assertion that hydrated repositories live beneath the configured scratch root

Validation

  • bin/cargo fmt --check
  • bin/cargo check -p buzz-relay --lib
  • focused scratch-placement test (1 passed)
  • helm unittest deploy/charts/buzz (33/33 passed)
  • helm lint deploy/charts/buzz (passed; existing missing local postgres/redis dependency warning)
  • push hook suites passed with Hermit-managed Cargo

Note

The full relay library suite reached 654 passed / 16 ignored, with one unrelated failure in api::mesh_demo::tests::demo_join_forwarded_arm_round_trips_echo (504 vs 200). An isolated rerun reproduced that timeout; this change does not touch mesh demo code.

Local clean-room validation completed against exact PR head 336bce41ce590baf171d78ee1e4ccd72af6d0f62.

  • Fresh isolated Postgres/Redis/MinIO stack; preboot public table count verified as 0
  • Greenfield automigration succeeded: 51 public tables, 18 SQLx migrations, one deployment community
  • Readiness 200 and startup S3 A3 conformance probe passed
  • Live Git-over-MinIO suite passed 2/2:
    • clone → initial/fast-forward/force/tag pushes → fresh-clone recovery
    • 8 simultaneous pushes from one base → exactly one CAS winner, final tip recovered
  • Runtime filesystem sampling observed 947 scratch paths beneath the configured BUZZ_GIT_REPO_PATH; 0 sampled paths outside it
  • Whole cargo test -p buzz-relay: 654 passed, 16 ignored, 1 failed. The sole mesh-demo echo timeout reproduced 3/3 on this PR and 1/1 on current main SHA 54f4165942ab5b3e2cf1fa1b47bbb907587cd5f4; it is unrelated to this Git/chart diff.

Merge-gate verdict for #1884: PASS.
