What happened
File and folder labels in the right-panel Files surface are much smaller than the surrounding interface and do not respond to Settings → Appearance → Interface font size.
This is especially noticeable after increasing Interface font size for readability: the rest of the interface grows, while the Files tree remains at the same small size. On macOS, disabling font smoothing makes the labels heavier but does not fix their size. This creates a readability and accessibility inconsistency.
What I expected
The Files tree should scale with Interface font size, whose description covers everything outside code blocks and the terminal.
If the Files tree intentionally needs independent sizing, it should expose a dedicated setting. The compact default can remain visually secondary, but file and folder names should preserve a readable size relationship with the rest of the interface.
Steps to reproduce
- Open a project or thread in the T3 Code web or desktop client.
- Open the right panel and select Files.
- Note the size of the file and folder labels.
- Open Settings → Appearance and increase Interface font size from the default 16 to 20.
- Return to Files.
- Observe that surrounding interface text grows, but the file and folder labels remain unchanged at 12px.
Additional context
- Reproduces consistently on T3 Code desktop for macOS.
- Observed on the current build as of 2026-08-22; exact packaged version was not captured.
- Whole-app zoom enlarges the tree, but also enlarges every other UI element and is not an appropriate granular workaround.
- Code font size is documented for code blocks, diffs, and file previews; the workspace tree is interface navigation, so Interface font size is the expected control.
