🟡 Minor · Migrate the previous DeepSeek seed roster at startup. · model-seeds.ts:544-555
src/providers/registry/model-seeds.ts:544-555
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winMigrate the previous DeepSeek seed roster at startup.
New configurations include Pro, but
enrichProviderFromRegistrypreserves every existingmodelsarray. The startup roster migration has no DeepSeek entry. Therefore, a saved configuration with the previous full DeepSeek seed roster remains without Pro, andconfiguredIdsomits Pro from the catalog.Add the exact old-to-current roster migration. Keep explicit empty arrays unchanged because they are operator-owned lists.

The Codex and CodeRabbit outside-diff saved-roster finding is addressed in 039c7f2. Exact previous native seeds are migrated at startup with destination/adapter guards; operator-owned lists remain unchanged. 153 focused tests passed, including offline startup and Pro reasoning metadata. Expanded validation remains separately documented. |

Baseline verification completed on unmodified upstream dev 26415a9. The same hook timeout reproduces there; with --timeout 60000 both upstream and PR pass 2/2 in about 15.4s. The representative Grok symlink fixture also reproduces EPERM on upstream. Added exact commands/results and the AGENTS.md scoped-validation exception to Verification; the 155 focused tests passed, and no full-suite pass is claimed. Broader platform coverage remains for maintainer CI. |

src/providers/stale-model-roster-migration.ts:154-162
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winRestore the DeepSeek Pro context entry on the current-roster path.
When the saved DeepSeek roster already equals the new roster, this branch repairs output limits but skips context windows. An existing
{}remains persisted, so the migration does not satisfy the repository contract to fill missing Pro context in existing maps.Keep this repair limited to DeepSeek. Request-time policy merging can still recover the registry value, but it does not repair the saved provider row.

@coderabbitai Regarding outside-diff comment cr-comment:v1:732b68add241c6cfcf473d16: I do not think the proposed current-roster refill is appropriate. This is an exact old-seed migration, not continuous normalization of saved metadata. The existing sameList(to) branch explicitly avoids refilling windows/efforts because an operator may have removed those keys after the migration. For example, after a successful old-to-new upgrade, clearing the Pro context override must not cause it to be persisted again on every startup. The documented promise is scoped to the previous native seed; current-roster rows are already outside that transition, and request-time policy supplies the registry default as noted in the review. The output-limit compatibility repair is an older distinct migration, not justification to expand DeepSeek context writes. Please reassess this finding against the existing preservation contract; no code change is proposed for it. |

@coderabbitai Your previous reassessment failed to produce a response. Please retry only the narrow outside-diff finding cr-comment:v1:732b68add241c6cfcf473d16: does filling context on sameList(to) violate the existing intent to preserve keys an operator removed after migration? The comment directly above that branch explains why windows/efforts are not refilled; the documented DeepSeek migration applies only to the exact previous seed. No full PR re-review is requested. |

Ready for human review at 89e34a0: synced current dev; 156 focused tests and type/structure/privacy checks pass, with the documented full-suite exception retained. All four inline findings are resolved. CodeRabbit's current-roster context refill suggestion is declined because it would undo operator removals; only the exact old default seed should migrate. Codex has not completed the previous requested review (only an eyes reaction), and CodeRabbit failed twice to complete reassessment, so we are proceeding without waiting further for bot approval; the dev-only merge is not claimed as bot-reviewed. |
# Conflicts: # src/providers/stale-model-roster-migration.ts
CI shards 1/4 and 2/4 failed because two assertions enumerate the DeepSeek registry's no-vision and reasoning-summary lists, which now include deepseek-v4-pro (text-only, summaries supported).

Summary
DeepSeek withdrew the planned V4 Pro retirement and continues serving the model (verified 2026-10-23). This restores the official model that OCX still filters out under the superseded retirement rule.

No paid inference calls or running-service changes were made.
Review status
All four inline findings are resolved. CodeRabbit's current-roster context refill suggestion is declined because it would restore settings deliberately removed by users; this migration applies only to the exact previous default roster.
At readiness, Codex had not completed the requested review of
3b7030786e, and CodeRabbit had twice failed to complete its reassessment. The subsequent dev-only merge had no completed bot review. These limitations were disclosed when requesting human review; bot approval is not claimed.Checklist

This PR stays in draft until every box below is ticked. Tick all four boxes once the requirements are met:
Required local validation passed; commands, results, and any full-suite exception are documented.
I pushed my PR to a recent dev commit (at most 10 behind; a maintainer may still ask for the exact tip before merge).
I resolved all correct Codex and CodeRabbit findings.
My PR is ready for review.
