Basic explanation

What this does: Brings v5.1-dev up to date with v5.0-dev at fe588e9c22: the 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 releases, including the backport batch, and #5755. The last forward merge was #5608. It merged 093268c09b, which is the base of this merge.

Value: v5.1-dev gets the 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 fixes that were made on v5.0-dev first:

Risks: Low.

  • Nine conflicted files (ten textual conflicts) and six semantic conflicts, listed below. The nine fixes of the backport batch fix: backport SDK, wallet and dashmate fixes from v5.1-dev to 5.0 #5731 came from v5.1-dev, so they add nothing here: every file they touch ends up as v5.1-dev has it, apart from version fields.
  • No PV14 behaviour changes beyond what v5.0-dev already ships (see "Protocol versions"). The only consensus code this merge edits beyond v5.0-dev is verify_chain_lock_locally v1, which only PV15 selects. PV15 is unreleased.
  • rust-dashcore and GroveDB stay on v5.1-dev's pins. None of the incoming PRs changes a pin.

Please merge with a merge commit (not squash or rebase) so the v5.0-dev history stays shared with v5.1-dev.

Issue being fixed or feature implemented

v5.1-dev was eleven PRs behind v5.0-dev: the 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 releases.

What was done?

Conflicts resolved by hand

In the refresh (934268afef, 6e4f98dc22):

Semantic conflicts resolved (in the merge commit)

#5630 on v5.1-only code. #5630 makes every quorum window a NonZeroU32 and every active-signers count a NonZeroU16. It applied cleanly to the files it changed on both branches (config.rs, quorum_set.rs, quorums.rs, quorum_config_for_saving_v0.rs, the strategy tests), but v5.1-dev has code #5630's v5.0-dev version never saw. #5630's "forward merge" notes list it, and its first v5.1-dev version (09ba154f34…61041b0828) already had these edits. Their v5.1-dev files have not changed since, so the merge result for them equals that version:

  • verify_chain_lock_locally v1 gets v0's edit. The remainder is u32 % NonZeroU32, and the last block of the window is (height - height % window).wrapping_add(window.get() - 1). For every window from 1 up this equals the wrapping u32 arithmetic of release builds (see "Protocol versions").
  • test/helpers/chain_lock_quorums.rs and v1's tests build their ChainLockConfig with NonZeroU32/NonZeroU16.
  • for_saving_v0.rs's and storage_tests.rs's tests compare .get().
  • storage_tests.rs gets fix(drive-abci): make zero quorum windows and active-signer counts unrepresentable #5630's restore test for v5.1-dev. It patches the chain lock quorum config inside the frozen PLATFORM_STATE_V1 vector, and checks that a saved 0 in either field fails to restore at protocol versions 13 and latest, and that 1 restores.
  • quorum_config_for_saving_v0.rs's tests and fetch_platform_state's new tests use the shared dpp::platform_serialization::PLATFORM_BINCODE_CONFIG instead of a test-local copy. fix(drive-abci): make zero quorum windows and active-signer counts unrepresentable #5630 defined the copy on v5.0-dev only because the shared constant (refactor: share one bincode config constant #5586) does not exist there. The two are the same configuration.
  • fix(drive-abci): make zero quorum windows and active-signer counts unrepresentable #5630's overflow test, should_leave_chain_lock_to_core_without_overflowing_when_quorum_window_ends_past_largest_core_height, now sits in the dispatcher's tests (verify_chain_lock_locally/mod.rs). It uses v5.1-dev's dpp::bls chain lock helpers and runs through the dispatcher at protocol versions 13, 14 (v0) and latest (v1). It keeps the v5.0-dev version's control: in a window ending below u32::MAX, the same quorums' chain lock verifies locally (Some(true)). So the None it expects for a window ending past u32::MAX comes from the wrapped window end, not from a bad signature.
  • Both restore tests are kept: fetch_platform_state's (fix(drive-abci): make zero quorum windows and active-signer counts unrepresentable #5630 on v5.0-dev, the historical testnet and devnet fixtures at 13 and 14) and storage_tests' (the frozen PLATFORM_STATE_V1 vector at 13 and latest).

rs-drive-abci/tests/masternode_vote_proof.rs (new in #5628). VotePoll::unique_id takes the platform version on v5.1-dev (a yes/no poll's id depends on it). The test passes the version it already runs at; it only uses contested polls, whose id does not depend on it.

rs-platform-wallet/Cargo.toml. #5731's own commit adds tempfile = "3.27.0" to [dev-dependencies], which v5.1-dev already declares. Both lines together are a duplicate TOML key, so the merge drops the incoming one.

Versions of v5.1-only crates and packages (see "Pins, versions and lockfiles").

dapi() callers from #5636 (in 6e4f98dc22). #5755 removed protocol_gate_tests' dapi() helper, and two tests #5636 added call it (fetch_fee_pots_together and should_let_waiting_calls_ask_when_the_asking_call_is_dropped). They now use sdk.mock_dapi().

#5755 on v5.1-dev

  • v5.1-dev's Vote also has a YesNoVote variant (PV15), so its recovery after "already exists" matches on the submitted vote. A resource vote fetches the proved vote. A yes/no vote waits for the transition, because no query proves yes/no votes yet. fix(sdk): refuse a vote recovery whose proved vote differs from the submitted one #5755's comparison goes into the resource vote arm, and the yes/no arm is unchanged. The comparison is Vote's PartialEq, as on v5.0-dev. It is the same equality Drive::verify_masternode_vote checks on v5.1-dev.
  • The error names the proved vote's choice. On v5.0-dev, fix(sdk): refuse a vote recovery whose proved vote differs from the submitted one #5755 reads it with let Vote::ResourceVote(proved) = &vote;, which is irrefutable only there. On v5.1-dev the merge also renders a yes/no vote's choice. That arm is never reached: VoteQuery proves resource votes only, and v5.1-dev's decoder builds Vote::ResourceVote from the ResourceVoteWithCount.
  • fix(sdk): refuse a vote recovery whose proved vote differs from the submitted one #5755's three tests take v5.1-dev's versioned vote_poll_unique_id(platform_version) and build the expected broadcast with checked_broadcast_request, which is what the SDK sends on v5.1-dev.
  • Red → green on v5.1-dev: with v5.1-dev's unfixed resource vote arm and the merged tests, should_fail_a_vote_change_answered_already_exists_while_the_previous_choice_is_proved fails, and the other two pass. With the merged arm all three pass.

#5629 on v5.1-dev

update_service.rs merged cleanly: against v5.0-dev the merged file differs by exactly v5.1-dev's own changes since the base. #5629's copy of Core's port and duplicate rules stays as it is for now. Switching to rust-dashcore's ExtNetInfo::validate_ports_and_duplicates is a separate change, after the rust-dashcore bump that brings it.

Protocol versions (LATEST = 15)

  • verify_chain_lock_locally v0 (protocol versions 1–14): exactly v5.0-dev's, which ships in 5.0.2. fix(drive-abci): make zero quorum windows and active-signer counts unrepresentable #5630's "In-place changes to shipped generations" covers it: output-identical to release builds for every window from 1 up, and builds that check arithmetic no longer panic where release builds wrap.
  • verify_chain_lock_locally v1 (protocol version 15 only, DRIVE_ABCI_METHOD_VERSIONS_V11): the same edit, in place. PV15 is unreleased and not active on any network.
  • Quorums::choose_rotating_quorum (not versioned): v5.0-dev's NonZeroU16::ilog2(), the same index as before for every count from 1 up.
  • Saved platform state: the same bytes; a saved 0 now fails to restore, as on v5.0-dev. v5.1-dev's frozen storage vectors still restore and re-encode unchanged (storage_tests, 7 passed).
  • Everything else is client-side (SDK, proof verifier, wallet, FFI, dashmate, JS SDK dependencies), so it does not change consensus at any protocol version. That includes fix(sdk): refuse a vote recovery whose proved vote differs from the submitted one #5755 and the refresh's conflict resolutions (SDK, rs-dapi-client tests, book). fix(sdk): refuse a non-unique identity V1 request before protocol 14 is proven #5615's declaration is at 14 (PROTOCOL_VERSION_OF_5_0), and rs-dapi-client --test request_inventory passes against v5.1-dev's proto.

Merge integrity

v5.0-dev changed 112 paths since the base (093268c09b to fe588e9c22). At the head of this branch:

  • 68 are as v5.0-dev has them;
  • 30 are byte-for-byte what a clean three-way merge (git merge-file) of the base, v5.1-dev (074da40e24) and v5.0-dev produces;
  • 14 are the hand resolutions above: the nine conflicted files, plus Cargo.lock, fetch_platform_state/mod.rs, quorum_config_for_saving_v0.rs, masternode_vote_proof.rs and rs-platform-wallet/Cargo.toml.

Outside those 112 paths, the branch changes exactly seven v5.1-dev files: verify_chain_lock_locally/mod.rs and v1/mod.rs, chain_lock_quorums.rs, for_saving_v0.rs, storage_tests.rs, and the package.json of decision-proposals-contract and token-market-contract.

How Has This Been Tested?

Run locally on macOS (arm64).

On the head 6e4f98dc22 (this refresh):

Everything below ran on the first merge commit 99b28e38c7. On 9010e0d608, cargo fmt --check, cargo check --workspace --all-targets --locked, CI's clippy invocation, yarn install --immutable, yarn constraints and all the Rust suites listed below ran again, with the same results.

  • cargo check --workspace --all-targets --locked, and the same with --all-features: pass.
  • cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets --all-features --locked -- --no-deps -D warnings (CI's invocation): passes.
  • cargo fmt --all -- --check: passes.
  • cargo check -p wasm-sdk -p wasm-dpp2 -p wasm-drive-verify --target wasm32-unknown-unknown --locked: passes.
  • yarn install --immutable and yarn constraints: both pass, and the tree stays clean.
  • Targeted suites, with CI's RUST_MIN_STACK=4194304 CARGO_PROFILE_DEV_DEBUG=0 CARGO_PROFILE_DEV_CODEGEN_UNITS=256, all --all-features --locked, all with 0 failed:
    • drive-abci --lib -- core_chain_lock quorum config:: fetch_platform_state platform_state: 177 passed (1 ignored). This includes the config loader's zero-value test, both restore tests, the saved-format tests, the rotated-quorum signer test, the moved overflow test, and v5.1-dev's v1 tests (should_stop_rejecting_chain_lock_signed_by_newly_mined_quorum_from_protocol_version_15, should_only_turn_wrong_local_rejections_into_core_checks).
    • drive-abci --test masternode_vote_proof (fix(sdk): read the proved vote of a masternode vote that already exists #5628): 2 passed.
    • drive-abci --test strategy_tests -- core_height_increase: 10 passed.
    • drive-proof-verifier --lib: 363 passed.
    • rs-dapi-client --test request_inventory: 5 passed (1 ignored).
    • dash-sdk --lib: 572 passed.
    • platform-wallet --lib: 1,737 passed.
    • platform-wallet-ffi --lib: 501 passed (1 ignored).
  • Mutation check of the moved overflow test: with v1's wrapping_add replaced by + window.get() - 1, it fails with attempt to add with overflow in v1 at the latest protocol version.
  • JS: @dashevo/dash-spv 121 passing (2 pending); dashmate unit tests 1,014 passing, including fix(dashmate): set up local networks on Dash Core v24 #5730's activateKnownCoreSporks, createRpcClient and registerMasternode specs.
  • Not run locally: the Swift and Kotlin SDK builds (fix(platform-wallet)!: restore a coin as final as its stored transaction #5719 changes their persistence handlers; the Swift handler merged cleanly next to v5.1-dev's changes and reads fields PersistentTxo/PersistentTransaction have on v5.1-dev), and the full cargo test --workspace. On 99b28e38c7 CI passed both the Rust workspace tests and the Swift SDK build with its tests.

Known limitations and notes

Breaking Changes

The merge adds none of its own. #5719's UtxoRestoreEntryFFI gains parent_context and parent_block_height, and #5630 refuses a config or saved state with a quorum window or active-signers count of 0, as described in those PRs.

…is proven

The getIdentityByNonUniquePublicKeyHash transport entry declared no
needs_protocol_version. NonUniquePublicKeyHashQuery picks V1 only once
the network basis is 14, but the blanket `Query<T> for T` lets a caller
pass a raw IdentityRequest carrying V1 to Identity::fetch, skipping that
selector. On a network proven only at 13 the request went out, every
node below 14 refused it with UNKNOWN, and the SDK retried and banned
honest nodes.

V1 now declares protocol 14 (V0 and an empty version declare nothing),
so the fetch path refuses it with ProtocolVersionNotActive, or asks the
network first, without contacting a node. The selector is unchanged: it
picks V1 only at a basis the gate already lets through. The request
inventory verdict for the V1 arm is now Gate(14).

Answers thepastaclaw's blocking finding on #5608.

Tests would have caught this in CI: ✖ before fix, ✔ after, with
grpc.rs swapped back to origin/v5.0-dev and the new tests kept:
- should_refuse_a_v1_non_unique_key_lookup_until_protocol_14_is_verified:
  ✖ "expected a refusal ..., got Err(DapiClientError(Transport(Grpc(
Status { code: Unknown, message: "unsupported query version", ... }))))"
(the V1 request reached the node)
- should_send_a_v1_non_unique_key_lookup_once_protocol_14_is_verified:
  ✖ probes 0 != 1 (a fresh SDK sent the caller's V1 without asking)
- request_inventory should_need_the_declared_protocol_version_for_each_addition
  and should_need_protocol_14_only_for_composite_chained_token_pool_and_non_unique_v1_requests:
  ✖ left: None, right: Some(14)
All ✔ with the fix.

When a masternode vote broadcast is answered with "already exists", the
SDK fetches the stored vote with `VoteQuery`: the voter's votes from the
vote poll on, at most one. The proof verifier returns those votes keyed
by vote poll id, but `Vote`'s decoder compared that key with the
request's identity id, so every existing vote failed with
"expected vote for identity <voter>, got vote for identity <vote poll>".

The decoder now takes the vote poll the request starts at (inclusively)
and reads the vote keyed by it. When the voter has not voted on that
poll, the proof carries its votes on the following polls instead, and
the decoder reports no vote rather than one of those. A request that
does not start at its vote poll has no vote to pick, so `Vote` refuses it
in `check_request`, before it is sent, instead of failing the answer of
a node that answered correctly.

The node's proof was right; the fix is client-side decoding only and
changes no protocol version's behaviour.

Rebuilt on v5.0-dev: here `ResourceVotesByIdentity` holds a plain
`ResourceVote` per vote poll (v5.1 holds `ResourceVoteWithCount`), so
the proved vote is wrapped with `Vote::ResourceVote` directly.

Test would have caught this in CI: masternode_vote_proof (drive-abci
integration suite: real query handler, proof signed by a test quorum,
decoded as `Vote`) ✖ before the fix — both tests fail with the
ResponseDecodeError above — ✔ after, on the v5.0-dev base.

…l id

Covers the remaining refusal path of the vote request check: a start of
5 bytes instead of a 32-byte vote poll id is refused before the request
is sent, like a missing or excluded start.

Test-only coverage of an error path this branch added; there is no
earlier behaviour for it to have failed on.

…the config

verify_chain_lock_locally v0 took the last committed core height modulo
the chain lock quorum window, which comes from the config and is copied
into the platform state at init chain. A window of 0 divided by zero and
panicked while validating a proposal that carries a chain lock.

- Loading the config now refuses CHAIN_LOCK_QUORUM_WINDOW=0 with a clear
error, so the node does not start.
- In verify_chain_lock_locally v0, the remainder is checked: a window of 0
still held by a platform state returns an execution error instead of
panicking. The end of the window is computed with wrapping_add, so
builds that check arithmetic no longer overflow when the window ends
  past u32::MAX.

No consensus change at any protocol version. v0 serves protocol versions
1-14. For every non-zero window it returns exactly what release builds
always computed: the release profile keeps Cargo's default
overflow-checks = false, so their arithmetic wraps. A window of 0 gave no
verdict before (panic) and gives none now (an error out of
run_block_proposal).

Adapted for v5.0-dev: verify_chain_lock_locally has only v0 on this line,
so the v1 edit is dropped. The chain lock test helpers of v5.1-dev do not
exist here either, so the tests live in v0's test module and build their
one-quorum state and signed chain lock there.

Tests would have caught this in CI: ✖ before the fix, ✔ after, run
against v5.0-dev's config loader and v0 arithmetic:
- should_reject_zero_chain_lock_quorum_window_when_loading_config:
  window 0 loaded.
- should_return_error_instead_of_panicking_when_chain_lock_quorum_window_is_zero:
"attempt to calculate the remainder with a divisor of zero".
- should_leave_chain_lock_to_core_without_overflowing_when_quorum_window_ends_past_largest_core_height:
"attempt to add with overflow". Its control chain lock, in a window
ending below u32::MAX, verifies locally, so the None it expects comes
  from the wrapped window end.

Closes #5504

Refusing CHAIN_LOCK_QUORUM_WINDOW=0 when loading the config did not cover
every path to verify_chain_lock_locally. That function reads the window
from the platform state's chain lock quorum set, which a restarted node
restores from its saved state, not from the config, and any code building
a QuorumConfig could still put 0 there.

- Every quorum window is now a NonZeroU32: the validator set, chain lock
  and instant lock configs, QuorumLikeConfig::quorum_window,
  QuorumConfig.window and the saved QuorumConfigForSavingV0.window.
- Loading the config refuses 0 for VALIDATOR_SET_QUORUM_WINDOW,
CHAIN_LOCK_QUORUM_WINDOW and INSTANT_LOCK_QUORUM_WINDOW with an error
that names the variable. Strings and numbers are read as before.
- grovedb-bincode 2.1.0 encodes a NonZeroU32 as the u32 it holds and
decodes a 0 into DecodeError::NonZeroTypeIsZero, so saved states keep
their bytes, and a saved window of 0 fails to restore instead of
  reaching chain lock verification.
- verify_chain_lock_locally v0 takes the remainder with
`u32 % NonZeroU32`, which cannot divide by zero, so the checked_rem
error branch is gone. The end of the window keeps wrapping_add.

No consensus change. For every window, v0 (protocol versions 1-14)
computes what release builds always computed: the same remainder, and an
end of window that wraps like their unchecked arithmetic. A window of 0
used to panic there and give no verdict; it can no longer be loaded.

Adapted for v5.0-dev:
- verify_chain_lock_locally has no v1 and the chain lock test helpers do
not exist on this line, so their edits are dropped; v0's own test
helper now builds its quorum with a 24 block window.
- The v5.1-dev storage vectors are not on this line. The restore test
lives in fetch_platform_state's tests and patches the two historical
states v5.0-dev keeps as fixtures: PLATFORM_STATE_V3_TESTNET (first
saved format, Llmq50_60 window 24) and PLATFORM_STATE_V8_DEVNET (second
  format, LlmqDevnet window 24).
- The saved-format tests use bincode::config::standard().with_big_endian()
.with_no_limit(), the configuration PlatformState saves with here, since
the shared PLATFORM_BINCODE_CONFIG constant is not on this line.
- for_saving_v0 and storage_tests have no tests to update on this line.

Tests:
- should_reject_zero_quorum_windows_when_loading_config now covers all
  three windows.
- should_save_and_restore_window_with_the_bytes_of_a_u32 compares the
saved config with a u32 window's encoding across every varint width.
  should_fail_to_restore_saved_window_of_zero decodes a saved 0.
- should_refuse_to_restore_saved_state_holding_a_chain_lock_quorum_window_of_0
stores both fixtures with the chain lock window patched to 0 and
fetches them at protocol version 13 (fetch v0) and 14 (fetch v1). The
unpatched bytes still restore with window 24.
- should_save_historical_platform_states_with_unchanged_bytes decodes
both fixtures and re-encodes them to identical bytes.
- should_return_error_instead_of_panicking_when_chain_lock_quorum_window_is_zero
is removed: a window of 0 can no longer be built.

Test would have caught this in CI: ✖ before, ✔ after. Run against the
previous commit's code:
- VALIDATOR_SET_QUORUM_WINDOW=0 and INSTANT_LOCK_QUORUM_WINDOW=0 loaded.
- A saved QuorumConfigForSavingV0 with window 0 decoded.
- Both fixtures with a chain lock window of 0 restored at protocol
versions 13 and 14, with that window.

Choosing a rotated (DIP24) quorum takes the base-2 logarithm of the
quorum's active signers as `31 - active_signers.leading_zeros()`. With 0
active signers that subtraction underflows: debug builds panic, and
release builds compute a meaningless signer index. Nothing refused 0.
Loading the config accepted VALIDATOR_SET_, CHAIN_LOCK_ and
INSTANT_LOCK_QUORUM_ACTIVE_SIGNERS=0, and a saved state holding 0
restored.

- The active signers are now a NonZeroU16 wherever they are held: the
  three quorum configs, QuorumLikeConfig::quorum_active_signers,
  QuorumConfig.active_signers and the saved QuorumConfigForSavingV0.
- Loading the config refuses 0 for the three *_QUORUM_ACTIVE_SIGNERS
variables with "<VARIABLE> must be greater than 0". One generic
deserializer, deserialize_non_zero, now reads the windows and the
  active signers.
- grovedb-bincode 2.1.0 encodes a NonZeroU16 as the u16 it holds and
decodes a 0 into DecodeError::NonZeroTypeIsZero, so saved states keep
their bytes, and a saved count of 0 fails to restore.
- choose_rotating_quorum takes NonZeroU16::ilog2(), which cannot
  underflow.

No consensus change. choose_rotating_quorum is not versioned. Every
protocol version reaches it through verify_chain_lock_locally v0 and
verify_recent_signature_locally v0. For every count from 1 to u16::MAX,
ilog2() equals `31 - leading_zeros()` of the count as a u32, so it
returns the same quorum. A count of 0 can no longer be loaded from the
config or a saved state.

Adapted for v5.0-dev: verify_chain_lock_locally v1, the chain lock test
helpers, for_saving_v0's tests and storage_tests are not on this line, so
their edits are dropped. v0's own test helper and the restore test in
fetch_platform_state's tests take the edits instead; the restore test
patches the testnet and devnet fixtures that v5.0-dev keeps.

Tests:
- should_reject_zero_quorum_windows_and_active_signers_when_loading_config
covers the three windows and the three active signers counts.
- should_save_and_restore_active_signers_and_window_with_the_bytes_of_integers
compares the saved config with the plain integers' encoding across
  every varint width. should_fail_to_restore_saved_active_signers_or_window_of_zero
decodes a saved 0 of each.
- should_refuse_to_restore_saved_state_holding_zero_chain_lock_active_signers_or_window
stores both fixtures with the chain lock config patched and fetches
them at protocol versions 13 and 14. Counts and windows of 1 restore; a
  0 in either fails.
- choose_rotating_quorum_takes_signer_from_log2_of_active_signers_bits
pins the chosen signer for 1, 2, 32 and u16::MAX active signers. It
passes with ilog2() and with the previous `31 - leading_zeros()`
  formula alike.

Test would have caught this in CI: ✖ before, ✔ after. Run against the
previous commit's code:
- VALIDATOR_SET_, CHAIN_LOCK_ and INSTANT_LOCK_QUORUM_ACTIVE_SIGNERS=0
  all loaded.
- INSTANT_LOCK_QUORUM_ACTIVE_SIGNERS=0 with rotation loaded, and choosing
a quorum from it panicked with "attempt to subtract with overflow"
  (quorums.rs:106).
- A saved QuorumConfigForSavingV0 with 0 active signers decoded.
- Both fixtures with chain lock active signers 0 restored at protocol
versions 13 and 14, with that count.
After this commit, the zero counts are refused and the restore fails.

…tegers

Review follow-ups to the non-zero quorum window and active signers work.

- deserialize_non_zero parses the setting directly into NonZeroU32 or
NonZeroU16 through from_str_or_number, which refuses 0, and names the
variable on every parse error, not only on 0. The message is now
"<VARIABLE> must be a number greater than 0: <reason>", for example
"CHAIN_LOCK_QUORUM_WINDOW must be a number greater than 0: number would be
zero for non-zero type". The intermediate integer type parameter and the
turbofish at each call are gone.
- Comments in verify_chain_lock_locally v0, choose_rotating_quorum and
QuorumConfigForSavingV0 now describe what the code computes, not how it
used to compute it. v0 still names why its arithmetic is inert for the
  protocol versions that select it.
- The rotating quorum signer test starts with "should".

No behaviour change besides the config error text, which
should_reject_zero_quorum_windows_and_active_signers_when_loading_config
checks for all six settings.

…ing a version-3 ProUpServTx

Once V24 is active, reviving a legacy evonode converts its service
address and platform ports into a version-3 address map. Core v24 checks
every IP entry of that map (`ExtNetInfo::ValidateService`) and refuses
the transaction with TX_BAD_SPECIAL `bad-protx-netinfo-port` for port 0
and every port `IsBadPort` lists (1-1023 and a fixed list of well-known
ports), except 443 for Platform HTTPS. Pre-v3 entries were never held to
that rule, so the wallet could build and broadcast a transaction that
never confirms and keeps its inputs reserved until the TTL expires.

The conversion now checks the Core P2P, Platform P2P and Platform HTTPS
ports with Core's exact rule, copied from src/netbase.cpp and
src/evo/netinfo.cpp at Dash Core v24.0.0-rc.4, and returns an
InvalidParameter error naming the purpose and port before any payload is
built or input reserved.

Not consensus-relevant: this is client-side wallet transaction building
and changes no Platform protocol version's behaviour.

Test would have caught this in CI:
should_refuse_a_legacy_evonode_conversion_with_a_port_core_v24_refuses
✖ before the fix (a version-3 payload with CoreP2P port 1 is built) —
✔ after.

Closes #5503

…n-3 address map

Dash Core v24 also refuses a version-3 address map that lists one
address twice (`ExtNetInfo::HasAddrPortDuplicates`, TX_BAD_SPECIAL
`bad-protx-dup-netinfo-entry`). The conversion of a legacy evonode gives
the Core P2P, Platform P2P and Platform HTTPS entries the same IP, so a
caller's Platform P2P port equal to the Core P2P or Platform HTTPS port
built a transaction that never confirms, like the refused ports did. The
conversion now refuses such ports with an InvalidParameter error naming
both services and the port, before anything is built. A pre-v3 entry
cannot share its Core P2P and Platform HTTPS ports, since Core refused
that already.

Not consensus-relevant: client-side wallet transaction building.

Test would have caught this in CI:
should_refuse_a_legacy_evonode_conversion_that_repeats_an_address
✖ before the fix (a version-3 payload whose Platform P2P port repeats
Core P2P port 20001 is built) — ✔ after.

…ing protocol 14

The protocol-gate page grouped getIdentityByNonUniquePublicKeyHash V1
with additions that ban no node, on the grounds that only the SDK's
selector sends it. A hand-built V1 request did reach nodes before 14,
which refuse it with UNKNOWN and got banned for it; the transport entry
now declares protocol 14 for V1. The page lists it in the protocol 14
table and keeps only the INVALID_ARGUMENT additions in the 'bans no
node' paragraph.

Answers thepastaclaw's suggestion on #5615. Docs only, no behaviour
change, so no test.

No code change. The bot re-reviews only on push; the outside-diff
finding (use the derived voter identity in the already-exists vote
query) was declined with evidence in the PR conversation: Drive stores
masternode votes under the ProTxHash.

…orted shielded tests

The zero-amount spend tests from #5570 open temporary shielded stores with
tempfile. On v5.1-dev the dev-dependency arrived with an unrelated
rust-dashcore update, so v5.0-dev's all-features clippy failed to compile
the test target.

Brings v5.1-dev up to v5.0-dev: #5615, #5629, #5630, #5628, #5687, the
5.0.2 release (#5705), #5719, #5730, #5716 and the backport batch #5731.

Conflicts resolved by hand:
- CHANGELOG.md: [Unreleased] first, then the v5.0-dev release entries.
- verify_chain_lock_locally/v0: v5.0-dev's NonZeroU32 window arithmetic;
the test module stays v5.1-dev's. v5.0-dev's overflow test there signs
with blsful, which v5.1-dev no longer ships, so it moves to the
dispatcher's tests on the dpp::bls chain lock helpers, keeping its
control, and runs at protocol versions 13, 14 and latest (v0 and v1).
- rs-drive-proof-verifier proof.rs: #5628's Vote decoding, reading
  v5.1-dev's ResourceVoteWithCount.
- rs-platform-wallet-ffi asset_lock/sync.rs: v5.1-dev's doc wording
(#5460, which the backport does not carry).
- rs-platform-wallet-ffi persistence.rs: the test imports #5716 and #5719
add, without the secp256k1 import v5.1-dev dropped.
- rs-sdk protocol_gate_tests.rs: both sides' imports.

Semantic conflicts:
- #5630 on v5.1-only code: verify_chain_lock_locally v1 gets v0's
NonZeroU32 window arithmetic; the chain lock test helpers, v1's tests,
  for_saving_v0 and storage_tests build or compare NonZero values;
storage_tests gets the restore test of #5630's v5.1-dev version; the
saved-format tests use the shared PLATFORM_BINCODE_CONFIG.
- masternode_vote_proof.rs (#5628): VotePoll::unique_id takes the
  platform version on v5.1-dev.
- rs-platform-wallet Cargo.toml: drop the backported tempfile
  dev-dependency, which v5.1-dev already declares.
- Cargo.lock and decision-proposals-contract's package.json: the v5.1-only
crates and package take the merged version.

Walkthrough

This release updates package versions and changelog entries. It also changes wallet restoration, quorum configuration, protocol gating, vote verification, and Core compatibility behavior across the Rust, JavaScript, Kotlin, Swift, and JNI code.

Changes: Release metadata

Layer / File(s) Summary
Release entries and package versions
CHANGELOG.md, Cargo.toml, package.json, packages/*/package.json
The changelog adds entries for 5.0.2 and 5.0.3. Workspace and package versions advance to the 5.0.3 release.

Core v24 compatibility

Layer / File(s) Summary
Core-aware spork activation
packages/dashmate/src/core/activateKnownCoreSporks.js, packages/dashmate/src/listr/tasks/setup/local/configureCoreTaskFactory.js, packages/dashmate/test/fixtures/coreRpc/*, packages/dashmate/test/unit/core/activateKnownCoreSporks.spec.js
Local Core setup queries reported sporks and skips two removed sporks when Core does not report them. Fixtures and tests cover Core 23 and Core 24.
Typed RPC calls for masternode registration
packages/dashmate/src/core/createRpcClient.js, packages/dashmate/src/core/wallet/registerMasternode.js, packages/dashmate/test/unit/core/*
The RPC client adds callWithParams, which preserves JSON-RPC parameter types. Masternode registration uses it to send a numeric collateral index.
Address-map validation and integration coverage
packages/rs-platform-wallet/src/masternode/update_service.rs, packages/js-dapi-client/test/integration/SMLProvider/*
Legacy evonode conversion rejects disallowed and duplicate service ports. Core v24 integration tests check reconstructed masternode-list data and offered Platform HTTPS addresses.

Wallet restoration

Layer / File(s) Summary
Parent transaction data in restore entries
packages/kotlin-sdk/.../NativePersistenceBridge.kt, packages/kotlin-sdk/.../PlatformWalletPersistenceHandler.kt, packages/kotlin-sdk/.../TransactionDao.kt, packages/rs-platform-wallet-ffi/src/wallet_restore_types.rs, packages/rs-unified-sdk-jni/src/persistence.rs, packages/swift-sdk/Sources/SwiftDashSDK/PlatformWallet/PlatformWalletPersistenceHandler.swift, packages/kotlin-sdk/.../PlatformWalletPersistenceHandlerTest.kt, packages/swift-sdk/SwiftTests/SwiftDashSDKTests/CoreTxoReconcileTests.swift
Kotlin persistence loads parent transaction context and height, and Kotlin, Swift, and JNI restore paths pass these values through the FFI entry. Tests check the restored values.
Coin reconciliation and asset-lock details
packages/rs-platform-wallet/src/wallet/core/*, packages/rs-platform-wallet/src/wallet/asset_lock/*, packages/rs-platform-wallet-ffi/src/persistence.rs
The FFI restore path reconciles coin state with parent context and processed height. Restored asset-lock records include details for held outputs classified as received or change.

Nonzero quorum configuration and height boundaries

Layer / File(s) Summary
Nonzero quorum configuration values
packages/rs-drive-abci/src/config.rs
Quorum configuration fields and getters use nonzero integer types. Setting-specific deserializers reject zero; defaults and tests retain configured values.
Nonzero quorum values in saved state and test configurations
packages/rs-drive-abci/src/platform_types/signature_verification_quorum_set/v0/*, packages/rs-drive-abci/src/execution/storage/fetch_platform_state/mod.rs, packages/rs-drive-abci/src/test/helpers/chain_lock_quorums.rs, packages/rs-drive-abci/tests/strategy_tests/test_cases/*
Saved quorum fields use nonzero types while retaining integer serialization. Restoration and strategy tests use nonzero quorum values.
Quorum selection and chain-lock height boundaries
packages/rs-drive-abci/src/platform_types/signature_verification_quorum_set/v0/quorums.rs, packages/rs-drive-abci/src/execution/platform_events/core_chain_lock/verify_chain_lock_locally/*
Rotating quorum selection uses ilog2. Local chain-lock verification uses wrapping arithmetic for quorum-window endpoints.

Protocol 14 identity lookup gate

Layer / File(s) Summary
Declare and test the V1 protocol requirement
packages/rs-dapi-client/src/transport/grpc.rs, packages/rs-dapi-client/tests/request_inventory.rs, book/src/sdk/protocol-version-gate.md, packages/rs-sdk/src/sdk/*
The non-unique public-key-hash V1 request requires protocol 14. SDK tests cover request handling before and after protocol verification.

Masternode vote proof verification

Layer / File(s) Summary
Validate requests and select the requested poll vote
packages/rs-drive-proof-verifier/src/proof.rs, packages/rs-drive-abci/tests/masternode_vote_proof.rs
The verifier validates the starting poll ID and selects the vote for that poll. Tests cover request validation and signed query proofs.

Duplicate resource-vote broadcasts

Layer / File(s) Summary
Check the proved vote against the submitted vote
packages/rs-sdk/src/platform/transition/vote.rs
The SDK compares the proved vote with the submitted vote after an “already exists” response. A different choice returns InvalidProvedResponse; no proved vote retains the generic error.

Final validation — Phase 1 + Phase 2

Verified the findings against head 99b28e3. The vote-decoder repair exposes a blocking confirmation gap in duplicate-broadcast recovery; the dashmate RPC workaround also needs non-blocking upstream tracking. This was a static review without builds or tests; current CI has no failed checks, but Rust workspace tests, Kotlin build/tests, JS and Docker builds, and NPM release validation remain pending.

In `packages/rs-drive-proof-verifier/src/proof.rs`:
- [BLOCKING] packages/rs-drive-proof-verifier/src/proof.rs:2439-2444: Bind duplicate-broadcast recovery to the submitted vote
Returning existing votes here enables `rs-sdk/src/platform/transition/vote.rs:141–152` to report successful submission without proving the requested choice. If a masternode previously voted A and now submits B on the same poll, a malicious DAPI endpoint can discard B and return a non-retryable `AlreadyExists` status containing `already exists`. Recovery then fetches the recorded vote and immediately returns `Ok(A)`: a valid, current proof of A passes this decoder, and the normal confirmation path is never reached. `MasternodeVoter::put_vote` further discards the returned choice with `.map(|_| ())`, so mobile callers receive success although B was never recorded. The previous identity-versus-poll comparison rejected existing votes, so this repair newly enables that false-success path. Require the fetched vote to equal the submitted vote before returning success, or use the normal wait path, whose `Drive::verify_masternode_vote_v0` already checks equality. Add a regression covering an `AlreadyExists` response followed by a valid proof of a different choice.

In `packages/dashmate/src/core/createRpcClient.js`:
- [SUGGESTION] packages/dashmate/src/core/createRpcClient.js:40-51: Track the raw-parameter RPC capability in dashd-rpc
The coercion defect belongs to `dashpay/dashd-rpc`: both the cached 19.1.0 implementation and current upstream source declare `protx: 'str str str'` and provide no raw-parameter request API. This workaround fixes registration but introduces a second transport that bypasses the existing client's queue, `httpOptions`, and `rejectUnauthorized` handling, while other consumers retain the defect. Link an upstream issue or PR for a non-coercing request method that reuses the existing RPC transport and promise wrapper, and track replacing this bypass after the dependency update. Alternatively, link a coordinated replacement plan, such as the existing upstream deprecation discussion #77. Neither this PR nor #5730 currently links that owner-side follow-up; adding relevant tracking is sufficient for this non-blocking concern.

Brings in #5489, #5526 and #5720, which landed on v5.1-dev after this
branch started. #5526 adds token-market-contract at 5.0.1; it takes the
merged version, 5.0.3, in its package.json and in Cargo.lock, so the
lockfile stays current and yarn constraints pass once this merges.

Nitpick Assert the timeout duration passed to AbortSignal.timeout.

60-60: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Assert the timeout duration passed to AbortSignal.timeout.

The test sets rpcClient.setTimeout(1000) and checks only that signal is an AbortSignal. A change that passes a different duration, such as 1, still passes this test.

Spy on AbortSignal.timeout before the callWithParams call. Restore the spy after the test. Then assert that the first argument is 1000.

Suggested assertion
       expect(signal).to.be.an.instanceOf(AbortSignal);
+      expect(timeoutSpy.firstCall.args[0]).to.equal(1000);

Nitpick Add an instrumented test for the UTXO parent-field JNI lookups.

2228-2231: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚖️ Poor tradeoff

Add an instrumented test for the UTXO parent-field JNI lookups.

persistence.rs reads parentContext and parentBlockHeight by name, and only when a UTXO row loads. No androidTest loads a UTXO through that path. FfiSmokeTest checks only bridge method descriptors. A renamed field on either side would surface only when a device restores a wallet with UTXOs.

Consider an androidTest that restores a UTXO and asserts the loaded parent fields. JVM and Robolectric tests do not load libdash_sdk_jni, so the new unit test cannot cover this lookup.

Re-review — Final validation — Phase 1 + Phase 2

Verified both distinct reviewer findings against head 9010e0d: duplicate-broadcast recovery can report successful submission of a different vote, and the RPC workaround lacks tracked owner-side replacement work. Both prior findings remain applicable; carrying released code through this forward merge does not resolve them. Validation was static only; current-head build/test prerequisites remain pending in GitHub checks.

- [BLOCKING] packages/rs-drive-proof-verifier/src/proof.rs:2439-2444: Bind duplicate-broadcast recovery to the submitted vote
  (existing thread: https://github.com/dashpay/platform/pull/5746#discussion_r4456521887)
The corrected decoder authenticates the currently stored vote, but its submission consumer does not establish that this is the requested vote. In `packages/rs-sdk/src/platform/transition/vote.rs:141–152`, a broadcast error containing `already exists` causes `PutVote` to fetch the vote for this voter and poll and immediately return it without comparing it with `self`. A malicious DAPI endpoint can discard a change from choice A to B, return `AlreadyExists` with matching message text, and provide a genuine current proof of A. The SDK reports success although B never executed; `put_masternode_vote` forwards that success, and the Swift-facing FFI discards the returned vote with `.map(|_| ())`. This merge enables that path relative to its target base by replacing the decoder's erroneous identity-versus-poll comparison with successful poll lookup. Fix the recovery in `rs-sdk`, not in this general-purpose decoder: require the complete proved vote to equal the submitted vote, or use transition-specific confirmation. The normal `Drive::verify_masternode_vote_v0` confirmation path already checks equality. Add an SDK regression covering a duplicate response followed by an authenticated different choice. Landing the repair on `v5.0-dev` first is compatible with the release workflow, but the repair must also reach this head.

In `packages/dashmate/src/core/createRpcClient.js`:
- [SUGGESTION] packages/dashmate/src/core/createRpcClient.js:40-51: Track the raw-parameter RPC capability in dashd-rpc
  (existing thread: https://github.com/dashpay/platform/pull/5746#discussion_r4456521898)
Both cached `dashd-rpc` 19.1.0 and current upstream generate `protx` from the `str str str` callspec, coercing the numeric collateral index before entering their queued transport. They expose no public raw-parameter request method through the promise wrapper. This workaround preserves the required parameter type but creates a second transport that bypasses the client's queue, `httpOptions`, and `rejectUnauthorized` handling. The shared capability belongs in `dashpay/dashd-rpc`, or in a coordinated dependency replacement. Keeping this file byte-identical to `v5.0-dev` is compatible with addressing this suggestion: link a concrete follow-up tracking the owner-side capability and eventual removal of the bypass, or an adopted replacement plan referencing `dashpay/dashd-rpc#77`. Neither the supplied PR discussion nor #5730 identifies that follow-up; #5730 documents the shipped workaround itself. A tracking link is sufficient here—no transport rewrite is requested in this merge, and this is not a demonstrated security regression on the default local-setup path.

…ubmitted one (#5755)

Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Brings #5755: a vote recovery after an "already exists" broadcast answer
returns the proved vote only when it equals the submitted one, and fails
with a non-retryable InvalidProvedResponse otherwise.

Conflict in rs-sdk/src/platform/transition/vote.rs: v5.1-dev's Vote also
has a YesNoVote variant, so its recovery matches on the submitted vote,
and a yes/no vote waits for the transition instead of fetching (no query
proves yes/no votes yet). The comparison goes into the resource vote arm.
The proved vote's choice is rendered for either variant, because v5.1's
irrefutable `let Vote::ResourceVote(..)` no longer compiles; VoteQuery
proves resource votes only, so the yes/no rendering is never reached.

The new tests use v5.1-dev's versioned vote_poll_unique_id and its
checked_broadcast_request, the request the SDK broadcasts on v5.1-dev.

Red -> green on v5.1-dev: with v5.1-dev's unfixed resource vote arm,
should_fail_a_vote_change_answered_already_exists_while_the_previous_choice_is_proved
fails (the other two pass); with the merged arm all three pass.

Brings #5636, #5681, #5715, #5718, #5747 and #5748.

Conflicts:
- book/src/sdk/protocol-version-gate.md: #5636 rewrote the page and moved
the decision rules to protocol-versions.md. The merge takes #5636's
page and keeps #5615's getIdentityByNonUniquePublicKeyHash row, whose
declaration in rs-dapi-client is still there. #5615's paragraph about
other protocol 14 additions goes: #5636's getDocuments row now lists
the document features nodes at 13 refuse.
- rs-dapi-client/tests/request_inventory.rs: #5636 makes document
requests declare nothing and #5615 adds the V1 non-unique lookup's
Gate(14). The spelled-out test keeps both: it is now
  should_need_protocol_14_only_for_token_pool_and_non_unique_v1_requests.
- rs-sdk/src/sdk/protocol_gate_tests.rs: imports. Both sides' imports are
kept, without SdkInstance and MockDapiClient, which #5755 replaced with
  Sdk::mock_dapi.

Semantic: #5755 removed the file's dapi() helper, and two tests #5636
added call it (fetch_fee_pots_together and
should_let_waiting_calls_ask_when_the_asking_call_is_dropped). They now
use sdk.mock_dapi().

Do not state that the submitted vote is absent when the proof may lag.

When the follow-up fetch returns a different vote, the proof can come from a node that is one block behind. The default metadata height tolerance accepts that proof. This branch then returns InvalidProvedResponse with the text "the submitted vote is not recorded," even though the proof cannot establish absence. The caller can receive this failure for a vote that is already recorded. Keep the rejection, which is the conservative choice. Reword the message so it describes what the proof shows and does not claim absence.

Cover a partial request-ID bit pattern in the rotating-selection test.

The new test sets every bit of request_id. A selector that always returns the highest index passes it, so it does not check the bit extraction in choose_rotating_quorum. The zero-ID test only asserts that some quorum is returned, so it does not check the selected index either.

Add a case with a partial bit pattern and a higher-indexed quorum present. The request ID 0x14 in its last byte selects signer 5 with 32 active signers. A selector that picks the highest index would select 31 here.

Add an instrumented restore case for nonzero UTXO parent fields.

The new JVM test checks parentContext and parentBlockHeight on the restored Kotlin DTO. JVM tests do not load libdash_sdk_jni. The native reads of these fields in packages/rs-unified-sdk-jni/src/persistence.rs (lines 3010-3012) therefore run only in instrumented tests. No file under packages/kotlin-sdk/sdk/src/androidTest references UTXO, parentContext, or parentBlockHeight. A renamed field or changed descriptor would not fail the JVM test. It would fail only when the restore path runs with the native library loaded.

Consider adding an instrumented restore case with a UTXO that has nonzero parent values.

One non-blocking upstream-tracking suggestion remains for Dashmate's separate RPC transport. Validation was static only; current CI shows Kotlin tests, native schema checks, and package/container builds passing, while Rust workspace tests and several JS suites remain pending.

  • Triage: critical by gpt-6.1-sol (effort low) — The cross-cutting diff changes quorum selection and chain-lock verification in rs-drive-abci's verify_chain_lock_locally v0/v1, persisted quorum configuration, and wallet coin finality and resumed asset-lock change restoration, making it intricate and directly affecting consensus and spendable funds.
  • Phase 1 reviewers: muse-spark-1.3-contributor — general (completed, effort xhigh); agent phase1-reviewer, muse-spark-1.3-contributor — rust-quality (completed, effort xhigh); agent phase1-reviewer
  • Phase 1 model: muse-spark-1.3-contributor — not quota-gated; passed over gemini-3.8-flash-high (antigravity quota lookup failed), glm-5.3-flash (not used above high effort; tier asks max)
  • Single stage: Phase 1 and Phase 2 reviewed this head side by side, with no blocker gate between them (triage tier)

In `packages/dashmate/src/core/createRpcClient.js`:
- [SUGGESTION] packages/dashmate/src/core/createRpcClient.js:40-51: Track the raw-parameter RPC capability in dashd-rpc
  (existing thread: https://github.com/dashpay/platform/pull/5746#discussion_r4456521898)
The proposed v5.0-dev-first follow-up can preserve this forward merge unchanged. However, #5730's description explains why a dependency release is needed without linking work that will replace this bypass. I verified that pinned dashd-rpc 19.1.0 and current upstream still coerce `protx` through `str str str`; their queued RPC transport is private, so this separate `fetch` path bypasses its HTTP/TLS options and queue. Parameter serialization belongs in dashpay/dashd-rpc. Link a concrete owner-side issue or PR for a non-coercing request API using the existing transport, together with Platform adoption, or explicitly adopt the replacement track in dashpay/dashd-rpc#77. A tracking link is sufficient; no transport rewrite is requested in this merge.
