fix(providers): backfill Token Plan output limits on roster refresh - #7576
Conversation
The stale roster migration filled context windows and default efforts for the dated IDs it adds, but not output limits. A custom catalog row passes the saved provider straight to routedMaxOutputTokens, so a row that already had a partial modelMaxOutputTokens map published deepseek-v4.1-flash-1017 without the registry limit whenever discovery and generated metadata had none. The refresh now fills the added IDs into an existing map from the Token Plan seed and keeps any value the operator already saved. Refs #7555

…n rows A row the earlier refresh already moved to the current roster no longer matches the previous seed, so it never reached the new output-limit fill and its partial modelMaxOutputTokens map stayed incomplete. A row whose list is exactly the current roster now gets only its missing output limits; operator values and absent maps stay untouched, and windows and efforts are not revisited because the earlier pass already filled them. Summary
The Token Plan saved-roster refresh in
src/providers/stale-model-roster-migration.tsadds dated IDs such asdeepseek-v4.1-flash-1017and already fills their context window and default effort into maps the row has. It did not fill output limits. The normal routed request path merges registry limits beforeopenai-chatreads them, but custom catalog rows pass the saved provider straight toroutedMaxOutputTokens(src/codex/catalog/model-hints.ts). A row that already had a partialmodelMaxOutputTokensmap therefore published the added ID with no output limit whenever discovery and generated metadata had none. Before: a saved Beijing or International Token Plan row with the previous seed roster and
modelMaxOutputTokens: { "qwen3.8-max": 4096 }refreshes to the new roster, androutedMaxOutputTokensreturnsundefinedfordeepseek-v4.1-flash-1017.After: the refresh fills each added ID from
ALIBABA_TOKEN_PLAN_MAX_OUTPUT_TOKENSinto that existing map (393,216 fordeepseek-v4.1-flash-1017), so the catalog publishes the registry limit. The fill follows the rules the context-window and effort fills already use. It never overwrites a value the operator saved for an added ID, and it never creates the map when the row has none, because enrichment fills these records all-or-nothing and a one-key map would hide the rest of the registry seed. A row that an earlier refresh already moved to the current roster no longer matches the previous seed, so it also gets a metadata-only pass: when its list is exactly the current registry roster, missing output limits for the added IDs are filled into its existing map. MiniMax entries are unchanged since their registry rows carry no per-model output limits.
structure/providers-and-adapters.mdnow names output limits in the existing Token Plan refresh sentence. The edit stays inside that line, so the file remains at its 600-line budget.Refs #7555
