Description

Updates the post-merge perf-sanity cases: adds Kimi-K3, GB300 MiniMax-M3 and DeepSeek-V4 DSpark AgentX cases, and drops the gpt-oss and time_breakdown cases.

The Kimi-K3 AgentX configs also need a new DWDP ctx launch path in the harness (submit.py, slurm_launch_draft.sh, dwdp_ctx_rank.sh, test_perf_sanity.py), which this PR adds. The Kimi-K3 e2e and ctx_only cases are not added yet: Kimi K3 MoE doesn't support DWDP on main.

Walkthrough

The pull request adds DWDP-aware context sizing and MPI worker startup. It extends the PerfSanity harness and AgentX client for DWDP and prefill-only runs. It also adds B300 and GB300 benchmark recipes and updates post-merge test configurations.

Changes

Performance benchmark execution and coverage

Layer / File(s) Summary
DWDP sizing and launch command generation
jenkins/scripts/perf/benchmark_utils.py, jenkins/scripts/perf/submit.py, jenkins/scripts/perf/local/submit.py, tests/unittest/scripts/test_perf_submit.py
New helpers validate DWDP context layouts and calculate node counts. Submit code includes DWDP fields in hardware results and generates per-rank context-worker commands. Unit tests cover layout calculations, invalid configurations, and command generation.
MPI context-worker startup
jenkins/scripts/perf/disaggregated/dwdp_ctx_rank.sh, jenkins/scripts/perf/disaggregated/slurm_launch_draft.sh, jenkins/scripts/perf/submit.py, jenkins/scripts/perf/local/submit.py, tests/integration/defs/perf/test_perf_sanity.py
DWDP runs allocate a shared context-node span and start context workers in one MPI step. The rank launcher saves and unsets inherited MPI and Slurm variables. The harness coordinates per-rank addresses and shared worker configuration, then launches disaggregated MPI workers.
AgentX prefill-only and ctx-only handling
tests/integration/defs/perf/agentx_client.py, tests/integration/defs/perf/test_perf_sanity.py, tests/unittest/scripts/test_perf_agentx_client.py
AgentX supports an output-token cap, prefill-only metric reporting, and limited tolerance for empty-content errors. The harness applies AgentX ctx-only settings, preserves the dataset, and supports multiple frontends. Tests cover these behaviors.
Benchmark recipes and DWDP precheck behavior
tests/scripts/perf-sanity/aggregated/*minimax*.yaml, tests/scripts/perf-sanity/disaggregated/*kimi*.yaml, tests/scripts/perf-sanity/cache_transceiver_precheck/precheck_config.py, tests/unittest/others/test_cache_transceiver_precheck_config.py, tests/integration/defs/perf/_model_paths.py
New B300 MiniMax and GB300 Kimi K3 recipes define benchmark workloads and worker settings. The Kimi K3 model-path entry is added. DWDP context configurations disable the cache-transceiver precheck, with a unit test for that behavior.
PerfSanity lanes and Jenkins stages
jenkins/L0_Test.groovy, jenkins/L0_MergeRequest.groovy, tests/integration/test_lists/test-db/*, tests/integration/defs/.test_durations
Test lists and Jenkins stages add B300 and GB300 lanes and adjust existing shard counts and test entries. Duration records are added for MiniMax, DeepSeek, and Kimi cases. Existing GB200 GPT-OSS cases and one GB200 configuration are removed or reduced.

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 6379e

The new Kimi K3 DWDP16 post-merge perf-sanity stages are expected to fail at startup, because Kimi K3 checkpoint streaming does not yet support DWDP. Two open problems in the DWDP worker launch path could also break these runs or make them unreliable. These issues affect test infrastructure, not production users, but they should be resolved or the stages gated before merge.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

#20260 requires a CuTe DSL MLA decode fix that slices the page table and sequence_lengths to the current generation batch, adds batch-dimension checks in CuteDSLNVMlaDecodeBlackwellRunner.forward, and adds the specified regression tests. The whole-PR diff has no changes to tensorrt_llm/_torch/attention/backends/fmha/cute_dsl_mla.py or tests/unittest/_torch/attention/test_cute_dsl_mla_helix.py. The PR description states that #20260 is a separate fix and is not fixed here. The reported Kimi K3 validation used that fix in an installed wheel, not this PR.

Resolution

Implement the #20260 page-table and sequence_lengths slicing and the runner batch-dimension checks in this PR. Add the bf16/fp8 regression coverage for batch sizes 1 and 3. Run the required GB300 validation with the implementation included in the reviewed head.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

Relative to directly linked issue #20260, the PR adds unrelated perf-sanity functionality and data. The changes include DWDP launch support, AgentX client behavior, Kimi K3 recipe and test-db entries, MiniMax-M3 recipes, DSv4 single-phase lanes, and gpt-oss test removal. These changes do not modify the CuTe DSL MLA decoder or test its batch-row handling. The empty diffs for the decoder and its regression-test file confirm that the PR does not contain the linked issue implementation.

Resolution

Split the #20260 decoder fix and its regression tests into a focused change, or remove the unrelated perf-sanity, model, and test-matrix changes from the PR assessed against #20260.

Do not accept a DWDP config from an earlier attempt.

The nonzero ranks wait only for the config path to exist. The launch cleanup described for _hostnames_dir does not remove dwdp_ctx_mpi_worker.<server_idx>.yaml from test_output_dir. On a retry, a nonzero rank can read the earlier config and publish CTX_<rank>.txt before rank 0 replaces it. Remove or version the shared config before ranks start, and wait for the config for the current attempt.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Convert reserved addresses to URL strings.

wait_for_reported_addr returns a (host, port) pair, as its other callers show. This line places those pairs in context_servers.urls. The MPI worker config therefore contains YAML sequences instead of the address strings supplied to the existing disaggregated server config. Format each pair as a host:port URL authority before writing the config, including brackets for an IPv6 host.

Update the `wait_for_reported_addr` result handling before appending to

Test coverage summary

  • Modified file: tests/unittest/scripts/test_perf_submit.py.
  • Added tests: test_ctx_only_folds_dwdp_ctx_servers_into_one_server and test_ctx_only_without_dwdp_sizes_from_ctx_parallelism.
  • Coverage: ctx_only DWDP folding and non-DWDP sizing from context parallelism.
  • tests/integration/test_lists/test-db/l0_cpu.yml lists unittest/scripts, so these tests are collected through the listed parent directory.
  • Gap: The tests do not cover the CI ctx_config.get("world_size") override. In ctx_only, that value takes precedence over the DWDP fold when it is truthy.
  • Verdict: sufficient for the added sizing cases; the CI-list follow-up is not needed. The world_size precedence remains a targeted coverage gap if that behavior is intended to be protected.

Do not enable the Kimi K3 DWDP16 context stages before startup works.

The PR objectives report that Kimi K3 packed-checkpoint streaming does not support DWDP. These post-merge disaggregated stages, and the context-only stage at Line 6906, start that DWDP16 context side. They will fail during startup instead of providing perf-sanity results. Gate these stages until checkpoint streaming supports DWDP, or use a supported checkpoint-loading path.

The recipes set kv_cache_config.mamba_ssm_cache_dtype: bfloat16, but the
fused KDA MTP verify kernel used with DSpark rejects a bf16 recurrent
state pool:

  ValueError: kda_mtp_decode requires an fp32 recurrent_state pool; got
  torch.bfloat16. ... set kv_cache_config.mamba_ssm_cache_dtype=float32
  (the Kimi K3 default) to run speculative decoding.

Seen on GB300 when the gen worker of the con88 case started. Set float32
(the Kimi K3 default) on both ctx and gen, so the transferred state keeps
one byte layout.

…K3 AgentX configs

Each of the 4 Kimi-K3 AgentX configs now also runs as a ctx_only and a
gen_only_no_context post-merge lane, so a regression in one phase can be
seen on a fraction of the e2e lane's nodes:

- ctx_only: the DWDP16 ctx side as one 16-GPU attention-DP server on 4
  nodes, in a new GB300-16_GPUs-4_Nodes-PyTorch-PerfSanity-Node4-GPU16
  stage (l0_gb300_multi_nodes_perf_sanity_node4_gpu16, 4 splits).
- gen_only_no_context: one gen worker. The three helix CP16 configs go
  in GEN1-NODE4-GPU16 (2 -> 5 splits) and the helix CP8 config in
  GEN1-NODE2-GPU8 (5 -> 6 splits).

.test_durations entries (7200 s) keep one test per split group, which
the multi-node launcher requires.

Drop every gpt-oss-120b perf-sanity test from the post-merge test-db
lists. The configs under tests/scripts/perf-sanity/ stay.

- l0_b200_multi_gpus_perf_sanity: 1 aggregated case.
- l0_gb200_multi_gpus_perf_sanity: 5 aggregated (incl. the dynamo
  config) and 2 ctx_only cases. 11 tests remain, so the
  GB200-4_GPUs-PyTorch-PerfSanity-Post-Merge stage goes 6 -> 5 splits.
- l0_gb200_multi_nodes_perf_sanity_ctx1_node1_gpu1_gen1_node1_gpu4: 3
  gen_only and 1 e2e case. 2 qwen3 cases remain, so its stage goes
  6 -> 2 splits (multi-node stages need one test per split).
- l0_gb200_multi_nodes_perf_sanity_ctx1_node1_gpu1_gen1_node1_gpu2 held
  only a gpt-oss case: the list, its
  GB200-8_GPUs-2_Nodes-PyTorch-Disagg-PerfSanity-CTX1-NODE1-GPU1-GEN1-NODE1-GPU2
  stage and its L0_MergeRequest file-list entry are removed.

…AgentX configs

Each of the two DeepSeek-V4-Pro DSpark AgentX configs now also runs as a
ctx_only and a gen_only_no_context post-merge lane, as the Kimi-K3
AgentX configs do:

- ctx_only: both configs share the same ctx side, one 8-GPU DEP8
  attention-DP server, so both go in
  l0_gb300_multi_nodes_perf_sanity_node2_gpu8
  (GB300-8_GPUs-2_Nodes-PyTorch-PerfSanity-Node2-GPU8, 2 -> 4 splits).
- gen_only_no_context: con1156's DEP8 gen worker goes in GEN1-NODE2-GPU8
  (6 -> 7 splits) and con1456's DEP16 one in GEN1-NODE4-GPU16
  (5 -> 6 splits).

Durations come from the con1156 runs on oci-aga GB300 with this branch's
harness: ctx_only 1h37m and gen_only_no_context 1h30m wall. Both
configs use the same values, which keeps one test per split group.

… on B300 and GB300

Port the B300 and GB300 "agg" variants of the InferenceX MiniMax-M3
NVFP4 AgentX recipes (EAGLE3-GQA drafter, DRAM KV offload) to
perf-sanity. Three points each, one aggregated trtllm-serve per split:

  tp4 con1  mtp7   low-latency end
  tp2 con20 mtp3   mid
  tp2 con45 mtp3   max-concurrency end of the TP2 sweep

The B200 and GB200 recipes are left out. They use the same base args as
B300 and GB300 respectively; only the batch-size / draft-length points,
host_cache_size and TOTAL_CPU_DRAM_GB differ.

- B300: new l0_dgx_b300_perf_sanity list (4 GPUs, x86_64) and a
  DGX_B300-4_GPUs-PyTorch-PerfSanity-Post-Merge stage with 3 splits.
- GB300: added to l0_gb300_multi_gpus_perf_sanity; its post-merge stage
  goes 5 -> 7 splits to absorb the three 1 h AgentX lanes.
- TLLM_SPEC_DECODE_FORCE_NUM_ACCEPTED_TOKENS is the InferenceX golden
  acceptance length for minimax-m3 EAGLE3-GQA (thinking on, the AgentX
  default) minus 1, as its synthetic-acceptance connector sets it:
  mtp3 1.78, mtp7 2.52.
- Not carried over: the recipes' --chat_template / --tool_parser server
  flags, which have no LLM-API key, and their store=false request patch,
  which main's ChatCompletionRequest no longer needs. GB300's dynamo
  frontend is replaced by trtllm-serve.

Each server_config validates against the 1.4.0rc0 wheel's TorchLlmArgs.

…l Kimi K3 MoE supports DWDP

All 4 Kimi-K3 AgentX configs use a DWDP16 ctx side, and Kimi K3 MoE does
not support DWDP yet: KimiK3MoERuntime._routed_moe_model_config raises
NotImplementedError("Kimi K3 packed-checkpoint streaming does not
support DWDP.") at ctx model init. So the 4 e2e and 4 ctx_only lanes
fail on every post-merge run, holding 42 and 16 GB300 nodes while they
do. A waives.txt SKIP would not release those nodes: it is applied by
pytest, after Slurm has already allocated the stage.

Remove those lanes until the model supports DWDP:
- the 4 e2e entries, their 3 CTX16 stages and lists;
- the 4 ctx_only entries, the Node4-GPU16 stage and its list;
- their .test_durations entries.

The configs, the DWDP ctx launch path and its unit tests stay, so the
lanes can come back unchanged. The 4 gen_only_no_context lanes stay: they
do not start a ctx server, and with the CuTe DSL MLA decode fix (NVIDIA#20260)
the Kimi-K3 gen worker serves on GB300.

Remove the five time_breakdown test ids from the perf-sanity test-db:
the four DeepSeek-V4-Pro fp4 8k1k disagg e2e lanes (con8, con180, con666,
con4301) and the con666 ctx_only lane. Each disagg list held the breakdown
case in its own split, so the four GB300 disagg stages go back from 3 to
2 splits (as before NVIDIA#18990).

The time_breakdown modifier, its allowlists and the metric pipeline are
kept, so the lanes remain runnable through jenkins/scripts/perf/local.

Remove the three DGX_B300 MiniMax-M3 NVFP4 AgentX aggregated cases along
with their test-db list, config yaml, .test_durations entries, the three
DGX_B300-4_GPUs-PyTorch-PerfSanity-Post-Merge stages and the
L0_MergeRequest file-list entry. The GB300 MiniMax-M3 cases stay.

main's agentx_client now always passes --extra-inputs skip_special_tokens:false,
so the aiperf command can carry more than one --extra-inputs flag. Check the
max_completion_tokens override across every --extra-inputs value instead of
only the first, and check its absence by value rather than by flag.
