## Fork Workflow Pattern

When contributing to upstream projects via a fork:

### Remote Naming Convention
```bash
# origin = upstream (the original project)
# <org-name> = your fork
git remote add origin https://github.com/upstream-org/project.git
git remote add myorg https://github.com/myorg/project.git
### PR Strategy
1. **Upstream PRs**: Push branch to fork, create PR targeting upstream `main`
2. **Intra-fork PRs**: For changes not ready for upstream, create PR within fork
3. **Branch hierarchy**: Feature branches based on fix branches for incremental work
```bash
# Push fixes upstream
gh pr create --repo upstream-org/project --head myorg:fix/branch --base main

# Intra-fork PR for additional work
gh pr create --repo myorg/project --head feat/new-feature --base fix/branch
```
### Archived Upstream Actions
Before inheriting CI workflows from upstream, verify all GitHub Actions are still maintained:
```bash
# Check if an action's repo is archived
gh api repos/OWNER/ACTION-REPO --jq '.archived'
```
Common archived TYPO3 CI actions:
- `TYPO3-Continuous-Integration/TYPO3-CI-Xliff-Lint` — archived 2021, Docker image 403
- Always check `TYPO3-Continuous-Integration/*` repos before relying on them
## Best Practices
1. **Keep root clean**: Only essential config files at root
