• File opener settings and both file-link menus show plugin names, such as “Docs (Markdown).”
• Automatic selections identify the plugin while saved preferences keep their existing IDs.

How you verified

• Chrome for Testing 155: desktop/mobile settings and both file-link menus displayed plugin names.
• Selecting Docs survived reload with the existing simple-notes:docs preference.
• Remote CI: all selected checks passed, including the updated preference regression.
• Slop Cop at 9c705659a07f4adb2a665a02855e0591541acc36: all five panels passed with no findings.
