Hide the Home Directory in install-tools.sh Report Notes as the Windows Script Does #2260
host-setup/linux/install-tools.sh writes the absolute path of a shadowing or downloaded copy into a tool's report note as it is. A uv placed by its own installer under a user's home directory, which commonly comes before /usr/local/bin on PATH, therefore puts that home path, and with it the account name, into the note.
host-setup/windows/install-tools.ps1 runs every path it prints through Hide-Home, on the stated ground that a report is written to be pasted elsewhere. The Linux script has no equivalent, so the same note discloses the account on one platform and not on the other.
Why It Matters Now
The table has always done this. The --json report from #1645 exists for a scheduled reporter that sends its findings somewhere else, so the note now travels further than a terminal.
Fix Shape
Give the Linux script a Hide-Home peer that rewrites a leading $HOME to ~, and route every path a note names through it.
Activity
Give install-tools a JSON Report Mode a Program Can Read (#2259)
