Summary

Adds a per-model prompt-length price policy to Models → Price, next to the four base USD-per-1M rates:

  • Automatic (default) keeps the catalog's prompt-length rules. It is stored as absent, so a saved row is identical to a legacy override.
  • Flat rate uses the base rates at every prompt length and replaces catalog context rules.
  • Custom threshold takes one positive safe-integer threshold, a > or ≥ comparator, and four absolute long-prompt rates. The threshold counts the whole prompt, including cache reads and writes but excluding output, and once crossed it reprices the entire request.

When a custom threshold is crossed, Fast/Priority follows the catalog's confirmed Priority relation for the model:

Relation Result
stack or none custom rates × Priority multiplier, applied once
lower-bound custom rates without the multiplier; the estimate is flagged as a lower bound
exclusive base rates × Priority multiplier; the custom band is not applied

customThresholdApplied is set only when the custom rates are actually used.

Write paths:

  • The management PUT replaces one complete model row after concurrent reconciliation and preserves sibling models. Reset removes the whole override, and estimate caches are invalidated.
  • ocx models set-price reads the current row first and carries that model's policy forward, so changing a base rate no longer drops a custom band. --auto clears the policy. The receipt compares policies canonically, treating absent and automatic as equal.

GUI: the policy is chosen with a radio group that has help text, and the custom band uses the shared Select for the comparator. The cost contract lives in a pure module (gui/src/components/model-price-cost.ts) with its own tests. The dialog body scrolls while the actions stay pinned. Validation is per field (aria-invalid plus focus on the first error). A blank cache rate means 0, but unparseable cache text is rejected rather than saved as 0. All 11 locales, the English and translated configuration docs, the management API and CLI references, and structure/pricing.md are updated. These figures remain opencodex estimates, and official price lists are unchanged.

Screenshots are uploaded to the fork's pr-assets branch and are not part of this PR branch.

Verification

Current head: f098a981d, rebased onto dev 862b8f1c8. This reconciles current catalog pricing, both Anthropic OAuth pools, and config account-selection changes.

  • Tests use the repository-pinned Bun 1.4.0, selected with OCX_TEST_RUNNER_BUN. Runtime/dependency installation uses Bun 1.4.2.
  • Focused integration: bun test tests/usage/usage-prompt-length-pricing.test.ts tests/usage/usage-haiku-5-5-pricing.test.ts tests/server/model-costs-prompt-length-pricing.test.ts tests/server/model-costs-pricing-cache.test.ts tests/cli/cli-models-prompt-length-pricing.test.ts tests/cli/cli-models-price.test.ts using the pinned executable — 207 pass, 0 fail including tests/config/hub-disable-live-save.test.ts.
  • New Automatic Haiku coverage checks 99,999 / 100,000 / 100,001 inclusive prompt tokens, cache reads/writes, all four operator base rates, inherited catalog multipliers, absent and explicit Automatic policies, request and attempt estimates, and anthropic, anthropic2, anthropic-apikey, and claude-cli.
  • GUI validation on the preceding head ec759ebf7 (GUI source/test files unchanged by this rebase): cd gui; bun run test (pinned runner, --isolate tests) — 3,245 pass, 0 fail, across 337 files. bun run lint, bun run lint:i18n, and bun run build passed. Build retains the existing large-chunk warning.
  • Historical GUI failure remains documented: the October 8 GUI run reported 3,009 pass and one failure, late initial GET after unmount cannot write, publish a receipt or reset busy. A solo rerun passed then; that did not establish a cause or a fix. The original assertion/stack log was not retained. The test and ModelPickerOrderEditor are unchanged from that head; this test now passes within the complete supported GUI suite (4.46ms). The earlier failure is not reproduced; its cause is unproven, and no speculative GUI fix is claimed.
  • bun run typecheck, bun run structure:check, bun run privacy:scan, and git diff --check passed.
  • Cross-platform CI, React Doctor, and Catalog async contracts on this head remain action_required; these are not passing results.
  • Docs: cd docs-site; bun run build passed: 569 pages, 79,313 internal links checked.

  • Security-sensitive changes were reviewed for secrets, auth, and unsafe defaults.

Review readiness checklist

This PR stays in draft until every box below is ticked. Tick all four boxes once the requirements are met:

  • Required local validation passed; commands, results, and any full-suite exception are documented.

  • I pushed my PR to a recent dev commit (at most 10 behind; a maintainer may still ask for the exact tip before merge).

  • I resolved all correct Codex and CodeRabbit findings.

  • My PR is ready for review.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added prompt-length pricing options for model cost overrides: automatic catalog rules, flat rates, or custom rates selected by an input-token threshold.
    • Custom thresholds support strict or inclusive comparisons. Cached input counts toward the threshold, output does not, and selected rates apply to the full request.
    • Added controls for configuring pricing modes in the model pricing dialog. Fast and Priority adjustments continue to apply according to supported pricing rules.
    • CLI, management API, and provider settings now support retaining and reporting prompt-length pricing policies.
  • Documentation

    • Updated pricing guidance across supported languages, including validation limits, estimate behavior, and reset instructions.

Walkthrough

The change adds automatic, flat, and custom prompt-length pricing to model-cost overlays. It applies these policies to cost estimates, supports their persistence through the management API and CLI, and adds controls to the model-price editor. Documentation and tests cover the policy behavior and integrations.

Changes

Prompt-length pricing policy and estimates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Policy contract and estimate calculation
src/types/provider.ts, src/types.ts, src/usage/*, tests/usage/usage-prompt-length-pricing.test.ts
ProviderCostOverlay can include automatic, flat, or custom prompt-length pricing. Cost estimates select rates using input-token thresholds, account for applicable Priority behavior, and mark estimates that use custom rates.

Model-cost writes and reconciliation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Model-cost writes and reconciliation
src/cli/models-runtime.ts, src/config/live-reconcile.ts, src/config/schema/leaf-validators.ts, src/server/management/model-routes.ts, tests/cli/*, tests/server/model-costs-*, scripts/test-layout/layout.json, tests/fixtures/test-layout-expected.json
The CLI accepts and preserves prompt-length policies during manual rate updates, while --auto removes the override. The management route validates and persists row replacements, and reconciliation preserves sibling model rows. Tests cover policy receipts, validation, persistence, reconciliation, and estimate-cache updates.

Model-price editor and validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Model-price editor and validation
gui/src/components/ModelPriceDialog.tsx, gui/src/components/model-price-cost.ts, gui/src/components/model-price-dialog.css, gui/src/i18n/*, gui/tests/model-price-cost.test.ts, gui/tests/models-price-editor.test.tsx
The dialog supports automatic, flat, and custom pricing modes. Shared helpers parse and compare model costs, load and validate drafts, and match receipts. The UI adds custom-threshold controls and field-level validation; translations and tests cover the added behavior.

Pricing documentation and references

Layer / File(s) Summary
Pricing documentation and references
docs-site/src/content/docs/**/reference/configuration/providers.md, docs-site/src/content/docs/reference/cli/providers-accounts.md, docs-site/src/content/docs/reference/management-api.md, structure/pricing.md, structure/INDEX.md, structure/manifest.json, structure/config.md, structure/dashboard-and-usage.md, structure/gui-and-management-api.md
The documentation describes the policy modes, token counting, rate selection, reset behavior, and API and CLI handling. Structure documentation links the pricing contract to related code.

179-180: Validation focus fails for every field when a pricing value has no ref entry.

At line 179, customFieldRefs.current[outcome.field] is the only focus target. The base rate inputs register themselves in that map at lines 203-206, so base-field errors can receive focus. The custom inputs exist only while pricingMode === "custom". In that mode, buildDraftCost can return a custom field error only when those inputs are mounted. Focus therefore works in every path that can be reached. The single remaining gap is a timing gap: when the mode was switched in the same render, a field might not have a ref yet. No change is required.

⚠️ Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

Label this mode as a flat rate, not a fixed fee.

Line 3599 uses “Sabit ücret,” which suggests one fixed charge. This mode instead keeps the base per-token rates at every prompt length, as Line 3603 explains. Use “Sabit fiyat” or another Turkish label that describes an unchanged rate, so the pricing choice does not imply a one-time fee.

As per coding guidelines, “Keep dashboard behavior aligned with the management API and provider configuration model.”

Document the exclusive Priority case.

When a custom threshold is crossed during a confirmed Priority request with an exclusive catalog relation, the estimator uses base rates and applies the Priority multiplier. It does not use the custom rates. The current wording can imply that crossing the threshold always selects custom rates. State this exception in English and each translated section.

State the exclusive Priority exception in the custom-rate help.

Line 3587 says the custom rates replace the catalog rule for the entire request and that Priority adjustments still apply. For an exclusive Priority rule, the estimate uses base rates with the multiplier, not the custom rates. A user selecting custom rates can therefore misread the resulting Priority estimate. Add that exception to this help text. As per coding guidelines, “Keep dashboard behavior aligned with the management API and provider configuration model.”

Update the "pricing.override.modeCustomHelp" translation to clarify that when
the exclusive Priority rule applies, its estimate uses base rates with the
Priority multiplier rather than custom rates; preserve the existing explanation
of other adjustments.

@lidge-jun bump? This would properly fix all models like Haiku that have different pricing based on context load.
Did Haiku55 get a specific treatment about it?

Yes—current dev f189b33 already contains a Haiku 5.5-specific catalog context band, separately from this configurable policy: the exact-head table uses a strictly greater-than-100000 input-token boundary and scales all four rate categories. The dedicated regression file covers that boundary and exact provider/model mappings. This is a statement about the checked-in estimator, not a fresh verification of vendor billing or every reseller's price.

#6738 remains a distinct feature: per-model Automatic/Flat/Custom overrides, not the prerequisite for that default Haiku catalog band. I inspected its rate-selection/persistence delta and the custom-boundary regressions; I have not approved the complete GUI/config change.

Before a current-head approval, please rebase/reconcile with current dev: b628001 is now 103 dev commits behind (the live comparison is diverged), which includes the Haiku pricing work above. Keep the reported full-GUI failure visible; a solo passing rerun does not establish that the suite-order failure is resolved. Exact-head Cross-platform CI remains action_required, not passing. Please update the verification/readiness attestation for the resulting head and include Automatic Haiku boundary coverage so the new override policy and current catalog rules are tested together.

Models -> Price gains Automatic, Flat rate, and Custom threshold policies on
top of the four base rates. A custom threshold (> or >=) counts the whole
prompt including cache reads/writes and reprices the entire request.

- Crossed custom thresholds honour the catalog's confirmed Priority relation:
stack applies the multiplier once, lower-bound uses the custom rates as a
floor estimate, exclusive falls back to base rates with the multiplier.
- Automatic is stored as absent, so a saved row is byte-identical to a
  legacy override.
- PUT replaces one complete model row after reconciliation; ocx models
set-price carries the existing policy forward and --auto clears it.
- GUI: radio policy picker with help text, custom band using the shared
Select, pure cost contract module, per-field validation that rejects
unparseable cache rates instead of saving them as zero.
- Docs, structure/pricing.md and all GUI locales updated.
