test(config): honor ownership test platform exclusions on Bun - #8239
Six ownership tests declare platform exclusions with test(name, { skip: condition }, fn). Bun 1.4.4 accepts an options object but does not implement its skip field, so these cases still execute on Windows, including POSIX permissions and open-file unlink cases.
Use Bun's supported test.skipIf(condition)(name, fn) modifier. Every existing condition, body, assertion and timeout is preserved. The two permission cases still also skip root on POSIX; ordinary POSIX execution remains enabled. No product logic or security checks change.
This single-file change is independent of #8238's busy-lock retry and start-barrier correction. Both are based on dev 250ef01; this branch contains the six modifier replacements and a real-busy-lock fallback control.
Verification
Review follow-up adds a platform-independent real SQLite busy-lock rotation test. The lock stays held through rotation and the rotated file remains unrecorded; cleanup stops the logger before releasing the lock even if an assertion fails. This restores Windows coverage for the behavior whose hardlink fixture is intentionally POSIX-only.
Final rotation group on Windows: 2 passed / 1 skipped / 0 failed / 11 assertions. The new case passed in 408 ms under the unchanged default 5-second timeout; typecheck, file-size and diff checks passed. No product or existing test timeout changed.
Prior c63fb3cCI 42291044147 passed. Current 0b80db3058fa3fbd189842f90a97dd453c2a7a7bCI 42292942790 and same-head CodeRabbit review have now completed successfully. The rotation coverage finding is resolved; the PR is ready for maintainer review.
Installed Bun 1.4.4 types list timeout, retry and repeats in TestOptions; conditional skipping is test.skipIf.
Standalone API control: { skip: true } executed and failed its sentinel assertion; test.skipIf(true) was skipped. No repository preload was involved.
Focused selection of all six affected cases under the normal isolation wrapper on Windows: 6 skipped / 0 failed, matching their existing conditions.
Whole file in the existing private Windows temporary root: 37 passed / 6 skipped / 3 failed. The known cold-start busy-lock failure belongs to separate test(config): retry busy first ownership registrations #8238. Two unmodified uninstall cases reported an unowned temporary journal / a refused ownership check; those results are retained as failures, not hidden by extra skips.
An earlier diagnostic run under D: had 19 passed / 6 skipped / 21 failed because the temporary root inherited Everyone access. The product's elevated-uninstall safety guard correctly refused that root. Validation was moved back to the already private user-owned temporary root; no ACL or safety checks were weakened.
bun check --no-script --noEmit (2,322 source files), privacy scan, file-size ratchet and git diff --check passed. The source typecheck does not include the test file; it is not evidence that unsupported test options were accepted.
The full repository suite is disproportionate on the shared Windows host. These tests retain their POSIX execution conditions and hosted Ubuntu CI will verify those bodies. Full Windows success is not claimed.
Checklist
Scope stays focused and avoids unrelated cleanup.
Docs or release notes were updated when needed. This restores existing test platform conditions only.
Security-sensitive changes were reviewed for secrets, auth, and unsafe defaults. No product/auth/permission changes.
Current-head hosted CI and review are complete.

Tests
Added coverage confirming log rotation can proceed while the ownership lock is held, creating a rotated log without adding it to the manifest.
Clarified platform and privilege-based skip conditions for six tests; the conditions remain unchanged.
No actionable comments were generated in the recent review.
Walkthrough
The concurrent config ownership test file adds a service-log rotation test for a held ownership lock. Six existing tests now declare their unchanged platform and privilege skip conditions with test.skipIf.

The test checks that direct archive registration throws ConfigOwnershipLockError while the ownership lock is held. Service logging still creates service.log.1, which is not recorded in the manifest.
Update test skip declarations tests/config/config-ownership-concurrent-record.test.ts
Six tests use test.skipIf with the same Windows or Windows-and-root conditions as before.
lidge-jun/opencodex#8121: Adds the ownership lock and changes service log rotation behavior when archive registration fails. The new test exercises rotation while that lock is held.
lidge-jun/opencodex#8176: Also changes skip declarations to test.skipIf in this test file and adds retries to the concurrent-registration fixture.

Addressed review 4497482065 in 0b80db3: the new cross-platform test holds the real SQLite ownership lock until rotation finishes, verifies the archive remains unrecorded, and stops the logger before releasing the lock in finally. Windows rotation group: 2 pass, 1 intentional skip, 11 assertions; the new case took 408 ms under the default 5-second limit. Independent re-review and typecheck passed. Product behavior and the existing POSIX hardlink case are unchanged.

Maintainer integration (dev only, per MAINTAINERS.md): exact head 0b80db3 has a successful required check rollup and no unresolved review threads. Test-only change to tests/config/config-ownership-concurrent-record.test.ts. It restores the intended Windows exclusions that Bun 1.4.4 ignored via the {skip} option; these five cases fail on hosted Windows in dev run 42247227346/#8229 run 42196672907, and a platform-independent busy-lock rotation case keeps Windows coverage. Thank you!
