the frame buffers being captured and written to disk during recording are always red with different grades of red for different regions of the frame
I believe the way bmp files written to disk does not reflect the possible pixel encoding of the server (bpp and red, green and blue shifts). While Vnc client can decode it correctly because the server setting are being passed to the client by AutoGUI, AutoGUI does not take these configurations while writing captured bmps to disk.
