feat(clients): connect Qoder CN and WorkBuddy desktop editions - #7665
Add independent Connect cards, settings tabs, API exports and CLI client IDs for Qoder CN, WorkBuddy (CN) and WorkBuddy AI. Enabling writes the current OpenCodex catalog into each client's native custom-model configuration; the proxy must remain running.
Reuse snapshot-first apply, owned-catalog refresh, surgical disable and Undo. WorkBuddy preserves both legacy root arrays and object-form model lists, uses canonical model IDs and full Chat Completions URLs, and exports only declared capabilities/limits. Existing model visibility restrictions refuse apply/refresh without preventing status, disable or recovery. Regional defaults remain separate, and relative path overrides refuse.
Keep placeholder credentials restricted to unauthenticated loopback listeners. No upstream credentials are copied. Update all GUI locales, CLI help, integration docs and focused regressions.
Scope: Doubao Desktop and Devin are not added: no supported arbitrary-provider configuration contract was verified for them. A local config entry alone would not make their model pickers consume OpenCodex models. This PR implements the three integrations with a verified configuration contract; it does not claim native-app conversation E2E proof.
Verification
Latest maintainer follow-up addressed at head ff203045bb47da19ce58ac9951e73a75112c8d76 (fix commit 436b9134c37946af6151e75fd12c8f599e402b5c).
Current changes
Extended qoderLegacyCatalogConflict to both qoder and qoder-cn. Both editions now refuse an unowned legacy row that collides with the provider catalog, before reporting a successful apply.
Parameterized the existing collision regressions for both editions. They cover apply, preview, refresh and overwrite, verify unchanged config bytes and ownership records on refusal, and preserve non-conflicting foreign models. The two new CN refusal cases failed before the guard fix and pass afterward; all 15 Qoder tests pass.
Removed the English guide's fixed client count instead of replacing it with another hard-coded number. The structure contract now explicitly covers both editions.
After the fix, merged current dev at 8ebe46b2076445d100cef1e52af4d98d78f8f1e1. This merge had no textual conflicts, and existing feature and review-fix commits are preserved. Main test-layout registration did not grow; this round parameterizes an existing test file.
Earlier WorkBuddy selector-recovery fixes, regional paths, snapshots and ownership checks remain covered. #7529 remains a separate open T3 Code PR; no unmerged implementation from it is carried here.
Current-head local validation
Backend checks use the repository-pinned Bun 1.4.4 through node_modules/.bin/bun.
cd gui && bun test tests/integrations-api.test.ts tests/integrations-tab-coverage.test.ts tests/client-config-panel.test.tsx — 47 passed, 0 failed.
node_modules/.bin/bun run typecheck, node_modules/.bin/bun run structure:check, node_modules/.bin/bun run privacy:scan, and git diff --check — passed.
cd gui && bun run lint:i18n && bun run build — passed; Vite retains its existing large-chunk warning.
cd docs-site && bun install --frozen-lockfile && bun run build — passed, 593 pages, 84,875 internal links checked.
The user requested core validation only. The focused checks cover the collision guard, no-write refusals, shared lifecycle/preview behavior, WorkBuddy recovery, client registration and the merge's GUI surface. The full suite and cross-platform checks were not run locally. No new browser or native-client conversation E2E run was performed; screenshots below are from the original isolated dashboard smoke run.
Outstanding external gates: the maintainer requested full-platform CI before integration and will run it. Executable fork CI still requires maintainer authorization, and export/admission changes require maintainer security review. No full-platform pass, native-client E2E, security approval or merge approval is claimed.
Screenshot evidence is on pr-assets/agent-client-connections, outside the feature branch.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added integrations for Qoder CN, WorkBuddy (CN), and WorkBuddy AI in the app and through CLI export and sync.
Each integration manages its own configuration while preserving unrelated settings, with snapshot-based undo. Loopback access is required. WorkBuddy changes may be blocked when model selections cannot be safely represented or would hide available models.
Documentation
Expanded integration guidance with configuration options, dashboard and CLI workflows, and client restart advice. Clarified that some clients have no documented enable switch and removed outdated fixed client counts.
It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.

Walkthrough
The change adds Qoder CN, WorkBuddy, and WorkBuddy AI as managed integrations. It adds configuration export and lifecycle handling, registers the clients across CLI and GUI workflows, and documents their settings paths, configuration rules, and lifecycle behavior.
Adds separate Qoder CN and WorkBuddy config paths, builders, managed contributions, and registry entries. WorkBuddy supports object-root and array-root model lists. It applies loopback and model-selector checks, and can refuse apply or refresh when selectors or availableModels restrictions prevent writes. Tests cover paths, preservation of other settings, lifecycle operations, selector recovery, and Qoder collision handling.
Sync and CLI wiring src/integrations/catalog-refresh.ts, src/cli/*, src/server/management/config-routes.ts, src/server/management/model-routes.ts, tests/cli/cli-dispatch.test.ts, tests/clients/sync-client-integrations*.test.ts
Adds the clients to catalog refresh and sync lists. Export commands route them through the management API. CLI client lists, help text, and loopback-auth checks are updated.
Adds integration tabs, routing hashes, labels, marks, and translated descriptions for the three clients. GUI tests and lifecycle fixtures include the new client IDs.
Documents config paths, overrides, setup and lifecycle behavior, WorkBuddy config shapes and model restrictions, and the stated lack of a verified arbitrary-provider configuration contract for Doubao Desktop and Devin. Localized guides remove the fixed count of 18 clients.

Explanation
The title "feat(clients): connect Qoder CN and WorkBuddy desktop editions" matches the main change in the changeset. The raw summary and PR objectives show new Qoder CN, WorkBuddy, and WorkBuddy AI client integrations across the GUI, CLI, config export, and tests. The title names two of the three new clients and omits WorkBuddy AI, but it does not misdescribe the change. It is 62 characters and 8 words, which fits the short, single-sentence format.

No WorkBuddy-specific instruction change is required.
WorkBuddy sets apiKeyEnv to an empty string and uses a non-secret loopback placeholder. The dialog therefore hides the environment-variable instructions. It only shows the generic merge warning, which does not tell users to configure a key or prescribe an incompatible JSON shape.

Maintainer triage review (round 2, against dev 0aeaf0c). Thanks for the integration work. Findings before this can be considered:
Status/disable can throw on an unrepresentable model id.src/clients/config-export/agent-clients.ts:37 throws while building the contribution, and that path is reached even for disable (src/integrations/mutation-plan.ts:1012). Please make apply return a bounded refusal, and let status/disable work from the recorded ownership independently of today's catalog. A regression with an unrepresentable id would cover it.
Docs: the accepted tilde syntax at docs-site/src/content/docs/guides/integrations.md:90 does not match the implementation, and localized client counts are stale (for example ko/guides/integrations.md:6).
Thanks for the review. Addressed the requested changes in fcef076:
Unrepresentable WorkBuddy IDs now return a bounded apply/refresh refusal. Status, disable and Undo continue checking recorded ownership without requiring selectors for today's catalog. Added 12 regressions covering both editions and both JSON shapes, including foreign-edit protection; they failed before the fix and pass afterward.
Corrected the accepted tilde forms and removed stale client counts in the Japanese, Korean, Russian and Simplified Chinese guides.
Merged dev at 5d995c9 and resolved the conflict by retaining both upstream's typed selector-error handling and this PR's apply validation. Preserved upstream's Qoder provider-only schema. The branch currently has no merge conflict. feat(clients): add T3 Code as an export and integration client #7529 remains separate; its unmerged implementation was not carried into this PR.
Moved both feature-test registrations into scripts/test-layout/layout-clients.json. The main layout.json is unchanged from the merged dev revision and remains 1,999 lines.
Current-head focused validation passed: 241 backend/integration/layout tests, 61 CLI/export/management tests, and 47 GUI tests, plus typecheck, structure check, privacy scan, GUI build and docs build. Backend tests used the updated Bun 1.4.4 pin. Full-suite and cross-platform local runs were omitted under the documented core-validation scope; native-client conversation E2E remains unverified.
The executable CI workflows for this head still report action_required. Could you please approve those runs and perform the required export/admission security review? The updated verification details are in the PR description.
Maintainer review, round 2 (head fcef076, against dev 50afcec). Thanks for the fixes: the unrepresentable-model refusal, recorded-ownership status/disable, the tilde syntax docs and the localized counts all look right now.
Two remaining items:
P2: Qoder CN skips the legacy-catalog collision guard.src/clients/config-export/agent-clients.ts:30 gives the shared Qoder contribution the qoder-cn identity, but src/integrations/state.ts:138 only checks collisions for qoder. If CN settings already contain an unowned modelConfigs.customModels row such as {provider:"opencodex", model:"mock/a"}, enabling the same catalog adds providers.opencodex and keeps the conflicting row, which the client then rejects while apply reports success. Please extend the guard to both editions and parameterize the existing collision regressions (tests/clients/qoder-client.test.ts:230) for CN, covering apply, refresh and overwrite with no writes on refusal.
P3:docs-site/src/content/docs/guides/integrations.md:7 still says "Twenty clients"; the table now lists 23. Dropping the fixed count, as in the localized pages, avoids this drifting again.
The branch is also 13 commits behind dev (the readiness gate allows 10); please merge current dev after the fix. The change touches Windows-sensitive paths, so a maintainer will run the full-platform CI before integration.

CI shard 2/4 failed on the exact EXPORT_CLIENT_IDS assertion, which still listed
the pre-PR roster (and miscounted it as nineteen). It now names all 23 clients.
The CI gates job failed on dev's localization and mark guards: Qoder CN,
WorkBuddy (CN) and WorkBuddy AI are product names kept in English (fr and zh-TW
allowlists, like Qoder), and both WorkBuddy editions deliberately render the
monogram until a mark is wired for each.

Maintainer commits on the branch (merges only, no rebase):
27f67d9c0 imports ClientPathError from the leaf client-path module in agent-clients.ts and qoder.ts. That removes the new import cycle and shrinks the cycle baseline by two modules. It also names Qoder CN, WorkBuddy and WorkBuddy AI in the ocx export summary, which settles the open CodeRabbit thread at src/cli/registry.ts:521.
761472ffa updates the exact EXPORT_CLIENT_IDS roster assertion, which CI shard 2/4 failed on, to all 23 clients.
6d9ba4a77 responds to the CI gates job: Qoder CN, WorkBuddy (CN) and WorkBuddy AI are product names, so they join the fr and zh-TW keep-English allowlists next to Qoder. Both WorkBuddy editions are pinned as deliberate monogram decisions in the two mark guards. Rendering is unchanged.
The remaining commits merge dev in; the only conflict was a test-layout shard, where both registrations are kept.
Required CI on the exact head (fork workflows approved after diff review): Cross-platform CI 40319105870 (success); Catalog async contracts 40319106015 (success); React Doctor 40319105987 (success); Enforce PR target branch 40319101951 (success); PR hygiene 40319102055 (success). Not Windows-sensitive: no Windows path filter or marker hit.
Independent reviews (separate agent):
Round 1 on ff203045b: MUSTFIX with 2 blocking findings. The import cycle is fixed. The second, drive-less rooted overrides on Windows (\\client, /client), was rebutted and the rebuttal accepted: the shared src/clients/client-path.ts helper applies the same rule to every existing client, so this PR makes nothing worse. It's left for a repo-wide follow-up.
Maintainer recheck on this head merged onto origin/dev609ce905e: bun test --isolate on the agent, Qoder and WorkBuddy client tests, client config export (both files), integrations state, the layout guard, and the import-cycle, file-size and structure gates: 292 pass / 0 fail (pinned Bun 1.4.4). Typecheck exit 0. Earlier, on this head merged with 9d155272a: 58 client/export files gave 1423 pass with 1 fail, the cli-help recover-history failure that occurs identically on clean dev; the full GUI suite was green.
NOT RUN: real desktop-client end-to-end runs; full local suite.
