Problem

Claude subscription limits show session and weekly allowances but omit usage credits, so users must open Claude to check their monthly credit spend. See Claude's usage credit guide.

#19897

Change

  • Add a Usage credits card below the weekly limits, showing spend against the monthly limit and the amount left under that limit. This represents monthly spending allowance; it does not claim to show a prepaid balance.
  • Normalize Claude's minor currency units and carry optional credit data through native and CLIProxy accounts, including accounts without quota windows. Preserve each credit read's time across quota updates so older spend cannot override a newer read.
  • Show credit details on web/desktop and mobile usage views and the usage-limits command.

Scope and approval

Maintainer approval has not been obtained. Submitted for consideration; direction and scope remain open to feedback. All changes support the one problem above.

Verification

92 focused tests pass:

pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/provider/claudeUsageLimits.test.ts apps/server/src/usage/cliproxyApi.test.ts packages/shared/src/usageLimits.test.ts packages/provider-core/src/server/usageLimits.test.ts

Scoped contracts/provider-core/shared/server/web/mobile type checks, targeted lint, formatting, and git diff --check pass. Checked the local web preview with live Claude data and reproduced the cross-environment stale-spend case against the fix. Native desktop and mobile builds have not been run.

Before - no usage credits card
image

After — the Usage credits card shows the monthly allowance left, spend, and limit.

Review follow-up — Two credit-only sample accounts with matching initials: one email revealed, the other hidden. Checked independent reveal and hide in the local web preview.

Approvability

Verdict: Needs Human Approval

Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — This PR adds a new Claude subscription usage-credit capability across server parsing, cross-environment aggregation, and web/mobile presentation, including new user-facing cards and management links. The scope and production runtime surface are broader than a small self-contained change, so the cross-cutting behavior merits human review.

📝 Walkthrough

Claude extra-usage data now flows from provider responses through usage-limit processing and account aggregation to mobile and web displays. The interfaces show formatted credit details and, when available, remaining-balance information.

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to b9faa

Credit-only accounts can display their usage credits. No actionable merge blocker is established; proceed with normal checks.

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to b9faa

The change adds subscription spending information to existing usage views without adding account-management powers or new network destinations in the reviewed paths. No material security regression was established. Provider omission semantics and mixed-version behavior remain partly unverified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The added exposure is account-level subscription spend and allowance information distributed through existing usage presentations. Inspected consumers display this information rather than using it to authorize requests, select providers or enforce spending.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — A controlled provider or proxy response could influence displayed credit values and currency text. In the examined rendering paths, those values remain text, and management links use a fixed Claude settings URL rather than a response-controlled destination. This trace did not establish an execution or credential-exfiltration path.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — New credit cards reuse existing email-reveal controls when identifying an account by email. These controls reduce incidental visual disclosure; they are not an authorization boundary, because the client already receives the account value.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Aggregation deliberately retains available credit data when another report omits it, and equal credit timestamps keep the first selected source. Provider omission versus authoritative clearing semantics are not established by the available contract evidence. The demonstrated consequence is potentially stale presentation, not a weakened spending-control guarantee.

Not sure if this would belong in a separate PR but it would be nice to account for monthly resets of account credits on enterprise plans in particular.
Seems like this PR would cover the available spend limit on enterprise plans but not the date that a spend limit is reset reported in Claude Code:
image
That being said Claude Code doesn't actually seem to get this information from an endpoint and instead arbitrarily uses the first day of the month. This is not very accurate.

let Q = new Date;
let K = new Date(Q.getFullYear(), Q.getMonth() + 1, 1);  // 1st of next month, local time
G = K.toISOString();
...
F = { utilization: E, resets_at: G };
Z = `${A} / ${j} spent`                                  // "$150.04 / $150.00 spent"

Thanks for this. I'm closing it as part of PR triage. Right now we're only taking focused bug fixes from outside contributors (see Read this first), and this PR is not one.

From the review: This adds Claude paid-plan spending, monthly caps, and remaining credits across the server, web, and mobile clients. That new usage-reporting capability needs maintainer agreement first.

If you think this was a mistake, message me on Twitter at @maria_rcks and I'll take another look.
