Insiders Feedback: Huge regression

[jwg2s]

Version: Insiders

Feature: Open new pull request

Feedback: The interactive form to create a pull request is a huge regression. I have to take manual action now with seemingly no way around it, when the agent already knows all the information it needs to create the PR without my involvement.

Thanks for feedback, actually we only show this if a client says it supports MCP Apps so most headless agents do not, but there are edges cases to that of course (like autonomous session in an agent that supports apps).

There is a feature flag that turns this feature off you can pass via config for now:

mcp_apps_disable_form_deferral

Configuration info is here: https://github.com/github/github-mcp-server/blob/main/docs/feature-flags.md

The removal of the gated feature in the open source repo is because the gate was already open on the hosted server and we want to make sure the they are in sync.

Whether we should have apps is another question, but trying to unblock you regardless.

Thanks, that worked!
