[Bug]: iOS: a file shared into a new task isn't visible in the composer until the message is sent #21651
I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.
Area
apps/mobile
Steps to reproduce
In the iOS Files app, share a non-image file to T3 Code. (Earlier cases were a .json backup shared from inside the app that created it and a .zip of swim meet results containing a .hy3 file.)
T3 Code opens "Start a task." Choose Start without a project.
Look at the new-task composer.
Swipe the sheet closed without sending.
I reproduced this again on purpose with a fresh share from Files, and got the same result.
Expected behavior
The shared file appears in the composer's attachment strip (with the file icon), so I can see and remove it before sending.
Actual behavior
The composer showed no attachment. I couldn't tell anything was attached.
After I closed the sheet, the Threads list showed it under Unsent as "No project · Draft · 1 attachment." That was the only sign of the file.
Reopening that draft from Unsent still shows no attachment in the composer. The file is never visible or removable before sending; I only saw it after sending a message.
I only saw the file after I sent the message.
Impact
Minor bug or occasional failure. You can't see or remove a file before it's sent. Combined with the loop below, I didn't know a file was stuck at all.
Before this, the shared item kept reopening "Start a task" on every cold launch, even after I dismissed it, for days, without showing what had been shared. Once I cleared it by choosing a project, an older share (a .zip from over a week earlier) started popping up the same way. That looks like what #11488 fixes, so I'm not filing it separately. I've added a note there.
Confirmed on main, so this is accepted as a bug. The composer's attachment strip shows only images and videos (composerImages.ts:85-91). A non-media file is meant to appear as an inline reference in the prompt instead. Files picked inside the app get that reference (new-task-flow-provider.tsx:617-627). A shared file is merged into the draft by mergeComposerDraftContent, which adds the attachment without writing a reference (use-composer-drafts.ts:1545-1589). The share's text holds only shared text and links (incoming-share-model.ts:176-180). So a shared .json or .zip ends up in the draft with nothing in the composer that shows it, which matches what you saw.
This is separate from the cold-launch share prompt you linked to #11488. That PR doesn't change these files.

For reference, here is what it looks like when I swipe down after clicking "no project."
