Problem

The Custom snooze dialog (Date and time tab) used two different picker styles side by side:

  • Date opens a custom DayPicker calendar in a PopoverPopup with the app's
dropdown-glass surface and primary/accent selection tokens.
  • Time was a native <input type="time">, so its dropdown was rendered by
the browser — light gray/blue, no dark-mode support, matching neither the
calendar nor the rest of the app.

Fix

Replaced the native time input with a TimeField that mirrors the Date field:

  • Outline button trigger showing the formatted time with a clock icon.
  • PopoverPopup with Hour / Minute / AM-PM radiogroup columns styled with the
same selection tokens as the calendar (bg-primary text-primary-foreground
    selected, hover:bg-accent otherwise).
  • Respects Settings → timestamp format: 12-hour shows Hour/Minute/AM-PM,
24-hour shows Hour (00–23)/Minute, locale auto-detects via Intl.
  • The time state stays "HH:MM", so resolveCustomSnooze and all validation
    are unchanged.

Verification

  • tsc --noEmit in apps/web: clean.
  • vp lint on the file: clean. Formatted with vp fmt.
  • vp test run on customSnooze.test.ts, Sidebar.snooze.test.ts,
    threadActionMenu.logic.test.ts: 38 passed.
  • Drove the real app in headless Edge (dark mode) against an isolated dev
server with a seeded thread: opened Snooze → Custom…, opened the time
popover, picked 09 + PM, and confirmed the trigger reads 09:31 PM.

After picking 09 + PM, the trigger reads 09:31 PM:

Approvability

Verdict: Not approved

Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — The PR replaces the existing native time input with a new multi-column popover control and adds locale-aware formatting logic on the production custom-snooze path. The change is isolated and preserves the snooze data contract, but the new interaction surface is substantial enough to merit human review.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The snooze dialog replaces the native time input with a custom popover picker. The picker parses and formats HH:MM values, supports 12-hour and 24-hour displays, and provides keyboard navigation.

Custom snooze time picker

Layer / File(s) Summary
Time picker parsing, display, and integration
apps/web/src/components/CustomSnoozeDialog.tsx
The dialog uses TimeField instead of the native time input. TimeField resolves the clock format from client settings or locale data, formats snooze times, renders selectable time columns, and updates the existing time state. TimeColumn supports roving focus with Arrow, Home, and End keys.

I think it is important to emphasize that this PR isn't just a styling change; it also fixes the clock format to respect settings.

Personally, I don’t care whether this remains a native control or becomes custom. The requirement is that it honors T3’s clock-format setting. I just want to be able to use 24-hour format in the picker.

I thought this was maybe fixed with orchestrator v2, but sadly not.
