fix(security): reject implicit worker mutations and align the image runtime - #454
Two fixes around the single-worker requirement and the shipped image.
Worker-count gate could be bypassed through implicit dunder dispatch.
The Gunicorn config scanner models explicit calls and attribute access, but
not the hooks Python invokes implicitly on an object that was merely
constructed: operators (__add__/__radd__), f-strings and format()
(__format__), iteration and membership (__iter__/__contains__),
truth tests (__bool__), comparisons, and the numeric conversions. A config
that constructed such a class at import time kept workers = 1 looking
static while the hook rebound it, so Gunicorn started multiple workers with
the in-memory rate limiter and session store. Constructing a class whose
implicit hook mutates workers is now recorded as an import-time side
effect (fail closed), with the class alias/MRO resolution the other hooks
already use.
Builder and runtime stages used different Python minors. The builder
installed wheels with --only-binary :all: --require-hashes for Python 3.14
and copied them into a 3.15 runtime, so the hash-pinned set did not describe
the interpreter that actually ran and cp3XX extensions could fail to
import. Both stages now use 3.14, which is also the interpreter the test
suite runs on.
New regression tests: tests/test_gunicorn_implicit_dunder_workers.py
(binary/reflected operators, f-string, for-loop, truth test, membership,
comparison, plus two safe counter-cases) and tests/test_dockerfile_python_version.py.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Configuration analysis now detects worker changes triggered by implicit arithmetic, comparison, formatting, iteration, membership, truth-testing, and conversion operations. This improves classification when those operations invoke mutating methods on constructed classes.
The runtime image now uses Python 3.14, matching the builder’s Python version.
…untime
The gunicorn config scanner now treats construction of a class whose implicit dunder rebinds workers (__add__, __format__, __iter__, __bool__, __contains__, __eq__ and siblings) as an import-time side effect. Those triggers bypassed the single-worker gate, so a config could run multiple workers against the in-memory limiter and session store. The Dockerfile builds its hash-pinned wheels on the same Python minor the runtime stage uses.

Walkthrough
The Docker runtime image now uses Python 3.14, with a test that checks Python minor-version consistency across Dockerfile stages. The config scanner now records construction side effects for classes with mutating implicit instance hooks, with regression tests for dynamic dispatch and static cases.

Summary
Runtime image version and test Dockerfile, tests/test_dockerfile_python_version.py
The runtime base image changes from Python 3.15 to 3.14. A test checks that at least two matching Dockerfile stages exist and use the same Python minor version.
The scanner adds a set of implicit instance hooks and records the class constructor and mutating hook when a listed method mutates workers. Tests cover seven implicit-dispatch cases and two static controls.
OpenRTMP/librtmp2-server-panel#90 — The Dockerfile runtime tag changes to match the Python 3.14 builder tag, although this does not implement the issue’s described Python 3.15 update.
OpenRTMP/librtmp2-server-panel#452 — The PR adds scanner handling and tests for implicit dunder dispatch that mutates workers, as described by the issue.
The change aims to catch import-time worker mutations triggered by implicit special methods, but augmented assignment such as += and subclass construction can still bypass the scanner. A config could then load a different worker count than the scanner reports. Fix these two gaps and add regression cases before merging. The Docker runtime alignment looks fine.

operator hooks, including __iadd__, so augmented assignments are recognized by
the implicit-hook scan. Add a regression case where __iadd__ changes workers and
verify the scan reports the resulting worker configuration.
- Around line 12907-12908: Update the construction classification that records
class names in constructors and methods in methods so subclasses account for
inherited implicit hooks such as __add__. Resolve the effective hook across the
class hierarchy, allowing a safe subclass override to take precedence, so
constructing a subclass does not lose the risk from an inherited hook.

A subclass that inherits a mutating implicit dunder now resolves it with the same MRO and binding checks used for __new__/__init__, so 'class Child(Bump): pass; Child() + 1' is classified as dynamic instead of static.
h += 1 calls __iadd__ (falling back to __add__), so a config could rebind workers through an in-place hook while the scanner still saw the literal count. Adds the in-place operator family and a regression case.
