Decide Whether #2033 Merges Over Unstated Copilot Coverage #2034

Closed

Description

@ptr727

May #2033 merge to develop although pr_review.py exits 45, COVERAGE_IS_UNSTATED, on its head?

Context

Handoff #2030 (track auto-2028) fixes #2028 in #2033, head 3e285f38, one changed file (host-setup/agent-safety/claude/gh-write-guard.py). Every other Merge Gate item holds: checks 10/10, unresolved=0, suppressed=0, shapes ok, and the run's develop scope answers the permission item. The digest's own text says merging without stated coverage is the maintainer's decision, so this unattended lane parked rather than merged.

Coverage evidence read by hand from both Copilot rounds on 3e285f38, both in the ccr-overview-v2 format, which states no file-coverage line (the shape #1692 measured):

  • Round 1 (review 5347043616): Findings: None. Its "What changed in this PR" table lists host-setup/agent-safety/claude/gh-write-guard.py, the only file in the pull request. No other collapsed section.
  • Round 2 (review 5347085050, requested explicitly per the exit's remedy): Findings: 1, Open (1), matching the one thread. That thread (an optional request to restore an explanatory comment) was declined with evidence and resolved: reverting the fix fails the new self-test rows.
  • CodeRabbit, prompted, reviewed the same range and generated no actionable comments.

Options

  1. Recommended: merge Bound the Guard's Stdin Descriptor Before int() #2033 to develop. The one changed file is named in round 1's file table and every finding across both rounds is answered, which is the hand proof the Promote develop to main: Narrow the Wait-Loop Bound and Harden Review and Setup Tooling #2000 promotion was merged on. The next unattended run's worker merges it and closes the lane out.
  2. Request further Copilot rounds until one states coverage. A ccr-overview-v2 Round States No File Coverage, and the Exit-45 Remedy Cannot Clear It #1692 measured this at roughly one round in four stating coverage, so it may take several rounds and re-open the finding loop on each.
  3. Leave Bound the Guard's Stdin Descriptor Before int() #2033 open for an attended drive. The branch and pull request stay as they are, and the maintainer drives the merge in person.

Blocks: #2033. Belongs to handoff #2030.

    Answered by the maintainer: squash-merge as is, coverage unstated. #2033 merged to develop as dd4ca98.
