Corrects the WORKFLOW.md statements that #1527 and its four comments reported as contradicted by the tree, each checked against the tree before it was changed.

  • Section 6, hugo row: the secret mapping is explained by the task declaring the secret required, and the value the job reads comes from the task's own environment: binding for a secret the environment defines. The accepted environment names (production, staging) are stated. The deploy hook's build run must leave releases/<release-id>/ and current under bundle-path.
  • Section 6, library row: the S9 path is a push re-run, and the stub citation is replaced by D1.2 alone.
  • Section 6, eda and docker rows: the contradictory "no leaf for S1" and "version injection" clauses are gone, and the develop leg pushes develop plus the version tag.
  • Section 4:
    • D9.1 exempts local (./) and self-repository ($/) references from pinning, as does GOVERNANCE.md "Workflow YAML Conventions".
    • D4.1 states the output comparison itself rather than pointing at D7.3.
    • D7.3 drops the input's reason for outputs.
    • D6.2 is scoped to a called workflow.
    • D6.3 requires that the name carry the branch, not a suffix.
    • D1.1 drops the filter-shape claim.
    • D1.6 gives a Python-only reason and fixes the threshold binding.
    • D4.5 states the shared-base and multi-image Docker limit.
    • D5.2's heading matches its package-job rule.
  • Already fixed on develop, no edit: D4.1's "first plan job" and D9.3's one-line run: question. D4.1 now reads "A plan job", and D9.3 says multi-line blocks.

The generated workflow-ci-contract includes are regenerated. Local gates (build_dist --check, prose gate, spec/validate.py, docker_lint) pass, and a local strict review pass is recorded.

Fixes #1527. This targets develop, so the issue closes on promotion.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Clarified how branch names are used in artifact names and how called workflows derive configuration.
    • Added detail on workflow output comparisons, path filters, validation coverage reports, and Codecov status options.
    • Expanded guidance on release and package cleanup conditions, Docker partial-push outcomes, and recovery routes.
    • Clarified when external actions and reusable workflows require SHA pinning, with exceptions for local and same-repository references.
    • Updated workflow examples covering Docker tags, EDA artifact generation, and Hugo deployment inputs and outputs.

Settle the section 4 and section 6 statements that #1527 and its
comments found contradicted by the tree or by the document itself:
D1.1's unverifiable negation claim, D1.6's absent-report reason and
threshold override, D4.1's pointer to D7.3, D4.5's multi-image Docker
exception, D5.2's heading, D6.2's scope, D6.3's suffix wording, D7.3's
output reason, D9.1 and the action-pinning rule on local paths, and the
eda, docker, library and hugo rows.

Name self-repository references beside local paths in the pinning
exception, scope the hugo row's environment-binding sentence to a secret
the environment defines, and state D4.5's multi-image Docker case as a
limit its heading names.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The workflow documentation and CI contract references update artifact naming, output comparisons, validation and cleanup guarantees, reference-pinning rules, and Docker, library, EDA, and Hugo walkthroughs.

Changes

Workflow CI contract

Layer / File(s) Summary
Reusable workflow and value contracts
.agents/skills/workflow-ci-contract/references/architecture.md, .agents/skills/workflow-ci-contract/references/d-guarantees.md, WORKFLOW.md
Artifact names are described as carrying the branch. Called workflows read branch configuration from inputs.branch. Job and step output comparisons use the string 'true'.
Validation, publishing, and cleanup guarantees
.agents/skills/workflow-ci-contract/references/d-guarantees.md, WORKFLOW.md
The guarantees clarify path-filter wording and require Python validation to fail when no coverage report is written. They document possible Docker partial pushes and separate cleanup conditions for release assets and package artifacts.
External reference pinning
.agents/skills/workflow-ci-contract/references/d-guarantees.md, GOVERNANCE.md, WORKFLOW.md
Pinning guidance covers external reusable workflows as well as actions. It exempts local and same-repository references.
Workflow walkthrough examples
WORKFLOW.md
The Docker walkthrough adds non-default branch tags. The library example describes a push-triggered rerun. The EDA and Hugo walkthroughs add artifact-generation and deploy-hook details.

Custom Docker configurations may not publish the tags the walkthrough promises, leaving adopters with unavailable image references. Clarify the override exception before relying on this guidance.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in GOVERNANCE.md: The action-pinning rule now exempts local (./) and self-repository ($/) references; other references remain subject to the existing SHA-pinning requirements.
  • observed — Modified behavior in WORKFLOW.md: The artifact naming requirement changes from branch-suffixed names to names that carry the branch.
  • observed — Modified behavior in WORKFLOW.md: D1.1 removes the explicit statement that negated-path filters can mark docs-only changes as target changes and violate the guarantee; the guarantee’s paths-listing requirement remains.
  • observed — Modified behavior in WORKFLOW.md: D1.6 now states that Python validation fails its test step if no coverage report is written, rather than saying only that downstream steps cannot detect an absent report. It also makes informational: true the default for Codecov statuses while allowing a repo requiring a threshold to turn it off.

Explanation

The summary supports changes for D9.1 pinning exceptions and expanded Hugo deployment text. It does not establish that the library row corrects the S9 trigger and stub citation. It also does not show the exact Hugo environment names, deploy-hook path, or required artifact outputs, nor that D4.1 no longer calls plan the first job. The ignored generated reference files cannot supply evidence for these points.

What changed in this PR

This PR updates the CI/CD contract documentation to remove statements that were contradicted by the repository’s current workflows, and regenerates the derived skill/reference copies so the documented contract stays consistent across distributions.

Changes:

  • Refines multiple D-guarantee clauses in WORKFLOW.md for accuracy (pinning exceptions, output-string comparisons, Docker publish edge cases, deploy-site contract details).
  • Aligns GOVERNANCE.md workflow style guidance with the updated pinning exceptions.
  • Regenerates the workflow CI contract reference includes in the distributed skill trees.

Comment thread WORKFLOW.md Outdated
A caller-supplied matrix or docker-prepare hook replaces the default tag list, so the latest, develop, and version tags the row names hold only under the default.

…ision to Main (#1803)

Promotes `develop` to `main`.

## Carried

- #1799: corrects the `WORKFLOW.md` section 4 and section 6 statements
the tree contradicts, together with the matching `GOVERNANCE.md` pinning
exception, as reported in #1527 and its comments.
- #1802: settles the divergence ledger's last `investigate` row by
accepting the `pyproject.toml` gap as a path collision, per #1553.

ptr727/aiopurpleair and ptr727/Financial-Modeling are waiting on both.
