ApprovabilityVerdict: Not approved Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — This PR adds cross-platform native theme mapping, patches Expo UI’s Android host, and changes existing mobile controls to use the new runtime path. It also changes native build inputs and requires a rebuild, making the production and release impact broader than a small isolated adjustment. Notes:

10-17: 🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low valueMemoize the derived color overrides.
When
NativeThemeHostrerenders without a theme change,createNativeThemeColors(colors)rebuilds the 50-role object and repeats the patchedHostpalette merge. This is a small JavaScript optimization. The code does not establish a materially costly native update or a user-visible performance regression.Suggested fix

🟡 Minor · Use @expo/ui in buildFromSource. · package.json:165-173

@expo/uiinbuildFromSource.
buildFromSourcematches package names. The app installs and patches@expo/ui, but this entry usesexpo-ui. Android can therefore use the unpatchedHost, which ignorescolorOverrideswhen building its Compose color scheme and JS palette.NativeThemeHoststill passes those overrides, so descendants that rely on the Host palette can lose the app theme.
SliderRowexplicitly supplies thumb and track colors, so this does not establish that the Slider falls back to defaults.Suggested fix

Design-system progress
API adoption and Pen rendering are tracked separately. This is cumulative through this PR, not a claim that all native renderers are finished.
Custom Appearance cards stay. Segmented controls stay native. Composer, thread-row and task-tray redesigns remain deferred.
Native Compose controls currently derive a separate palette from a seed color, so their surfaces and selected states can drift from the selected T3 theme.
Add a themed Host for each platform and map every Compose ColorScheme role from the resolved app palette. A small Expo UI patch accepts explicit color overrides and exposes the same palette to JS descendants. Material You keeps the system palette when explicitly selected. Adopt the Host in the existing native number field and Android slider.
This preserves the existing Appearance cards, theme values, and typography. Android requires a native rebuild to include the Expo UI patch. Pin Expo UI to the patched version so clean lockfile generation cannot resolve an unpatched release.
Validation: 12 theme/appearance contrast cases, existing theme and appearance tests, mobile typecheck, focused lint, native iOS/Android builds, and the release smoke test. Broader adoption in existing native controls follows in the next layer.
Scope and approval
Maintainer-authored work requested by Julius for the mobile design system. This foundation retains custom cards and introduces native theme mapping; the broader control adoption is #19217. Human review is required before merging.
Verification
The focused theme tests, mobile typecheck, targeted lint, iOS/Android native builds, and release smoke check passed. The dependent control-adoption layer includes the integrated Android theme matrix and before/after captures below; these show the foundation in use, not changes confined to this layer.
