See what is filling the drive before you delete anything.
DiskSight is a native macOS app (SwiftUI + GRDB) that maps a drive as a treemap drawn to scale, finds duplicates, stale files and cache bloat, and tracks what keeps growing between scans. Everything it removes goes to the Trash. There is no permanent delete anywhere in the app.
App replica with demo data. More at cxventures.io/products/disksight.
- Treemap, Sunburst and Icicle views with drill-down, so the folder eating the drive is the biggest rectangle on screen
- Duplicate detection on content, not names (size grouping → partial hash → full hash)
- Stale files: nothing has opened or modified them in a threshold you set
- Cache detection with safety-coded cleanup recommendations
- Growth hotspots: scan history shows which folders are gaining on you
- Smart Cleanup: a rule engine you configure, with optional local Ollama classification
- Live monitoring via FSEvents, plus a menu-bar agent that keeps the index fresh (on
main, not yet in a release) - A read-only MCP server so Claude or another agent can tell you what is worth clearing. It has no delete tool: only you, in the app, can clear anything. See docs/mcp.md. (On
main, not yet in a release.)

Download the DMG from Releases.
-
Build from source (macOS 14+, Xcode 15+):
git clone https://github.com/cxrobx/DiskSight.git && cd DiskSight xcodebuild -scheme DiskSight -destination 'platform=macOS' build
Grant Full Disk Access (System Settings → Privacy & Security) for complete coverage. Without it DiskSight still runs, and it tells you what it could not read instead of quietly reporting a smaller number.
