Fix reflection inference for concrete params arrays - #7627
Generic tests with a concrete params int[] parameter rejected expanded integer columns during reflection-mode type inference, before invocation could pack the array. Treat concrete params arrays as collecting trailing values while retaining normal-form inference for generic arrays. Concrete arrays require no inference mapping or dictionary copy.
Regression tests cover value-tuple and reference-tuple first columns, explicit array columns, multiple expanded values, injected cancellation tokens, and rejected generic constraints. The engine wrapper exercises reflection and Native AOT in CI. Runtime fixtures narrowly suppress the separate #7622 analyzer diagnostic; explicit-array source rows create fresh arrays on every enumeration. Also move a misplaced XML summary onto the helper it documents.
Before the fix, 4 expanded reflection cases failed with Int32/Int32[] mismatches; both explicit-array cases passed.
Regression fixture: 6 passed in source-generated mode and 6 passed with --reflection.
Existing inferred generic params fixture: 9 passed in each mode.
Constraint fixture: 1 pass and 1 expected struct-constraint rejection in each mode.
No generator output or public API changes. Engine integration execution remains for CI per AGENTS.md.
Engine integration test project builds successfully; its tests were not run locally.
Native AOT publish succeeded; all 6 regression cases passed in the published application, with 1 pass and 1 expected struct-constraint rejection in the published constraint fixture.
The resolver broadens trailing-array detection to accept any params array or a plain single-dimensional generic array. Normal-form inference for a lone array argument remains conditional on generic parameters and a matching argument count.
Binding and constraint regression coverage tests/TUnit.TestProject/Bugs/_7624/*, tests/TUnit.Engine.Tests/Issue7624Tests.cs
Tests cover expanded and explicit concrete params arrays with value and reference tuples, multiple expanded values, and a CancellationToken before the params array. A separate test checks that constraint validation rejects a string row.
thomhurst/TUnit#7608: It changes tuple-row retention and generic inference for tuple parameters followed by optional or params parameters.
thomhurst/TUnit#7341: It changes whole-tuple binding when a tuple parameter is followed by optional or params parameters.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "Fix reflection inference for concrete params arrays" matches the main change. The raw summary shows the trailing-array inference logic in TestGenericTypeResolver.cs was changed to handle params arrays, and the new tests cover concrete params int[] binding in reflection mode for issue #7624. The title is specific and does not describe unrelated work.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #7624 is active and has coding requirements. TestGenericTypeResolver now treats any trailing params array as a collecting parameter, including concrete int[], while retaining normal-form inference only for generic arrays. This permits T = int inference from the tuple column and allows the invoker to pack expanded values. ConcreteParamsArrayTests covers value-tuple and reference-tuple rows, expanded values, explicit int[] rows, multiple values, and a cancellation token before the params array. Issue7624Tests runs six passing cases in each configured mode. ConcreteParamsConstraintTests and its engine assertions preserve one valid result and one expected struct-constraint failure. The tests narrowly suppress TUnit0001 as required by #7624 while #7622 remains separate.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changed resolver code directly implements #7624. The added fixtures and engine wrapper provide the required regression coverage and mode validation. The XML documentation adjustment supports the changed helper. The TUnit0001 suppression is explicitly permitted by #7624. No unrelated product behavior, generator output, or public API change is demonstrated.

Explanation
Docstring coverage is 66.67% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 3 functions across 4 files.

A rabbit packs the numbers neat, Through tuple rows and params feet. The resolver finds the type in view, Explicit arrays still pass through. Constraints check each value’s place, Then hops away at testing pace.
The fix is small and correct. I found no blocking issues.
Inference change:HasTrailingArray now treats any params array, including a concrete params int[], as a collecting trailing parameter. The inference loop skips it, so loose int values no longer produce an Int32 vs Int32[] mismatch. The normal-form check is gated on paramType.ContainsGenericParameters, so concrete arrays do no mapping and no dictionary copy. Behaviour for generic params T[] and plain T[] is unchanged.
Precedence in HasTrailingArray:IsParams || ContainsGenericParameters && GetArrayRank() == 1 evaluates as intended (&& binds tighter than ||). Adding parentheses would make that obvious to a reader. This is optional.
Tests: they cover value-tuple and reference-tuple columns, explicit array columns, multiple expanded values, a CancellationToken before the params array, and constraint rejection. The new engine test asserts the exact constraint-failure message. The TUnit0001 and TUnit0046 suppressions are narrow and commented.
Cleanup: the misplaced duplicate XML summary is moved onto the helper it documents.
I did not run the tests. The TUnit.Engine.Tests wrapper is left to CI, as AGENTS.md requires. Please confirm CI is green in both source-generated and reflection modes.
Both required reviewers approved head 326c8b3 with no blocking findings. Claude’s optional parentheses suggestion is dispositioned as no change: the existing operator precedence is correct and the review confirms the intended behavior. There are no review threads. Promoting to ready so CI can validate the engine and AOT paths; auto-merge must wait for the promotion-triggered Claude review.
What the change does:HasGenericParamsArray becomes HasTrailingArray. A trailing concrete params array, such as params int[], is now skipped during inference, as generic params T[] already was. This fixes the Int32/Int32[] mismatch for expanded values in reflection mode. The normal-form inference is gated on paramType.ContainsGenericParameters, so a concrete array never reaches TryInferTypeMapping or copies the dictionary. That is the right place for the guard.
Checked in the code:
The predicate still requires IsParams for concrete arrays. A plain concrete int[] without params keeps its old behaviour, so the change doesn't widen beyond what the reflection invoker packs.
The CancellationToken skipping and parameterIndex handling are unchanged and agree with lastDataParameterIndex.
The misplaced XML summary now sits on the helper it documents, and the stale comment is updated.
Tests: The regression fixtures cover the cases that matter: value-tuple and reference-tuple first columns, explicit array columns, multiple expanded values, a cancellation token before params, and a constraint rejection. The TUnit0001 and TUnit0046 suppressions are narrow and explained. The engine wrapper runs the fixtures in both source-generated and reflection modes.
Optional nit:lastType.ContainsGenericParameters && lastType.GetArrayRank() == 1 inside an || relies on operator precedence. Parentheses would make the intent clearer.

Run 41970792715 completed successfully on head 326c8b3; the earlier wait is cleared. Claude and Codex both report no blocking findings on this head, and all CI has passed, including engine and AOT jobs. The optional parentheses nit remains dispositioned as no change because the expression has the intended precedence. CodeRabbit’s aggregate docstring coverage warning is dispositioned as nonblocking: the changed private helper HasTrailingArray has an XML summary describing its behavior, CannotHoldNull retains its own summary, and the inference branch has explanatory comments. The warning identifies no missing behavioral documentation or concrete defect. There are no inline review threads. Proceeding through the repository merge gate.
