@juliusmarminge @maria-rcks could one of you take a look when you have a moment? Thanks, I appreciate your time. |

Note This comment is posted by Julius' dot The snooze screenshots show the Monday/Sunday change and resulting wake dates. Please also add screenshots of the Custom calendar before and after changing the first weekday from Monday to Sunday. Its week layout changes too, and helper tests do not replace the required UI evidence. |
On it. thanks! |

@juliusmarminge added Custom… calendar screenshots for Monday and Sunday to the description, under Verification. Thanks! |
Add a First day of the week setting (System default, Sunday, Monday). It decides where the "Next week" snooze lands and which day the Custom… snooze calendar starts on. System default keeps today's behavior: the calendar follows the locale and "Next week" stays on Monday. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

@juliusmarminge hate to bother you, but wdyt? i encounter it daily on thursdays and it make me miss stuff on sunday lol |
Problem
"Next week" in the snooze menu always lands on Monday 9:00. Teams whose work week starts on Sunday (Israel and much of the Middle East, for example) have no way to change that, and the Custom… snooze calendar's first day follows only the OS or browser locale.
Change
Adds a First day of the week setting under Settings → General with three options: System default, Sunday, Monday. It's a local client setting, like Time format.
resolveSnoozePresetstakes an optionalweekStartsOn, defaulting to Monday. As today, "Next week" is hidden when it would land on the same morning as "Tomorrow", which with Sunday weeks means on Saturdays.docs/user/thread-sidebar.md.Scope and approval
This is a focused configuration option for an established capability. Week start already exists: the snooze calendar reads it from the locale, and "Next week" hard-codes Monday. The option only picks which day both use. It adds no workflow, and the default behaves exactly as before. Proposed in Ideas #14633, which has no maintainer reply yet. #9011 tried a locale-only version and was closed for missing UI evidence; that evidence is below.
Verification
vp test runonSidebar.snooze.test.ts,timestampFormat.test.ts,settingsSearch.test.ts,threadSnoozed.test.tsand mobilethreadListV2.test.ts: 230 passed. New cases cover a Sunday week start (Friday → Sunday, and "Next week" hidden on Saturday) and the explicit setting overriding the locale for the calendar.contracts,client-runtime,webandmobile.The Custom… calendar, opened from the same snooze menu with each setting (en-US browser locale; the explicit setting overrides it):
