1799-1802: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAdd a regression test for folded GQA decode attention.
The PR changes the decode layout and SDPA call. Add a decode-only test in
tests/unittest/_torch/models/test_minimax_m3.pywithnum_heads=8,num_key_value_heads=2, at least two batch entries, and varied sequence lengths. Compare_sdpa_dense_attention_corewith an independent reference that repeats K/V and performs the previous per-head computation. This must detect incorrect head/group ordering and mask broadcasting.Do not use a non-contiguous-Q input for this regression. The SDPA path already calls
q.view(...)before the changed code, and the non-MSA split path returnsq.contiguous(). A non-contiguous-Q case would test an input layout that this path does not accept, rather than the folded-GQA change.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Approving — the comments below are optional touch-ups, not blockers.
Folding the GQA group into the query-length axis is exact here: every decode query row sits at seq_lens - 1, so the [batch, 1, 1, k] padding mask broadcasts correctly over the group rows. The output head order also matches the old h * group + g slicing. This path gets one SDPA launch per layer back and still avoids allocating an expanded K/V.
Before merge:
- Stale comment: the block at
[tensorrt_llm/_torch/models/modeling_minimaxm3.py:1720](https://github.com/NVIDIA/TensorRT-LLM/pull/20029/files#diff-19ba09f0bf7344d7ad3134db198bdd0d3d6379cfaf6d6fef0132b304788c2293R1720)-1726still says K/V are expanded viarepeat_interleaveto match Q's head count, with ~7x transient KV memory. After this change that only happens for prefill. Please reword it so readers don't assume decode pays that cost. - Forward-port: the loop came in with #18872, which is also on
main. Please link a matchingmainPR so the regression doesn't come back in the next release cut.

…DPA decode
The decode branch of MiniMaxM3Attention._sdpa_dense_attention_core folds
each GQA group into SDPA's query-length axis. No unit test exercised it.
Add a parity test that runs the real method against a per-request
repeat_interleave reference.
It covers num_kv_heads in {1, 2, 4} and group in {1, 4}, with a batch of
mixed seq_lens. Each request owns scattered pages, and the unused pool
slots are filled with large garbage values, so the seq_lens mask must
hide them.
Validated on B300. The test passes on this PR's code and on the previous
per-KV-head loop. It fails on four broken variants: a transpose/reshape
output copy, a group-major Q view, a batch-row-0 mask, and no mask.

2482-2483: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winCover the CUDA-graph gather width.
This test sets
is_cuda_graph=False. It also setsmax_seq_lentomax_len, so it cannot check the decode path that gathers a wider padded context under CUDA graphs. Add a case withis_cuda_graph=Trueandmax_seq_lengreater thanmax_len, within the page-table capacity. Compare that output with the same reference. This checks that the wider gather and mask preserve the result.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Summary
MiniMaxM3Attention, the dense SDPA decode path ran a Python loop over KV heads. Each pass did arepeat_interleaveof that head's K/V slice, launched a separatescaled_dot_product_attention, and wrote the result back with a slice assignment. The loop was added to avoid allocating an O(batch * max_k * num_heads) expanded K/V tensor, which overflows the CUDA-graph memory pool under attention DP. The cost was many small kernel launches and K/V copies in every layer at every decode step. On B300 that overhead caused the roughly 5% drop in total token throughput for minimax_m3_mxfp8 compared with 1.3.0rc27.groupquery heads that share each KV head asgroupquery rows of a single SDPA head. Q is viewed as[batch, KV, group, d], and K/V are passed unexpanded as[batch, KV, k, d], so the whole step is one SDPA call. The result is exact for decode: every query row sits at positionseq_lens - 1, so one key-padding mask is correct for all of them. Viewing the output as[batch, KV, group, d]keeps the original head ordering. This removes both the per-head launches and the expanded K/V temporary, so throughput improves without bringing back the CUDA-graph pool overflow.Test plan
