feat(consensus): hold EvoNode shares and multiple payouts behind a new evo_shares deployment - #7807
Conversation
CheckSpecialTx and ProcessSpecialTxsInBlock take the deployment state that special transaction validation depends on from their callers. Bundle it in SpecialTxRules, filled by GetSpecialTxRules(), so another deployment can be added without touching every caller again. No behaviour change. Final validation — Phase 1 + Phase 2
Static verification of the exact PR head found no actionable in-scope defects. The EvoNode restrictions, deployment-state propagation, separation of local signalling from consensus enforcement, consent digest change, and RPC argument mapping are consistent with the stated goal and accompanying regression coverage; the seven-commit stack is logically organized. In the supplied CI snapshot, Lint and ClangFormat passed, while source-build jobs remained running or queued; no builds or tests were run locally in this verification lane.

that's a duplication of existing functionality; signal already could be set as vbparams; should be removed along m_signal_deployment.
Basically, v24 no need to ship signing of ehf signal for evo_shares fork at all.
So, for testing, it could be switched by enabling / disabling ehf signal.
once v24 is out and we are ready - could just sign it unconditionally every time without extra flags.
vbsignals gone ; for tets vbparams is used; ehf enabled - testing v24 variant; ehf disabled - testing evo_shares variant.

Agreed, reworked as you suggested in 787ad82: m_signal_deployment, -vbsignal and the miner/getblocktemplate masking are gone. The v24 EHF signer simply skips evo_shares, so the deployment can't start until masternodes running a later release sign it, and that release can sign it unconditionally. Tests use -vbparams only: evo_shares as shipped (EHF enabled) for the v24 variant, and with EHF disabled to let miners activate it.

Moved: the EvoNode payout cases now live in feature_evo_shares_activation.py, checked as shipped and again after miners activate evo_shares. feature_masternode_payout_shares.py is back to its original content.

DEPLOYMENT_EVO_SHARES (bit 14) is a masternode-activated deployment with the same window, thresholds and start times as DEPLOYMENT_V24. It will lift the v24 restrictions on EvoNode shared collateral and multiple owner payouts once Platform supports them, which is expected in v24.1. Its consensus parameters must be identical in v24 and v24.1: nStartTime is consensus (it gates versionbits STARTED, and an MNHF signal mined before it is treated as expired), so it cannot be used to hold the deployment back. A unit test keeps evo_shares' parameters equal to v24's on every network; in particular, mainnet's start time must be filled in for both. Instead, v24 masternodes do not sign the evo_shares MNHF signal. The deployment cannot start until masternodes running a later release sign it, and v24 nodes follow it from then on like any other deployment. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Platform does not support EvoNodes with shared collateral or with more than one owner payout yet. Until DEPLOYMENT_EVO_SHARES is active: - an EvoNode ProRegTx with a share table is rejected with bad-protx-shares-evo. This rule moves from the stateless CProRegTx::IsTriviallyValid() into CheckProRegTx(), since it now depends on the deployment; - an EvoNode ProRegTx or ProUpRegTx with more than one owner payout is rejected with bad-protx-payouts-evo. The ProUpRegTx check covers the operator key rotation path too, as both paths store the payload's payouts. Neither rule needs a v24 gate: share tables and payout lists only exist in version 3 payloads, which need v24. The shared registration consent digest now also covers an EvoNode's platformNodeID, so share owners consent to the Platform identity too. This only changes the digest of EvoNode registrations, which were invalid until now; the digest of a regular masternode registration is unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Add "protx shared_register_prepare_evo", which takes the arguments of "protx shared_register_prepare" followed by platformNodeID, platformP2PAddrs and platformHTTPSAddrs. PrepareSharedRegistration() gains the masternode type and Platform node ID, applies the Platform addresses for an EvoNode and checks the network fields the way a regular registration does. An EvoNode registration with shared collateral is only valid once evo_shares is active, so preparing one fails until then instead of after every participant has signed. Dash Qt keeps preparing regular shared registrations only; EvoNode support there is left for v24.1. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
feature_evo_shares_activation.py checks that masternodes sign another masternode-activated deployment but not evo_shares, and that an EvoNode keeps a single owner payout until evo_shares is active: registration, registrar update, and an update that rotates the operator key are all rejected. It then lets miners activate evo_shares (-vbparams with EHF disabled) and checks that an EvoNode can update and register with several owner payouts. Registration and service updates for EvoNodes parsed the platformNodeID argument and required it in the same way as the shared registration does. Use the ParsePlatformNodeID() and ApplyPlatformNodeId() helpers there too. No behaviour change. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Re-review — Final validation — Phase 1 + Phase 2
Independent static review of the complete diff found no actionable in-scope defects: deployment gating is propagated through validation, mining, and replay; the signer exclusion, EvoNode consent digest, RPC support, and targeted tests match the stated rollout. The seven commits are coherent, and the matching unscheduled mainnet start times are intentional release setup, not a defect in this PR. No local builds or tests were run; the supplied CI snapshot shows successful Linux, macOS, ARM64, fuzz, SQLite, and no-wallet builds, with Windows, ASan, TSan, and lint checks still in progress.

…s behind a new evo_shares deployment 787ad82 refactor: share platformNodeID handling between provider transactions (pasta) 8edce1f doc: add release notes for the evo_shares deployment (pasta) d42644f test: cover evo_shares signing and EvoNode owner payouts (pasta) b3e6f5e feat(rpc): prepare shared EvoNode registrations (pasta) 9deae1f feat: restrict EvoNode shares and multiple payouts until evo_shares (pasta) 68a9144 feat: add the evo_shares deployment, not signed in v24 (pasta) e4428b7 refactor: pass special transaction deployment rules as a struct (pasta) Pull request description: ## Issue being fixed or feature implemented Platform does not support EvoNodes with shared collateral or with more than one owner payout yet, and asked that v24 not allow them. v24 introduces both (shared masternode collateral and the version 3 payout list), and today an EvoNode can already register or update with several owner payouts; only shared EvoNode registration is rejected, statelessly. This PR keeps both disabled for EvoNodes in v24 and adds a deployment, `evo_shares`, that lifts the restriction later (planned for v24.1, once Platform supports it) without a chain split between v24 and v24.1 nodes. > [!IMPORTANT] > Mainnet `v24` and `evo_shares` start times are both still `TODO`. They must be set to the same value before release. A new unit test (`evo_shares_follows_v24`) fails if `evo_shares`' parameters ever differ from `v24`'s on any network, so the mainnet start time cannot be filled in for only one of them. ### Why v24 does not sign it instead of using a later start time The new deployment's consensus parameters ship in v24 and must be identical in v24.1: `nStartTime` is consensus (it gates versionbits `STARTED`, and an MNHF signal mined before it is treated as expired), so v24.1 cannot move it, and a start time could not express "once enough of the network runs v24.1" anyway. Instead v24 masternodes simply do not sign the `evo_shares` MNHF signal. A masternode-activated deployment cannot start until its signal is mined, so `evo_shares` stays inactive until masternodes running v24.1 sign it; v24 nodes follow it from then on like any other deployment. ## What was done? 1. **refactor:** `SpecialTxRules` (filled by `GetSpecialTxRules()`) replaces the `bool is_v24_active` parameter of `CheckSpecialTx`, `ProcessSpecialTxsInBlock` and their callers, so another deployment can be passed without touching every caller again. No behaviour change. 2. **`DEPLOYMENT_EVO_SHARES`** (`evo_shares`, bit 14, masternode-activated) with `v24`'s window, thresholds and start times on every network. The MNHF signer skips it; v24.1 drops that skip. 3. **Rules**, until `evo_shares` is active: - an EvoNode ProRegTx with a share table is rejected with `bad-protx-shares-evo`. The rule moves from the stateless `CProRegTx::IsTriviallyValid()` into `CheckProRegTx()`; - an EvoNode ProRegTx or ProUpRegTx with more than one owner payout is rejected with the new `bad-protx-payouts-evo`. The ProUpRegTx check also covers operator key rotation; - neither rule needs a v24 gate: share tables and payout lists only exist in version 3 payloads, which need v24. - The shared registration consent digest also covers an EvoNode's `platformNodeID`. Only the digest of EvoNode registrations changes, and those were invalid until now; the digest of a regular shared registration is unchanged. 4. **RPC:** `protx shared_register_prepare_evo` takes the arguments of `protx shared_register_prepare` followed by `platformNodeID`, `platformP2PAddrs` and `platformHTTPSAddrs`. Preparing a shared EvoNode registration fails until `evo_shares` is active. Dash Qt still prepares regular shared registrations only; EvoNode support there is left for v24.1. 5. **Tests and release notes** (below), and a small follow-up refactor that moves `register_evo` / `update_service_evo` onto the `platformNodeID` helpers added for the new RPC. ## How Has This Been Tested? macOS arm64, debug build (`--enable-debug --enable-werror`). - `make check`-equivalent: the full `test_dash` suite passes. - Every commit builds and passes `evo_*`, `versionbits_tests` and `miner_tests` on its own. - New unit tests: - `evonode_registration_needs_evo_shares` / `evonode_payout_update_needs_evo_shares`: table-driven `CheckProRegTx` / `CheckProUpRegTx` cases (EvoNode vs regular masternode, one vs two payouts, shared, operator key rotation, `evo_shares` on/off); - `shared_reg_consent_hash`: `platformNodeID` is covered for EvoNodes and not for regular masternodes; - `evo_shares_follows_v24`. - New functional test `feature_evo_shares_activation.py`: a masternode signs another masternode-activated deployment (`testdummy`) but never `evo_shares`, which stays `defined`; an EvoNode keeps one owner payout until `evo_shares` is active (registration, registrar update, update with operator key rotation). It then lets miners activate `evo_shares` (`-vbparams` with EHF disabled) and checks EvoNodes can update and register with several owner payouts. - `feature_masternode_shares.py`: shared EvoNode preparation fails before activation; the same signed registration is rejected with `bad-protx-shares-evo` in a block below the activation height; after activation it registers, is paid split by shares, updates its Platform service, a share reward and its voting key, and dissolves with a refund to every share. - Mutation checks, run locally: disabling either consensus rule fails exactly the restricted cases of the new unit tests; letting the signer sign `evo_shares` fails `feature_evo_shares_activation.py`. - Also run: `rpc_blockchain.py`, `rpc_help.py`, `feature_mnehf.py`, `feature_versionbits_warning.py`, `mining_basic.py`, `feature_protx_version.py`, `feature_dip3_deterministicmns.py`, `rpc_netinfo.py`, `feature_asset_locks.py`, `wallet_dash_rpcs.py`; Python, whitespace, file, include, assertion and format-string lints. ## Breaking Changes Consensus change to rules that are not active on mainnet or testnet yet: - Testnet: `v24` is not active yet (the tip coinbase is still CbTx version 3), so no historical block is affected. Testnet masternodes should run a build with this change before `v24` activates there, otherwise an EvoNode registered or updated with several owner payouts after activation would split them from upgraded nodes. - Devnets where `v24` is already active (its devnet start time is July 2025): any EvoNode registered or updated there with more than one owner payout makes those blocks invalid for this build, so such devnets need to check (`protx list registered 1`) or be reset. - New RPC `protx shared_register_prepare_evo`. Follow-up outside this repo: the shared masternode DIP should describe the `platformNodeID` field in the EvoNode consent digest. ## Checklist: - [x] I have performed a self-review of my own code - [x] I have made corresponding changes to the documentation - [ ] I have assigned this pull request to a milestone _(for repository code-owners and collaborators only)_ 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) Top commit has no ACKs. Includes partial bitcoin#36170 (5f40d56). Upstream's dedicated-onion-bind changes to `feature_torcontrol.py` and `p2p_private_broadcast.py` are not included, because those tests depend on upstream commits (5693833, e74d54e) that Dash does not have. - #7796 backport: bitcoin#26720 (remaining), partial bitcoin#29523: weight-check the knapsack exact-match selection - #7803 fix: return non-zero amount of accounts after sethdseed - #7776 fix: keep a pending ProUpServTx across a registrar update that keeps the operator key - #7807 feat(consensus): hold EvoNode shares and multiple payouts behind a new evo_shares deployment One pick needed conflict resolution, in a test only, described in its commit message: #7793, `test/functional/wallet_migration.py`. `test_conflict_txs()` comes from bitcoin#28542 (#7762), which is not on this branch, so it is left out. The C++ part of #7793 is identical to develop. Merged since rc.2 but intentionally not included: #7775 (24.1 version bump), #7260 and #7804 (new Qt feature and its CI fix), #7584 (refactor), routine upstream backports #7257, #7759, #7762, #7768, #7788, #7801, and test/CI-only changes #7777 and #7797. No version change is needed. `configure.ac` is already 24.0.0 with `CLIENT_VERSION_IS_RELEASE` false, so the build takes its version string from the `v24.0.0-rc.3` tag, as it did for rc.2. ## How Has This Been Tested? Built on macOS arm64 against depends with `--enable-debug --enable-werror` (dashd, dash-qt, tests). - `make check`: all unit test suites pass, including `test_dash-qt`. - Functional tests, all passing: `feature_evo_shares_activation.py`, `feature_masternode_shares.py`, `feature_mnehf.py`, `feature_governance.py --descriptors`, `feature_governance_objects.py`, `feature_governance_txindex_devnet.py`, `feature_proxy.py`, `feature_notifications.py`, `feature_llmq_connections.py`, `feature_llmq_chainlocks_automatic.py`, `feature_llmq_singlenode.py`, `p2p_instantsend.py`, `rpc_blockchain.py` (v1 and v2 transport), `rpc_netinfo.py`, `rpc_quorum.py`, `rpc_verifychainlock.py`, `wallet_hd.py` (legacy and descriptors), `wallet_migration.py`. - `feature_bind_extra.py` (from #7786) only runs on Linux and was skipped locally, so CI covers it. Every touched file was diffed against develop. The remaining differences come only from develop PRs that are not part of this backport. ## Breaking Changes Carried over from the picked PRs: - #7807: consensus change behind the new `evo_shares` deployment (bit 14). Mainnet and testnet are unaffected until it activates. Devnets with `v24` already active and an EvoNode carrying several owner payouts need to check or reset. New RPC `protx shared_register_prepare_evo`. - #7785: outside regtest, a node with `-txindex=0` and without `-disablegovernance` refuses to start again, as before v23.1.0. - #7786: carries a partial bitcoin#36170. A node started with `-bind` but no specific `-bind=<addr:port>=onion` now refuses to start while `-listenonion` is enabled. That is the default when listening, even without Tor configured. A wildcard onion bind is also refused. Such nodes need `-bind=127.0.0.1:<port>=onion` or `-listenonion=0`. Nodes without `-bind`, including those using only `-whitebind`, keep the default `127.0.0.1:9996` (`19996` testnet) onion target. See `doc/release-notes-7300.md`. - #7779: `protx listdiff` now includes `platform_p2p` and `platform_https` for a legacy-address evonode whose core P2P address changes. ## Checklist: - [x] I have performed a self-review of my own code - [ ] I have made corresponding changes to the documentation - [ ] I have assigned this pull request to a milestone 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) Top commit has no ACKs. This is not optimal, since as a stand-alone library it should not rely on bitcoind's argument parsing logic. Instead, its interfaces should accept control and options structs that control the kernel library's desired configuration. Similar work towards decoupling the `ArgsManager` from the kernel has been done in bitcoin#25290, bitcoin#25487, bitcoin#25527 and bitcoin#25862. #### Changes By moving the `CChainParams` class definition into the kernel and giving it new factory functions `CChainParams::{RegTest,SigNet,Main,TestNet}`it can be constructed without an `ArgsManager` reference, unlike the current factory function `CreateChainParams`. The first few commits remove uses of `ArgsManager` within `CChainParams`. Then the `CChainParams` definition is moved to a new file in the `kernel/` subdirectory. All Dash accessors and fields are kept: DevNetGenesisBlock, GetDefaultPlatformP2PPort/HTTPPort, RequireRoutableExternalIP, AllowMultipleAddressesFromGroup, LLMQConnectionRetryTimeout, Bech32PlatformHRP, ExtCoinType, IsValidMNActivation, PoolMin/MaxParticipants, FulfilledRequestExpireTime, SporkAddress, CreditPoolPeriodBlocks, GetLLMQ/AddLLMQ, UpdateDIP3/DIP8/Budget/LLMQInstantSend declarations. - src/kernel/chainparams.{h,cpp}: Dash has a fourth network, so a fourth factory CChainParams::DevNet(const DevNetOptions&) was added alongside Main()/TestNet()/RegTest(opts), mirroring upstream's pattern. - src/kernel/chainparams.h: CChainParams::VersionBitsParameters carries Dash's extra -vbparams fields (window_size, threshold_start, threshold_min, falloff_coeff, use_ehf) with the existing -1 "leave unchanged" sentinel, so -vbparams semantics are unchanged. - src/kernel/chainparams.h: RegTestOptions is extended with Dash-only entries (dip3_parameters, budget_parameters, llmq_test_parameters, llmq_dip0024_instantsend) and DevNetOptions carries name, minimum_difficulty_blocks, high_subsidy_blocks, high_subsidy_factor, pow_target_spacing, llmq_chainlocks, llmq_dip0024_instantsend, llmq_platform, llmq_mnhf, llmq_devnet_parameters, plus helper structs LLMQParameters/DIP3Parameters/BudgetParameters. - LLMQ overrides travel as quorum *names* (strings) in the options structs: resolving a name to a Consensus::LLMQType needs the per-chain consensus.llmqs list, which only exists inside the kernel constructors. The lookup loops, the rotation checks and the exact error strings/LogPrintf messages of the old Update*FromArgs functions are preserved, just moved into the kernel side. - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: FindDevNetGenesisBlock()/CDevNetParams no longer call gArgs.GetDevNetName(); the devnet name arrives via DevNetOptions::name (filled by ReadDevNetArgs from args.GetDevNetName()), which is what keeps the kernel gArgs-free. - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: CRegTestParams::UpdateActivationParameters switches exhaustively over Dash's 15 Consensus::BuriedDeployment values (no -Wswitch warning); DEPLOYMENT_DIP0024 sets both DIP0024Height and DIP0024QuorumsHeight, exactly as the old name-based if/else did. DEPLOYMENT_DIP0003/DIP0020/WITHDRAWALS are unreachable because GetBuriedDeployment does not map any -testactivationheight name to them, matching current behaviour. - src/deploymentinfo.cpp: GetBuriedDeployment() was auto-applied with Bitcoin's names and returned DEPLOYMENT_SEGWIT, which does not exist in Dash. Rewritten to the exact set of names -testactivationheight accepted before (bip147, bip34, dersig, cltv, csv, brr, dip0001, dip0008, dip0024, v19, v20, mn_rr); no name was added or removed. - src/chainparams.cpp: Dash's arg readers keep their existing decomposition as file-static helpers (ReadRegTestActivationArgs/DIP3/Budget/LLMQTest/LLMQInstantSendDIP0024, ReadDevNetSubsidyAndDiffArgs/PowTargetSpacing/LLMQDevnetParams) called from ReadRegTestArgs()/ReadDevNetArgs(). Merging them into one function was not possible verbatim because each body ends with an early `if (!args.IsArgSet(...)) return;`. - src/chainparams.cpp: ReadDevNetSubsidyAndDiffArgs applies -minimumdifficultyblocks/-highsubsidyblocks/-highsubsidyfactor as independent optionals and therefore logs three separate lines instead of the single combined LogPrintf; net effect on consensus is identical (unset values keep the chain defaults, which are no longer visible from the arg reader). - src/chainparams.cpp: CreateChainParams dispatches MAIN/TESTNET/DEVNET/REGTEST; the DEVNET branch uses the new ReadDevNetArgs + CChainParams::DevNet(opts). Include list and SetupChainParamsOptions() are untouched, as upstream left them untouched. - src/validation.h: added <deploymentstatus.h>, <kernel/chainparams.h>, <kernel/chainstatemanager_opts.h>, <node/blockstorage.h>. Upstream's <fs.h> and <kernel/cs_main.h> were not added: Dash uses util/fs.h and does not have that include in this block. Not applicable to Dash (intentionally omitted): - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: Upstream's SigNetParams class body, CChainParams::SigNet() factory and the signet challenge/seed handling moved into the kernel file; Dash has no signet chain, so there is no counterpart to move. Dash's own CMainParams/CTestNetParams/CDevNetParams/CRegTestParams (with all DIP/LLMQ/masternode/governance/spork parameters) were moved instead. (reviewer: not for Dash) - src/kernel/chainparams.h: Upstream's SigNetOptions struct (challenge/seeds) and the static SigNet() declaration; no signet in Dash. Dash instead declares VersionBitsParameters (extended with window/threshold/falloff/useEHF), LLMQParameters, DIP3Parameters, BudgetParameters, DevNetOptions and RegTestOptions. (reviewer: not for Dash) - src/chainparams.cpp: ReadSigNetArgs() and the CBaseChainParams::SIGNET branch of CreateChainParams(); Dash has no signet. Dash adds ReadDevNetArgs()/the DEVNET branch in the same shape. (reviewer: not for Dash) - src/deploymentinfo.cpp: GetBuriedDeployment() returning Consensus::DEPLOYMENT_SEGWIT for name "segwit"; Dash has no segwit buried deployment. The Dash function covers exactly the 12 names the previous MaybeUpdateHeights() accepted (bip147, bip34, dersig, cltv, csv, brr, dip0001, dip0008, dip0024, v19, v20, mn_rr). (reviewer: not for Dash) - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: Upstream's segwit/taproot consensus fields, script_flag_exceptions maps and bech32_hrp carried in the moved Bitcoin chain classes; Dash's classes have no such fields (Dash keeps bech32_platform_hrp, nExtCoinType, EvoSnapshotHash etc., all of which were moved). (reviewer: not for Dash) Replayed onto a newer base. Dash adaptations: - src/kernel/chainparams.h: EvoSnapshotHash struct and AssumeutxoData::evo_hash (added to src/chainparams.h on the new develop base) travel with the class into the kernel header, so develop's Dash evo-snapshot field is preserved. - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: FindDevNetGenesisBlock() and CChainParams::AddLLMQ() use develop's LogError("...\n", ...) instead of the base's error(...) — the new base replaced error() in these two Dash-only helpers before they were moved. - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: the two CRegTestParams m_assumeutxo_data entries carry develop's third aggregate member, EvoSnapshotHash{uint256{}}, between AssumeutxoHash and nChainTx. - src/chainparams.cpp: develop's '2009-2022 The Bitcoin Core developers' copyright line kept rather than the pre-rebase 2009-2021. - src/validation.h: upstream's kernel/chainparams.h + kernel/chainstatemanager_opts.h are inserted in sorted position alongside develop's new <kernel/cs_main.h> // IWYU pragma: export, which did not exist at the prior base. Upstream's <fs.h> is still not added: Dash uses util/fs.h. - src/wallet/test/wallet_tests.cpp: the prior backport added #include <chainparams.h> to wallet/test/availablecoins_tests.cpp (needed because validation.h no longer re-exports Params()); the new base deleted that file and moved the Dash-only UTXO tests into wallet_tests.cpp, so the include was applied there instead — that file calls Params().GetConsensus().DIP0003Height. - src/wallet/test/availablecoins_tests.cpp: deleted, following the new base (bitcoin#25789 + the Dash-only test move); the file's only backport hunk was the include described above. - src/kernel/chainparams.{h,cpp} content (Dash CChainParams instead of Bitcoin's, fourth DevNet() factory, Dash-extended VersionBitsParameters/RegTestOptions/DevNetOptions, name-based LLMQ override resolution, gArgs-free devnet name via DevNetOptions::name, Dash-specific GetBuriedDeployment names) is unchanged from the reviewed prior backport; see the prior commit body for the full rationale. Not applicable to Dash (intentionally omitted): - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: Upstream's CSigNetParams / SigNetOptions / CChainParams::SigNet() and the ReadSigNetArgs reader: Dash has no signet chain, so there is no counterpart to move. - src/kernel/chainparams.h: Upstream's SigNetOptions struct and the signet challenge/seed members: no signet in Dash. - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: Upstream's segwit/taproot chain fields and script_flag_exceptions maps do not exist in Dash; Dash's own chain classes (including DIP/LLMQ/masternode/governance/spork parameters) were moved instead. - src/deploymentinfo.cpp: Upstream's GetBuriedDeployment() returns Consensus::DEPLOYMENT_SEGWIT, which does not exist in Dash; the function was written over the exact set of names -testactivationheight already accepted (bip147, bip34, dersig, cltv, csv, brr, dip0001, dip0008, dip0024, v19, v20, mn_rr). Replayed onto a newer base. Dash adaptations: - src/chainparams.cpp: conflict resolved to the prior reviewed backport's content (verified identical to merge stage :3); the Dash CreateGenesisBlock/CreateDevNetGenesisBlock/FindDevNetGenesisBlock helpers, IsValidMNActivation, AddLLMQ/GetLLMQ and the CMain/CTestNet/CDevNet/CRegTest classes move to src/kernel/chainparams.cpp, leaving only the gArgs-reading Read*Args helpers behind - src/chainparams.h: conflict resolved to the prior reviewed backport's content; the Dash-extended CChainParams (platform ports, devnet genesis, LLMQ/spork/CoinJoin/credit-pool accessors, EvoSnapshotHash in AssumeutxoData) moves to src/kernel/chainparams.h, which this header now includes - src/kernel/chainparams.h: dropped RequireStandard()/fRequireStandard from the moved class — the new base already removed them from CChainParams via bitcoin#28354 (default acceptnonstdtxn=0 on all chains), which was not yet in the prior backport's base - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: dropped the four fRequireStandard assignments (main/testnet/devnet/regtest) for the same reason - upstream ReadSigNetArgs has no Dash counterpart (no signet); the prior backport instead routes Dash's devnet through ReadDevNetArgs()/CChainParams::DevNet(DevNetOptions) and keeps the Dash-only -dip3params/-budgetparams/-llmqtest*/-llmqdevnetparams/-powtargetspacing readers as RegTest/DevNet option readers - upstream's flat ReadRegTestArgs is split into ReadRegTest{Activation,DIP3,Budget,LLMQTest,LLMQInstantSendDIP0024}Args because Dash's -vbparams accepts 3/4/6/9 fields (window, thresholdstart, thresholdmin, falloffcoeff, useehf) and regtest has several more Dash-only overrides Replayed onto a newer base. Dash adaptations: - src/chainparams.cpp: took the upstream side of the conflict, which removes the network classes (now in kernel/chainparams.cpp) and keeps the gArgs readers (ReadRegTestArgs/ReadDevNetArgs, CreateChainParams, SelectParams, SetupChainParamsOptions); matches the upstream stage and the previously reviewed prior.diff - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: carried develop's CTestNetParams DEPLOYMENT_V24 nStartTime = 1790208000 (Thursday, September 24, 2026) into the moved testnet class; the old base had NEVER_ACTIVE, and this was the only change to src/chainparams.cpp between the old and new base Replayed onto a newer base. Dash adaptations: - src/bitcoin-chainstate.cpp: the ChainstateManager::Options initializer has no `.datadir = gArgs.GetDataDirNet(),` line because the new develop base's kernel::ChainstateManagerOpts has no `datadir` member (the prior base had one). Upstream only uses that line as context, so the upstream change `.chainparams = chainparams` -> `.chainparams = *chainparams` is applied alone. - All other staged files carry forward the published prior backport unchanged; their Dash adaptations (Makefile.am kernel/chainparams.cpp in libbitcoin_common and libdashkernel, added <chainparams.h> includes in Dash-only files such as active/dkgsession.cpp, chainlock/signing.cpp, instantsend/net_instantsend.cpp, qt/test/providertransactiontests.cpp and Dash tests, and the Dash CChainParams move into kernel/chainparams.cpp) are the same as in prior.diff Replayed onto a newer base. Dash adaptations: - src/chainparams.cpp: restored exactly the published resolution from prior.diff (checked by comparing its +/- lines with prior.diff: identical). Only the class bodies differ on the new base, and they move to kernel, so no line here changed. - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: DEPLOYMENT_V24 .bit changed from 12 to 13 in CMainParams, CTestNetParams, CDevNetParams and CRegTestParams, carrying develop commit 1be3ac2 over to the moved classes. Without this the move would quietly undo the bit change. - All other staged files (Makefile.am, chainparams.h, deploymentinfo.{h,cpp}, validation.{h,cpp}, versionbits.h, node/blockstorage.cpp, node/mempool_args.cpp, bitcoin-chainstate.cpp, kernel/chainparams.h, and the Dash-only call sites active/dkgsession.cpp, chainlock/signing.cpp, instantsend/net_instantsend.cpp, qt/test/*, test/bls_tests.cpp, test/evo_islock_tests.cpp, test/llmq_chainlock_tests.cpp, test/validation_tests.cpp, wallet/test/wallet_tests.cpp) are unchanged from the published prior.diff, including its Dash adaptations: DevNetOptions/RegTestOptions for the LLMQ, DIP3, budget and devnet overrides, GetBuriedDeployment covering Dash's buried deployments, and the <chainparams.h> include fixes at call sites. Replayed onto a newer base. Dash adaptations: - src/validation.cpp: include conflict with the new base, which added #include <kernel/disconnected_transactions.h> where this backport adds #include <kernel/chainparams.h>; kept both, sorted alphabetically - src/active/dkgsession.cpp, src/chainlock/signing.cpp, src/instantsend/net_instantsend.cpp, src/qt/test/providertransactiontests.cpp, src/qt/test/wallettests.cpp, src/test/bls_tests.cpp, src/test/evo_islock_tests.cpp, src/test/llmq_chainlock_tests.cpp, src/test/validation_tests.cpp: (kept from the published backport) these Dash files now include <chainparams.h> directly, because validation.h includes <kernel/chainparams.h> instead of <chainparams.h> and so no longer pulls in Params() - src/chainparams.cpp, src/chainparams.h, src/kernel/chainparams.cpp, src/kernel/chainparams.h, src/deploymentinfo.*, src/versionbits.h, src/bitcoin-chainstate.cpp, src/node/*, src/validation.h, src/Makefile.am, src/wallet/test/wallet_tests.cpp: (kept from the published backport) carried over unchanged, including the Dash chain parameters, LLMQ and other Dash-specific fields moved into kernel/chainparams, and all earlier review fixes Replayed onto a newer base. Dash adaptations: - src/chainparams.cpp: took the prior backport's version unchanged (it matches blob 8d5a119, the prior post-image). On the HEAD side, the only change since the prior base (15db478) was dashpay#7807's DEPLOYMENT_EVO_SHARES blocks in the network classes, and this PR moves those classes out of the file - src/kernel/chainparams.cpp: added dashpay#7807's DEPLOYMENT_EVO_SHARES settings (bit 14, start/timeout, window, thresholds, falloff, useEHF) right after the DEPLOYMENT_V24 block in CMainParams, CTestNetParams, CDevNetParams and CRegTestParams, word for word, including mainnet's NEVER_ACTIVE/TODO start time. This keeps dashpay#7807's settings now that the class definitions live in kernel/chainparams.cpp - Carried over from the prior reviewed backport unchanged: Dash-only call sites (src/active/dkgsession.cpp, src/chainlock/signing.cpp, src/instantsend/net_instantsend.cpp, src/qt/test/providertransactiontests.cpp, src/qt/test/wallettests.cpp, src/test/bls_tests.cpp, src/test/evo_islock_tests.cpp, src/test/llmq_chainlock_tests.cpp, src/test/validation_tests.cpp, src/wallet/test/wallet_tests.cpp, src/versionbits.h) and the Dash devnet/LLMQ/EHF parts of src/kernel/chainparams.{h,cpp} and src/chainparams.{h,cpp}
Issue being fixed or feature implemented
Platform does not support EvoNodes with shared collateral or with more than one owner payout yet, and asked that v24 not allow them. v24 introduces both (shared masternode collateral and the version 3 payout list), and today an EvoNode can already register or update with several owner payouts; only shared EvoNode registration is rejected, statelessly.
This PR keeps both disabled for EvoNodes in v24 and adds a deployment,
evo_shares, that lifts the restriction later (planned for v24.1, once Platform supports it) without a chain split between v24 and v24.1 nodes.Important
Mainnet
v24andevo_sharesstart times are both stillTODO. They must be set to the same value before release. A new unit test (evo_shares_follows_v24) fails ifevo_shares' parameters ever differ fromv24's on any network, so the mainnet start time cannot be filled in for only one of them. Why v24 does not sign it instead of using a later start time
The new deployment's consensus parameters ship in v24 and must be identical in v24.1:
nStartTimeis consensus (it gates versionbitsSTARTED, and an MNHF signal mined before it is treated as expired), so v24.1 cannot move it, and a start time could not express "once enough of the network runs v24.1" anyway. Instead v24 masternodes simply do not sign theevo_sharesMNHF signal. A masternode-activated deployment cannot start until its signal is mined, soevo_sharesstays inactive until masternodes running v24.1 sign it; v24 nodes follow it from then on like any other deployment. What was done?
SpecialTxRules(filled byGetSpecialTxRules()) replaces thebool is_v24_activeparameter ofCheckSpecialTx,ProcessSpecialTxsInBlockand their callers, so another deployment can be passed without touching every caller again. No behaviour change.DEPLOYMENT_EVO_SHARES(evo_shares, bit 14, masternode-activated) withv24's window, thresholds and start times on every network. Consensus change to rules that are not active on mainnet or testnet yet:
v24is not active yet (the tip coinbase is still CbTx version 3), so no historical block is affected. Testnet masternodes should run a build with this change beforev24activates there, otherwise an EvoNode registered or updated with several owner payouts after activation would split them from upgraded nodes.v24is already active (its devnet start time is July 2025): any EvoNode registered or updated there with more than one owner payout makes those blocks invalid for this build, so such devnets need to check (protx list registered 1) or be reset.protx shared_register_prepare_evo.Follow-up outside this repo: the shared masternode DIP should describe the
platformNodeIDfield in the EvoNode consent digest.Checklist:
