Reviewer Reference Says CodeRabbit Skips Private Repositories, but It Reviews Them #3925
docs/pr-reviewer-reference.md says that neither CodeRabbit nor Qodo reviews a private repository, so a private repository has Copilot as its only reviewer. For CodeRabbit that is false on this account.
CodeRabbit comments on every recent pull request in the fleet's private repositories.
Where it does not review, its comment reports the plan's review rate limit ("Review limit reached", with the time until the next included review). Visibility is not the reason.
The claim has consequences. A registry override for a private repository that reads this line turns CodeRabbit off and loses a reviewer the maintainer finds useful. That nearly happened in #3924.
To fix it:
Correct the line to say what the current plan covers for private repositories.
Recheck the Qodo half of the sentence against a private pull request. Qodo posted on none of the recent private pull requests checked, which fits the claim but does not prove it.
Note the rate limit as the binding constraint, which is why the explicit, once-per-PR CodeRabbit policy suits private repositories.
