1564-1566: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAdd focused coverage for both address-selection branches.
get_node_address()returns the local IP for non-loopback addresses and the hostname for loopback addresses. Add tests that mockget_local_ip()with a routable IP and127.0.0.1, then assert both return values.Test coverage summary: the changed tests cover bind-error reporting. No test covers
get_node_address(). Existing perf-sanity entries do not assert either branch. Coverage verdict: insufficient.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

627-627: 🩺 Stability & Availability | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winTest the listener entrypoint with an unresolvable host.
launch_serverand the VisualGen listener resolve the host withsocket.getaddrinfobefore thetryblock that calls_bind_failure. A lookup failure therefore bypasses the new resolution diagnostic. Add an entrypoint test intests/unittest/llmapi/test_serve_report_addr.pythat forces a failing lookup throughlaunch_serverand asserts the resulting diagnostic. Add the equivalent VisualGen test if its entrypoint can be exercised without unrelated model initialization.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

…vers and report unresolvable bind hosts The multi-node disagg perf-sanity harness passed each node's hostname to trtllm-serve, so every bind, and every connection to a published address, resolved it through DNS. A transient resolver failure while the disaggregated server pre-bound its socket killed the router and failed the stage. Each role now binds and publishes its node's IP from get_local_ip(), and keeps the hostname only when no routable address is found. trtllm-serve reported that failure as a port conflict: socket.gaierror is an OSError, so the bind handlers ran the port-holder diagnosis on a port-0 bind. The four listener binds now share a helper that reports a name-resolution failure as such and keeps the existing message for every other error. …rver listeners too launch_server and launch_visual_gen_server resolved the host to pick the socket family before the bind, so a failed lookup escaped as a bare socket.gaierror. The lookup now goes through _bind_failure as well. Signed-off-by: JunyiXu-nv <219237550+JunyiXu-nv@users.noreply.github.com>

Dev Engineer Review
The current working-tree diff is empty, so the supplied evidence does not establish any implementation changes. The intended DNS-resolution handling and node-address selection cannot be verified from this diff.
QA Engineer Review
No test changes are present in the current working-tree diff. Existing CI and manual-QA lists include
test_perf_sanity.py::test_e2e, including multi-node perf-sanity cases, but this does not show that tests ran or passed. Coverage verdict: needs follow-up because the test changes described in the objectives are not present in the diff.Per-File QA Perspective
Description
Fixes https://nvbugs/6682814.
In the multi-node disagg perf-sanity lanes every role passed its node's hostname to
trtllm-serve, so each bind, and each connection to a publishedhost:port, resolved the name through DNS. InLLM/main/L0_PostMerge #2930the resolver failed transiently while the disaggregated server pre-bound its socket (socket.gaierror: [Errno -2] Name or service not known, for the node's own hostname). The router exited and the stage failed.get_local_ip()(tensorrt_llm/_torch/disaggregation/native/utils.py). The workers'--host, the hostname files, the disagg server config and its--report_addrfile all carry IPs, so no bind or connection in the run depends on DNS. Ifget_local_ip()falls back to loopback, the harness keeps the hostname, because other nodes cannot dial loopback. Each role logsUsing <ip> as the server address of <hostname>so node names stay traceable.socket.gaierrorsubclassesOSError, so the bind handlers diagnosed it as port contention ("Port holder(s): no listening socket found ... transient race") although the requested port was 0. The four listener binds (launch_server, VisualGen, disaggregated server, coordinator) now share_bind_failure(), which reportscannot resolve host '<host>'for a name-resolution failure and keeps the existing message for every other error.Out of scope: the benchmark rank still has no liveness check on the disaggregated server while it waits for the server's address, so a router that dies before binding still costs the full timeout. That is a follow-up (#17787).
