[Bug]: Keyboard shortcuts settings – group headings sit too close to the previous group #17541

Closed

Description

@HerbCaudill

Area

apps/web

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Settings → Keyboard shortcuts.
  2. Scroll to where one group ends and the next starts (for example, from the Thread group into "Composer").

Expected behavior

Each group heading has clearly more space above it than below it, so it reads as the label for the card that follows.

Actual behavior

Image

The heading has only a small gap above it, roughly the same as the gap below it. It looks squeezed between two cards, and it isn't obvious which group it belongs to.

    Reproduced on current main in the web client: the gap between the Thread card and the "Composer" heading measures 0px (10px below the heading), at every group boundary on the page.

    Cause: SettingsPageContainer spaces sections with flex flex-col gap-8, but the keybindings page wraps all groups in one <div inert={!canWriteSettings}>, so the 32px gap applies only around that wrapper, not between the groups inside it. Other settings pages are unaffected.

    Fix with before/after screenshots and measurements: #17766
