[FEATURE] Dropping multiple video files silently uses only the first one #1781

Open

Description

@magic-peach

Feature description
FileUpload.tsx always reads files?.[0] (lines 254, 275, 356) with no check for files.length > 1.

Problem this solves
If a user selects/drops multiple video files at once (easy to do accidentally), the rest are silently discarded with zero indication anything was ignored — they might assume all files were queued.

Proposed solution
When files.length > 1, show a brief inline notice ("Only the first file was used — Reframe edits one video at a time") so the behavior isn't silently confusing.

Alternatives considered
Reject multi-file drops outright with an error instead of picking the first — probably worse UX than just proceeding with a notice.

    Architecture notes

    Reframe is a static Next.js app with output: "export". Key points:

    • All video processing uses FFmpeg.wasm (client-side, no server)
    • headers() in next.config.ts won't work — use vercel.json instead
    • not-found.tsx requires public/404.html + vercel.json routes config

    Happy contributing! ⭐ Star the repo if you find it useful!
