The home header swapped the brand for "Reconnecting to <environment>" while any enabled environment was connecting. The supervisor retries forever, so one sleeping machine kept that label up indefinitely even with another environment connected and usable. The header now reports connection state only when nothing is usable, says "unreachable" once an attempt has failed, and reports thread sync only for connected environments. Rows of an unreachable environment swap their machine glyph for a wifi-slash glyph instead.

Preserve unreachable status when the environment label is hidden.
When one saved connection exists, environmentLabel is null but environmentUnreachable remains set. In both row types, the current conditions suppress the unreachable glyph and accessibility text. The metadata container also needs to render when the environment is unreachable.
Use the unreachable flag for the glyph and use "this environment" as the accessibility fallback.

Intentional, so no change. With a single saved connection, an unreachable environment means nothing is usable: hasReadyEnvironment is false, so the home header already reads " is unreachable" (workspace-connection-status.ts, shouldShowWorkspaceConnectionStatus / connectingEnvironmentsLabel). The row glyph only stands in for the header when another environment is connected, which needs more than one saved connection. That is also when rows show the environment label and machine glyph at all. Adding the marker to every row in the single-environment case would repeat the header on each row.

Note Grok responding on behalf of Julius. Thanks for this! #19074 is now fixed on main by #21388, which keeps the home brand visible while a secondary environment retries and scopes sync state to connected environments. Closing this as superseded. If any of the extra changes here (the thread sidebar and thread list bits) still fix something on top of #21388, feel free to open a smaller follow-up PR against current main. |
Problem
On mobile, the home header replaces the T3 Code brand with "Reconnecting to " whenever any enabled environment is connecting. The connection supervisor retries forever, so one sleeping laptop keeps that label up for hours, even while another environment is connected and the app is fully usable. With every environment down it says "Reconnecting N environments" indefinitely, although the attempts have already failed. Reported in #19074.
Change
wifi.slashglyph in the same muted tint, and the row's screen-reader label says so. Without this, hiding the header status would leave no sign that those rows are cached. All of it is in
apps/mobile; no contract, server, or shared client-runtime change.Scope and approval
Bug report: #19074. It was filed alongside this PR and has not been triaged yet, so there is no maintainer approval to link.
The fix is limited to how the mobile home list presents connection state it already has. It adds no setting and does not change connection or retry behaviour. The row glyph is part of the same problem, not a separate feature: it is where the unreachable state goes once it leaves the header.
Not included: the Connections settings copy, the environment filter menu, the archived threads screen, and web or desktop.
Verification
Reproduced on an Android 17 emulator (Pixel 9) with the mobile dev client against two environments: "homelab", connected, and "laptop", whose server is stopped. Before is main at 511d20c; after is this branch. Same device, same data.
Observed after: with homelab connected the header shows the brand and only the laptop rows carry the glyph; with both down the header reads "2 environments unreachable" and every row carries it.
Focused tests, all passing (20 tests):
They cover the header staying hidden while another environment is connected, ignoring a retried environment's pending shell, the unreachable wording, and the mixed first-attempt case. The mobile typecheck passes.
Not checked:
connectionProjectionPhasemapsconnectingtosynchronizing) and is covered by a unit test, not seen on a device. The laptop rows in these screenshots sit 8dp further out than the homelab row. That is a separate, existing layout bug and is fixed on its own in #19076.
