ApprovabilityVerdict: Approved at Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a narrowly scoped ACP bug fix that restores existing T3 instructions only after context compaction, preserves slash commands and normal prompts, and includes focused regression tests. It does not change schemas, defaults, deployment behavior, or security-sensitive code. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

compactedSinceInstructionInjection to clear only the marker present when
resolvePromptParts constructed the prompt, preserving any compaction marker
added while runtime.prompt is running. Use a per-session generation if a boolean
marker cannot distinguish a new compaction from the one observed during prompt
construction.
- Around line 3065-3069: Update the explicit `/compact` success branch to add
`context.nativeThreadId` to `compactedSinceInstructionInjection` before emitting
the completed compaction item. Preserve existing entries in the set so
subsequent unchanged-state prompts retain the T3 instructions.

…tion After an ACP agent compacts its context, the model's history is replaced by a summary that may no longer contain the T3 instruction block. Since the interaction mode and tool availability did not change, the block was never re-injected and the agent lost the T3 collaborative-browser and orchestration tools for the rest of the session. Track sessions whose context was compacted since the last instruction injection: - t3AcpPromptWithInstructions accepts an optional compactedSinceLastInjection flag; when set, the instruction blocks are re-injected even if the injected state is unchanged. Slash commands remain untouched. - The ACP adapter marks a session where the acp-compaction: tool call reaches completed (next to the existing context-usage reset), clears the mark once a prompt has actually re-injected the instructions, and resets it when the ACP runtime is replaced. Taking over this one for the other-providers-05 maintainer batch. I’ll preserve your commits and push here after replacing helper-only coverage with adapter-level compaction regressions, checking the injection race and native /compact fallback, and running independent reviews. Thanks @antonsxh. |

ACP compaction can replace the model's history with a summary that omits T3's browser and orchestration instructions. Later prompts then omit those instructions because interaction mode and MCP availability have not changed.
The ACP adapter now tracks a unique pending marker for each session compaction and resends the existing instruction block on the next ordinary prompt. It clears only the marker observed by a prompt that actually injected instructions, preserving compactions that complete while that prompt runs. Successful native
/compactalso marks the session when no protocol compaction update arrives; failed compaction does not. Slash commands remain untouched and do not consume pending reinjection. Rollback that replaces the runtime clears the tracking state.Maintainer takeover of #21053, preserving @antonsxh's commits and the compaction/native-fallback fixes from review. Main was merged without rewriting the contributor branch. Removed the new shared instruction-helper flag: omitting cached instruction state in the adapter already requests reinjection. Production changes stay in the adapter. Unique markers also prevent an older prompt completion from matching a later compaction after the previous marker was cleared; no counter or second state map is needed.
Fixes #21036.
Verification:
/compactcase./compact/compactwithout protocol update → slash command → ordinary promptTwo full-diff review rounds by independent Claude and Codex agents finished with no code findings in round 2. Current-head CI passed, including web/server tests, build/typecheck and lint. A cancelled duplicate fingerprint run has a successful replacement. CodeRabbit reports a successful status with “Review rate limited”; this is not a fresh hosted bot approval. Round 1 identified possible counter reuse after a delayed completion; unique marker identity removes that reuse. The cancellation-timeout sequence itself was not experimentally reproduced.
Provider-core, provider-acp and server typechecks, formatting and diff checks passed. Targeted lint has only three pre-existing warnings. This is a nonvisual adapter change, so screenshots are not applicable. Real provider compaction, macOS, Windows, iOS, Android and Electron desktop were not verified; no paid provider turn was attempted.
