Image-first mobile prompts could leak t3-context:// markup into temporary thread titles and hide the written request.

Normalize context references before deriving titles across mobile drafts, queued submissions, and both web send paths. Keep request text and readable source labels; use “Attached image(s)” for image-only prompts. File context references keep their readable labels; attachment-only file input uses File: report.pdf. Submitted text, contexts, and attachments stay intact. Existing saved titles and title-generation timing are unchanged.

Maintainer takeover of #19822, building on @saphid’s reproduction and shared normalization. Removed unrelated server timing coverage and consolidated duplicate web fallback logic. Fixed file-only mislabeling, preserved reference text at both web callers, and derived mobile creation titles from the raw queued prompt before message serialization. “Work locally” recovery reuses the source thread’s readable title while preserving its stored message.

Validation:

• The focused touched-file suite shrank from 103 to 95 tests across three files; the server file is restored to main. Reverting title normalization produced seven expected regression failures. The new PDF regression also failed before its fix.
• 262 tests passed across eight focused files before the final caller correction; 154 tests across three focused files passed after it. After the mobile outbox correction, 32 tests across shared title, mobile thread-start, and composer serialization pass, along with a fresh mobile typecheck, targeted lint (one existing outbox effect-dependency warning), and formatting. Client-runtime, mobile, and web package typechecks, targeted lint, formatting, and diff checks pass.
• Linux web: submitted the same neutral PNG through the actual composer on base and head, confirmed both provider runs completed. The persisted creation events prove the actual initial title changed from Image: title-proof.png (sequence 6) to Attached image (sequence 46), before generated naming. Head generated its final title before the recording captured the temporary one. The after screenshot is an explicit fixture: the completed thread was renamed through the normal metadata command using the current helper’s computed Attached image result. It demonstrates rendering, while the recording demonstrates real submission. A second real web send with image + prose committed Describe this blue square in one sentence. and completed its provider run. Headless browser probes also returned Fix the parser for image + prose and src/app.ts for image + source.
• Local recovery: 24 mobile thread-start and composer serialization tests pass after adding the recovery sequence to the existing attachment cases; the mobile typecheck passes. Route lint reports three existing warnings.
• macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, and Electron desktop were not verified. Mobile URL normalization, serialization, local recovery, and message preservation are covered by focused tests. Both captures use the same viewport and locally supplied Liberation Sans because the headless browser initially had no system fonts.
