The Export Media modal offers two sources. One explains itself and the other doesn't:
Edited media (3 cuts, saves 12.4s) — or (no strikeouts or skipped silences), filled live from the transcript
Entire media — nothing
So the option that ships someone's original file, untouched is the one that never says so. A user who has struck words out has no indication, at the point of choosing, that this option keeps every one of them in the exported audio or video.
Proposal: Entire media (original audio or video file), with a line making the consequence plain — the file is exported as it is, nothing is cut, and anything struck out is still in it. Edited media already carries its consequence in the summary; this just gives the other option the same courtesy.
The Interactive Transcript modal has the same gap. It explains how the media is linked — same folder, or a full URL — and says nothing about cuts. It references the original media, so struck speech is present there too, and someone exporting a transcript of a redacted interview would reasonably expect otherwise.
Wording matters more than mechanism here. It should be plain about what someone is about to hand over, without implying the editor has done something to the media that it hasn't.
